This month is a strong one for you, with two eclipses that bring up somewhat difficult issues of self and other, of intuitional choices along with dealing with limitation and judgment, of crowd contexts versus finding your own way through. The lunar eclipse of January 31st took place just before the month began, and colors the first half of February, just as the solar eclipse and New Moon of the 15th in your intimacy sector does for the final two weeks. All through, you feel a strange restlessness regarding what you do out in the world, with an increasing understanding that much of what directs your steps needs to come from inside yourself. You could be feeling criticized or otherwise constrained by important persons in your life; the lesson there is to take what is useful and to discard the rest, recognizing that a more complete sense of relationship with others, comes, ultimately, from deeper connection with yourself.

February begins just one day after a lunar eclipse landed in your second house of finances. Lunar eclipses represent endings and culmination; don’t be surprised if you see significant changes related to your money, resources, or earning power this month. With the North Node in this house all year long, it’s likely a year where you will see growth and positive changes, overall. However, be careful to take the financial opportunities you are given to start a healthy new chapter, rather than repeating an old pattern.
Meanwhile, on February 3rd Mercury in Aquarius in your eighth house will make a sextile to Mars in Sagittarius in your sixth house. Be careful of speaking or thinking from a place of fear or hostility. Remember the phrase, “If you don’t have something kind to say, it’s better to say nothing at all.” This transit is useful for taking a philosophical stand, or for teaching, speaking, or communicating the truth about something subversive or difficult, but you may also find that communication is somewhat difficult at this time. Another phrase to remember, “say few things, but say them well.”
On the same day, Venus in Aquarius in your eighth house will square Jupiter in Scorpio in your fifth house. This is a great transit for having fun and for sharing magic, creativity, joy, and great depth with others, but be careful of overdoing things around this time, as Venus and Jupiter together can indicate excessiveness.
February 7th the Last Quarter Moon in Scorpio will conjoin with Jupiter in your fifth house. This is an emotionally powerful time. Whatever you’re feeling inside right now, look for a creative outlet. If you have children, listen deeply to whatever they might be experiencing, and don’t be surprised if you find that the child inside of you is transforming.
February 10th the planet Venus moves into Pisces, where it was traditionally said to be “exalted.” It will also move into your ninth house. You might be feeling a strong burst of devotion or renewed faith at this time. You may be traveling abroad, or planning to travel abroad, or you might be considering an entirely new course of artistic, spiritual, or creative study.
On February 15th it’s a New Moon and solar eclipse in the sign of Aquarius in your eighth house. This transit may signal the end of an era of debt, or it may involve new streams of passive income, new opportunities for investing, or a significant change of income for a spouse or partner. You may also notice that themes of depth, death, and transformation are particularly heightened around this time. The changes initiated at this time will take place slowly over the next few months.
Next, on February 17th Mars in Sagittarius in your sixth house will square Neptune in Pisces in your ninth house. You may find that you are tempted to push your beliefs or ideals onto others at this time, or you may find that you are acting like a martyr for your cause. Compromise isn’t a dirty word, no matter how deeply we may feel about something, and remember that most of the time we demonstrate our beliefs to others the best by living out our convictions, humbly, rather than trying to persuade others aggressively to believe exactly what we believe.
On February 17th Mercury is also cazimi (at the heart of the Sun) in the sign of Aquarius in your eighth house. However, shortly after this on the 17th Mercury will also enter its traditional “fall” by moving into Pisces and your ninth house. It’s very important to use your best judgment and to be as discerning as possible during this transit. This transit has the potential to tempt you into feeling invincible or overly confident about something, only to end up miscommunicating or missing important details that lead you into a temporary period of confusion or chaos.
On February 18th the Sun will enter the sign of Pisces and your ninth house, and on February 21st Venus will conjoin Neptune in Pisces in your ninth house. Faith and belief, higher study, and foreign travel are the themes of this month. You may be growing in your spiritual life by leaps and bounds this month, or you may feel inspired to write, travel, and create. It would also not be surprising to find love abroad or to fall in love with someone from a different part of the world, or with someone who shares the same deeply held beliefs or convictions as yourself. Just remember, Venus and Neptune can be quite intoxicating, so it’s important to remain discerning and rational so that you can tell the difference between fantasy and reality.
Following this, Mercury will conjoin with Neptune in Pisces in your ninth house and Venus in Pisces will square Mars in Sagittarius in your sixth house, both on February 25th. These transits highlight the challenges of using your beliefs and faith to educate, help, or heal those who may cross your path. You will have critical decisions to make surrounding your values and beliefs and specifically regarding how you communicate or enact your beliefs during whatever challenging situations may arise. You are a nurturer by nature, but this month asks you to be as wise and discerning as you are emotional and passionate.
