This is another interesting month for you, Capricorn, and one that takes you in a contrary direction to the realms of striving and outer world success that are your more usual hunting grounds. The recent late Scorpio New Moon from mid-November took place right on the edge of your twelfth sector of dream imagination, unconscious process, and inner work, and it may serve to remind you that there are times when the only way ahead is down and through. A grand trine in this New Moon between Sun, Moon, Mercury in conjunction leading to Jupiter, your twelfth sector’s ruler, and Saturn – which rules your solar chart – makes for another powerful astrological indication of this emphasis over the course of this December month of internal exploration. This area of inner work, while little recognized, is very important for everything that we say and do. Transformational Pluto remains active in Aquarius, the part of your chart that relates to values and resources, including your financial ones, so that something is also irrevocably changing in that regard as well, perhaps even your relationship to the entire material world. When the Gemini Full Moon arrives on December 4th, there is also a renewed emphasis on Chiron, the Wounded Healer, conjunct Eris, Feminine Warrior for Soul Intention, in your sector of home, family and your psychological roots, which underscores this month’s internal focus. Ancient wounds, the residue of early childhood trauma long buried away, are likely to surface at this time, and if they do, provide an opportunity for recognition, leading to an eventual healing of these issues. You have perhaps in the past avoided dealing with these dark places tucked away within the depths of your psyche. If so, this might therefore be an excellent time to welcome them closer to the comfort of your more conscious awareness and acceptance.

Previous New Moon – from November 19th
December opens on the lingering resonance of the Scorpio New Moon from November 19th, which activated your eleventh and twelfth sectors of vision, community, alliances, long-range goals, and unconscious process. This lunation arrived in a rare conjunction with the Mercury in Cazimi moment that is considered to be a bit of a respite from the difficulties and untoward events of the remainder of the Mercury Retrograde period. This previous late Scorpio New Moon also linked into a grand kite formation with Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn–Neptune in Pisces, and Uranus in Taurus. For you, this configuration could have clarified the emotional or energetic undercurrents shaping your collaborative spaces, making more visible that which is aligned with your deeper purpose, as differing from what tends to distract or deplete you. Something about the way you participate in community or how you hold your commitments may have come sharply into focus, revealing where boundaries, expectations, or aspirations needed refinement. As December unfolds, you are also likely more involved with inner process, with dreams that inform you of your deeper awareness and of compulsions toward inner work, and with delving beneath the surface layers of your psyche. You may continue noticing how these revelations ripple outward, guiding you into more intentional choices about the circles you invest yourself in and the future you feel drawn to cultivate.
Mercury Direct and Recovering, since November 29th
Mercury stationed direct on November 29th, and although this has begun the gradual shift away from deep introspective reworking, the early days of December still emphasize integration. Mercury completes its recovery through the retrograde shadow on December 16th, which means conversations, planning, and creative problem-solving may continue to unfold in layers rather than leaps. Moving from your eleventh sector of long-term aspirations to your twelfth sector of dream and mystery, Mercury’s process reminds you to listen carefully to subtler signals beneath the surface.
Gemini Full Moon – December 4th
The Gemini Full Moon on December 4th illuminates your sixth sector of work, wellness, and the systems that support daily life. Full Moons tend to highlight turning points, and this one is especially potent because it forms a same-degree grand cross with the lunar nodes in Virgo and Pisces. This cross activates a karmically charged atmosphere prompting you to consider rest, service, and surrender. With the mutable cross, this time may be asking you to adopt an attitude of flexibility to flow to the changing tides. You may notice themes around overextension, workload patterns, or habits that require recalibration. With Chiron, the Wounded Healer additionally activated, in your fourth sector of home and family, there could be repercussions that arise in terms of inner wounding in this area. You might in this way come to acknowledge what is no longer sustainable. The insights arising here can help you restructure your commitments or reshape the rhythms that center your wellbeing.
Jupiter Trine Saturn – Ongoing Through Mid-December
Throughout the first half of the month, Jupiter in Cancer continues to form a steady trine to Saturn, your ruling planet, in Pisces. This supportive link between your seventh sector of partnership, and third sector of communication creates a harmonious backdrop that strengthens interpersonal connection, agreements, and relational clarity. Jupiter expands possibilities while Saturn provides the structure to make them real, encouraging thoughtful conversations that build trust or foster cooperation. You may find that plans can take root with more ease, or that collaborative endeavors develop with greater coherence and flow. This transit brings a grounded optimism, blending emotional sincerity with tangible follow-through, offering a sense of momentum where it matters most.
Sun, Mars, and Venus Square Saturn–Neptune Throughout the Month
The Sun, Mars, and Venus move through late Sagittarius for much of December, forming square aspects to Saturn and Neptune in Pisces. This takes place just before these inner planets ingress into Capricorn, and over this week or a few days these activations will highlight your twelfth sector of subconscious process and your third sector of rational thought, drawing attention to the interplay between your inner world and your everyday environment and engagements. You may notice subtle tensions between what you feel privately and what you communicate outwardly, or between your instinct to withdraw and your need to share your truth. Rather than pushing for definitive solutions, you may find value in allowing for ambiguity, which can inform a slower, steadier approach. This month-long series of squares invites you to infuse your intuition and deep inner knowing with the mental interfaces and attitudes through which you navigate everyday life.
Neptune Stations Direct – December 10th
On December 10th, Neptune stations direct in your third sector of learning and, for the surrounding week, heightens the Neptunian blend of intuition, imagination, and sensitivity. This can bring a gentle lift in creativity or symbolic insight, yet it may also blur boundaries or complicate clear communication. Offering yourself and others the gift of compassion can be helpful, as everyone navigates the foggy weather together.
Mars Enters Capricorn – December 14th
Mars enters your sign, Capricorn, on December 14th, activating your first sector of identity, vitality, and personal agency. Mars is exalted here, and its arrival often brings renewed determination, grounding, and stamina. You may feel a clearer sense of direction or a desire to move ahead with fervor and focused intention. This transit supports disciplined effort and aligned ambition, giving form to ideas that have been gestating.
Sagittarius New Moon – December 19th
The Sagittarius New Moon of December 19th initiates a quieter inner cycle in your twelfth sector of mystery, inviting reflection, release, and spiritual integration. With Venus nearby and the Saturn–Neptune square still active, this lunation encourages a softening of expectations and a turning toward inner truth. You may feel called to step back, rest, or allow space for intuition to guide what comes next. This New Moon is located right on the edge of your sign, so that issues of identity and of where you are heading could also come up in this timing. It also can be seen as marking a preparatory phase, helping you shed what no longer aligns so that you can meet the Capricorn season from a place of clarity and renewed strength.
Sun Enters Capricorn – December 21st
The Sun enters your sign on December 21st, ushering in your personal solar season and coinciding with the Capricorn Solstice. This turning point offers a natural moment of renewal, inviting you to reflect on the year behind you and to orient toward what you hope to build in the year ahead. You may notice a clearer sense of self emerging as your attention returns to your priorities, responsibilities, and long-term goals. This transit affirms your authority and re-centers you within your own path.
Venus Enters Capricorn – December 24th
Venus enters Capricorn on December 24th, joining Mars and the Sun in your first sector and emphasizing themes of self-respect, authenticity, and relational grounding. You may feel drawn to refine your personal boundaries or deepen connections that honor mutual integrity. Venus here supports purposeful commitments and a desire for stability. This transit can also bring warmth and ease into your self-presentation, helping you integrate the month’s insights with grace and composure, as 2025 closes and you look forward to 2026.
