This is a month of inner exploration for you, Taurus, involving intimacies with valued partners and with the deep and hidden parts of your own psyche. In the course of this current cycle much of what and who you are, that which is actually transpiring beneath the surface layers of your personality, is coming into greater focus for you. This is to your lasting benefit, because this variegated and vast realm, lying almost unknown in the depths of your psyche, is a personality factor of perhaps surprising relevance. You are normally used to being outwardly represented in nature consciousness, and in the beauty of earthly existence, this achievement is of an entirely different order. You might be drawn to philosophizing about it all, in attempt to define the deeper meaning of what you are engaged in. These intellectual descriptions ultimately fall short when confronted with the ineffable reality of all that you hold inside.
As the month begins, you are exploring inwardly more than outwardly, as indicated by the Sagittarius New Moon from two days before the beginning of December, which took place in your sector of intimacy and personal evolution. There is a powerful emphasis now on everything that is hidden and unknown, deep within you, what Freud and Jung early in the twentieth century identified as the vast subconscious area below the surface layers of your personality, the wellspring of a large part of your activity, that you can get to know by suppressing your more normative logical mental flow. This is so that you might, in words immortalized by the lyrics of the Grateful Dead, begin to “close your eyes to see.”
The New Moon also makes a perfect sesquiquadrate aspect with Eris, the new planet beyond Pluto, symbolizing taking a strong stand for yourself at all costs. This is to say, coming strictly from that in which you most deeply believe, at soul-level. Eris is still closely aligned with Uranus, in your solar chart’s twelfth sector of unconscious process, and therefore another representation of these interior realms hidden deep within your psyche. Your home and family sector is also lit up by the New Moon energy, lasting for nearly the remainder of the month. The other major astrological factors of December point to new directions for your emerging life path. The entrance of your relationship ruler, Mars, into your sector of societal engagement and future plans, on December 19th, coincides with the station to retrograde motion of Mercury through your higher mind sector. Together this indicates a re-visioning of how you see your role changing vis-à-vis the collective. This affects your perspective on the current zeitgeist, and the way that you and others absorb certain aspects of your evolving worldview. You are making important adjustments to earlier determinations, and the perspective that you gain will become a vital part of what you take with you into 2017.
