This is another wild and somewhat crazy month for you, Sagittarius, as you enter the new year in the wake of the recent New Moon in the late degrees of your sign. The thirty-day lunation cycle from last month lasts well into the first three weeks of January and foretells of the transformational effects upon you of outer planets plus Chiron, the Wounded Healer, the latter made prominent by a partile or same-degree square from Jupiter, your ruler, at 22° of Cancer in your sector of intimacy and personal evolution. It seems that while you are vitally revising certain aspects of your communications and learning, the sector where Pluto is currently operating, and handling ups and downs – along with unexpected events and revelations – with regard to the key relationships in your life, due to the active presence of Uranus on the edge of Gemini, your opposite sign, you are also more aware of inner wounding. This affects in particular your creativity, joy, and potential romantic connections, the sector where Chiron is currently located. If inner wounding indeed arises, what is called for is greater acceptance of flaws or internal complexes, acknowledging this undigested residue of early childhood trauma. When you can lovingly accept yourself in all your different facets, without blame or shame, you are making important progress toward reweaving old wounding in more positive terms, one important lesson of this climactic month. The lunations of January are quite potent and are essentially guiding you toward greater peace and integration, especially when you can empower yourself to make this leap. There is the Full Moon of the 3rd, which brings up intimacy and personal evolution, in contrast with relationship or social issues, and the Last Quarter Moon of the 10th, which is very strong and features, again, Chiron, and the potential for inner wounding. The extremely potent late Capricorn New Moon of the 18th is also quite powerful, and features a stellium of six planets, aligned from the late degrees of Capricorn to the first few of Aquarius, representing therefore your shifting understanding of your resources and values along with your communication and information skills. All in all, this is a good month for progress if you can find the faith within you to weather the storm, accept the lessons, and count your inner blessings.

Previous New Moon in Sagittarius – December 19th, 2025
January begins under the influence of the late Sagittarius New Moon that arrived just before the solstice, setting the tone for the cycle now unfolding. Occurring in your own sign and first sector of identity, embodiment, and personal direction, and conjunct Venus, the lunation cycle thus engendered marks a moment of self-redefinition. Squaring the Saturn–Neptune conjunction, this New Moon carries a dissolving quality, suggesting that old philosophies, belief systems, or guiding narratives around who you are and how you move through life may be quietly loosening. With Neptune at the final degree of Pisces, a long chapter may be closing that is connected to faith, idealism, or spiritual notions. Another will begin to take shape later in January. There is an invitation to soften rigid ideas about truth or purpose and allow lived experience to reshape your sense of self. Some ideals may fade while others strengthen, and through embodiment rather than abstraction.
Mercury Enters Capricorn – January 1st
As the year opens, Mercury enters Capricorn and your second sector of resources, values, and material stability. Mental focus may shift toward practicality, budgeting, and long-term planning around sustainability and abundance. This transit supports clearer thinking around priorities, responsibility, and the efficient use of time and energy as the year begins.
Chiron Stations Direct in Aries – January 2nd
Chiron, the Wounded Healer, stations direct in Aries, activating your fifth sector of creativity, self-expression, and authentic joy. Old wounds – perhaps connected to confidence, visibility, or the fear of being fully yourself --- may come to the fore. This moment offers healing through radical self-acceptance as you can manifest this, encouraging courageous self-expression rooted in your authentic self.
Full Moon in Cancer – January 3rd
The Cancer Full Moon illuminates your eighth sector of shared resources, emotional bonds, and psychological depth, opposing the Sun in your second sector of personal values. Emotional truths may surface around trust, dependency, or reciprocity, clarifying what feels nourishing and sustainable in both material and emotional exchanges. This lunation invites balance between self-reliance and shared support, opening the first weekend of the year with a grounding influence.
Sun, Venus, and Mars Conjunction in Capricorn – January 2nd–12th
The ongoing conjunction of the Sun, Venus, and Mars activates your second sector of worth, income, and self-sufficiency. This alignment is unusual in its extended duration and supports disciplined effort and intentional creation, encouraging you to build something of lasting value. Motivation may feel more steady now, helping you align desire, values, and action in practical ways.
Personal Planets Opposite Jupiter and T-square to Chiron and Eris – January 7th–11th
As Capricorn planets Sun, Venus, and Mars come together to oppose your ruling planet Jupiter in Cancer across your second and eighth sectors, tensions around growth, security, and emotional dependence could become more visible. The T-square to Chiron and Eris in your fifth sector highlights wounds around autonomy, creative risk, or being seen on your own terms. This configuration invites a redefinition of sovereignty in the context of collaboration and encourages you to expand your capacity for presence within the depths of your own psyche, and seeking the pearls of wisdom in your own internal landscape.
Venus Enters Aquarius – January 17th
Venus Conjunct Pluto January 18th–21st
Venus enters Aquarius and your third sector of communication, perception, and learning, where it then conjoins Pluto. This transit intensifies how values, desire, and relational dynamics are expressed through words, ideas, and conversations. Exchanges may feel more charged, revealing underlying power dynamics or unspoken truths. There is potential for profound shifts in how you relate, speak, listen, and navigate the desire to understand and feel understood in return.
New Moon in Capricorn – January 18th
The late Capricorn New Moon lands in your second sector of resources, priorities, and self-worth, and affecting your third of communications and learning. This first New Moon of 2026 is another quite powerful lunation, marking this timing as notable in its initiatory weight. With Mercury, Venus, and Mars clustered nearby, this lunation concentrates attention around what you are building materially and energetically, and whether it reflects your deeper values. Harmonious aspects to Uranus and the Saturn–Neptune conjunction support innovation, realism, and inspiration, allowing new approaches to take shape without abandoning structure or meaning. There is an invitation to take responsibility for how your time, effort, and life force are being invested, without rushing toward immediate outcomes. This New Moon reflects a threshold moment, in the final month before Neptune leaves Pisces for Aries, and is asking for steady, conscious choices around sustainability, integrity, and long-term security.
Sun Enters Aquarius – January 19th
Sun Conjunct Pluto January 21st–25th
As the Sun enters Aquarius, it activates your third sector of communication, mindset, and meaning-making, and its conjunction with Pluto brings issues of power, agency, and authenticity into sharp focus. Awareness may focalize around patterns of control, persuasion, or self-censorship in how you express yourself. This transit invites you to reclaim your voice with greater clarity, illuminating where truth wants to be spoken more clearly.
Mars Enters Aquarius – January 23rd
Mars Conjunct Pluto January 24th–30th
Mars enters Aquarius, once again activating your third sector, intensifying mental energy and sharpening instincts around communication and decision-making. Mars’ conjunction with Pluto can surface suppressed anger, urgency, or confrontations tied to ideas, opinions, or information. Words carry added weight and heat during this period for you, and reactions may escalate quickly if energy is not consciously channeled. Used intentionally, this transit supports decisive conversations, strategic thinking, and the courage to address what has been avoided.
Neptune Enters Aries – January 26th
Neptune’s entry into Aries activates your fifth sector of creativity, romance, and self-expression, beginning a new long-term era in how inspiration and desire are experienced. This marks the start of a new cycle around creative identity and authentic joy, where vision and illusion coexist. Discernment becomes essential as you learn to trust inspiration without losing yourself within it, ideally using the power of imagination for creative play and expression.
