Full Moon in Taurus: Tending the Wound, Reclaiming Our Worth

Full Moon in Taurus: Tending the Wound, Reclaiming Our Worth

On October 25, 2026, at 9:11 PM Pacific time, the Moon reaches her fullness in early Taurus, opposite the Sun in Scorpio. This lunation arrives with unusual potency. The luminaries align closely with retrograde Venus in opposition with Chiron, while Sun and Moon form an extremely close T-square to Pluto in Aquarius that energizes the whole configuration. Perhaps more than most Full Moons, this one illuminates the shadows deep within us: the places where old wounds, inherited power dynamics, and our most personal values meet.

A Full Moon in Taurus always speaks to what we value and hold dear. It brings our attention to the body, to our somatic and physical awareness, and to our material resources. It asks simple and searching questions. What do I have? What do I cherish? And as represented by the Sun shining from Scorpio, is what I’m tending in my life aligned with the most profound expressions of my nature?

Taurus and Scorpio form the axis of what we can tangibly feel and what we sense under the surface, what we hold and what we release. In positive manifestation, this polarity offers grounded presence and the courage to be transformed. In its shadow, it can show up as clinging to what no longer nourishes us, or as fear of the vulnerability that real intimacy requires. Under this dynamic Full Moon, both sides may come into view.

Chiron and Venus at the Threshold

The Moon at 2° Taurus comes to fullness a mere four degrees from Chiron, which sits at 28° Aries in an out-of-sign conjunction. Meanwhile the Sun, on the opposite side of the sky, forms an even closer out-of-sign conjunction with Venus in late Libra. Venus is weeks into her retrograde journey and has just two days prior undergone her Cazimi, the moment she is reborn in the heart of the Sun.

That Cazimi has carried particular significance. It was her last in Scorpio during our lifetimes, and Venus has now reentered Libra, which she rules, the sign where her next series of Cazimi events will occur every eight years moving forward. We are witnessing a rare passage in the Venus cycle itself, perhaps signaling a shift in how relationship, beauty, and value will be centered now and in the collective for many years to come.

With the luminaries aligned to both Chiron and Venus, we may find ourselves looking directly at our painful wounding around relationship. This is not only an invitation to revisit old hurts. It may also mark their movement into a new state of being, a new understanding of what it means to be in relationship at all. While this touches every kind of connection, it seems to speak especially to the dynamic between the masculine and the feminine, as both of these show up in the world around us and within ourselves. In its shadow, Chiron reveals where we have been injured. In its light, it shows us where that injury has become a source of wisdom and a gift to be shared.

Pluto and the Architecture of Power

To make all of this even more potent, Pluto in Aquarius is the focus of a T-square, squared by both the Moon and Chiron on one side and the Sun and Venus on the other. Pluto asks us to look at everything arising in our relationships through the lens of power and radical metamorphosis, and at how this power dynamic reflects the larger structures of our collective world.

As we examine these collective structures, we may recognize how deeply we have been conditioned by the cultural architectures that surround us. Much of what plays out between us personally is shaped by patterns far older and larger than any one relationship. This recognition can be humbling, and yet perhaps also freeing. It invites us in the midst of our own questioning to hold compassion for ourselves and others, to shed what was never truly ours, and to reorganize into a new awareness of power. From that awareness, we may begin to understand collaborations, connections, and relationships in ways that move beyond the tricky power dynamics that so often arise. We may also find the courage to transform, even when change feels scary.

Mercury Turns Inward

Adding to the intensity, Mercury stationed retrograde at 20° Scorpio just a day before this Full Moon. Because it is standing nearly dead-still in the sky, its presence is especially strong right now, inviting us to listen more closely to what’s beneath the surface of all of our words and conversations. With both Mercury and Venus retrograde, we may find ourselves revisiting old conversations and connections, perhaps now saying or hearing what was left unspoken.

Venus Comes Home

One other dimension of this rather intense Full Moon deserves our attention. Venus moved into Libra just hours before this Full Moon perfected, placing her in her own sign rulership. As the ruler of Taurus as well, she is also the ruler of this Full Moon. Her dignity in sign elevates her role here. This is a retrograde Venus that prioritizes connection, balance, harmony, and magnificence, turning us back toward what we genuinely love and find beautiful.

This marks a culminating moment within this current lunation cycle that began with the New Moon in Libra in early October, and it may be helpful now to tune into our own sense of values: what we find of importance and worth in ourselves, in our lives, and in our world. Rather than approaching this as a solemn task, Venus invites us to honor those values in ways that are pleasurable, life-affirming, and in alignment with our deepest and most personally unique desires.

May we meet our oldest wounds with tenderness, release the patterns that no longer serve our wholeness, and unlatch ourselves from consensus pressure or unhelpful conditioning. May we devote ourselves to what we truly love and cherish, in ourselves and in one another. Blessed be!
