This is an interesting month for you, Cancer, involving trials as well as satisfactions, and relationship revelations as well as individual development. Whether you are in a committed partnership at this time or not, the very concept of connection with significant others is sure to come up for you, especially in the month’s second half, heading toward a Christmas Day crescendo. Another factor that will be highlighted for you this month lies in the contrast between taking a chance on urges to explore novel future dimensions of societal participation and service to others, versus a self-protective instinct to stay centered in your already established plans. You are also continuing to seek a better fit between ideals and actual outer world actions. The question of whether to jump the tracks of existing patterns is not simple to resolve, and neither is the other contrast of contrary elements, of relationship connection versus solitary self-development. The trick might be to take a step back and to reflect how all this impinges on the big picture implications for your own evolutionary integration of your disparate parts into a unifying whole.

The month of December begins astrologically with a Solar Eclipse New Moon in Sagittarius on the late evening of the 3rd, early morning of the 4th, corresponding to your sector of health and service to others, as well as workplace. These areas could be in the process of some kind of significant fresh start, given the power of this eclipse New Moon. Also there could be surprising information that comes to you though a process of intuition and that might signal a change in the way you conduct yourself through group activities or in terms of societal commitment. There is quite a bit of activity as well for you in the area of close personal relationships or business partnerships in connection with this December New Moon, that will make itself known to you as the month and the New Year continue to unfold. Eclipses generally have a six-month window of predictive power. This eclipse along the Gemini–Sagittarius axis brings to a close a series of such eclipses that began in 2020. These may have brought an increased need to take care of inner realities so that you may have required a greater degree of solitude over this time, or ended up spending more time alone. Your need for spontaneity and adventure may also have also been limited. You may be busy with a million and one projects, motivated by the thought of spending time with the people you love.
The second week of December could highlight an important relationship dynamic or you may feel like reaching out to someone. From the 5th to the 7th, Mars in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn and square Jupiter in Aquarius might increase your need to connect with people. Also, however, when Mercury in Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces on the 7th, it could feel like work is never done and you might be too busy to take a break.
One of the astrological highlights of December is Venus joining Pluto in Capricorn from the 8th to the 28th when the two will be within one degree. Venus is also stationing retrograde on the 19th. Venus in Capricorn will be emphasizing your partnerships or someone close to you and the conjunction from Pluto could bring an obsessive edge. You may become aware of a power dynamic playing out under the surface without really knowing how to address it. Issues surrounding control are possible but it may take some time to resolve it. Venus emphasizes the partnership sector of your chart for the next two and a half months which may prompt you to reassess a relationship in the next several weeks or become infatuated with someone new. Pay attention to what transpires around this time as it may give you a preview of a situation to come in the near future. Mercury enters Capricorn on the 13th which may increase dialogues and interactions with others while Mars entering Sagittarius on the same day could increase your need to get physical.
On the 18th, the Full Moon in Gemini culminates in the part of your chart that relates to your inner world. The third week of December you might plan to allow to get everything done you need to, leading to a more introspective period on the weekend. You may feel like taking a step back from your busy schedule and giving yourself permission to relax and sort out your thoughts before things get busier. It may be easier to take stock of where you are at especially if you create some space to do so.
A relationship situation could continue to be on your mind as Venus stations retrograde in Capricorn on the 19th. There might not be answers for what is emerging at this time so let yourself live with the uncertainty. You’ve worked a lot on your boundaries since 2018 and you may have to put in practice what you’ve learned. This could of course be done compassionately and it doesn’t have to be complicated.
The last two weeks of December could be dynamic as you try to divide your time between your personal goals and the demands of others. The Sun’s entry into Capricorn signals the first day of Winter in the Northern Hemisphere and a time when the people you care about take centre stage in your life.
The third and final square between Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus takes place from the 18th to the 26th; this is an aspect that colored the entirety of 2021 highlighting tensions that we have observed between the old and the new, and also focusing on perceived limitations and the need to evolve out of them. On a personal level, this influence may have brought a new kind of discipline as you move towards the accomplishment of your dreams. Whether the limitations have been self-imposed or external, you still managed to accomplish a lot and you can be proud of your accomplishments so far..
The end of the year comes with Jupiter entering Pisces on the 29th which may have a hopeful and optimistic influence to close 2021. Jupiter will be in the part of your chart that relates to learning journeys and mind-expansion for the next four and a half months and this is exciting news. New horizons are calling and fresh perspectives are merging as you reach outside of your comfort zone. You can trust that you are being guided towards your highest calling.
