Your worldview is shifting, Virgo, as has been brewing for quite a while, and especially during these past few weeks. This month, you inhabit a larger conscious focus on your beliefs and ch Erished values, as certain concepts that you have been playing with in your mind come to a head. Your attention is drawn to the most important aspects of your recent changes in this area. You are also focused on your self-expression, both with real-world success and your creativity in general. Partners are powerful in all this, as you attempt to steer a middle course between stoic practicality and idealized relationship. After the Full Moon weekend of May 18th and continuing through Tuesday, May 21st, as your spiritually based evolutionary development carries on apace, your outer world statement is ready to more fully blossom. You are going for a deeper connection between public statement and private learning, and in some ways much of what has been going on has been a weeks- or even months-long preparation for just that.
The following was written by this month's guest columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School
Between May 1st and May 3rd, your ruling planet Mercury in Aries in your eighth house of death and rebirth will be making a square to Saturn in Capricorn in your fifth house of creativity and good fortune, while also conjuncting Eris, squaring Pluto, and forming a sextile with Mars in Gemini in your career house, creating what is traditionally called a “mutual reception.” Given that Saturn and Pluto also recently turned retrograde in your fifth house, you may experience some brief turbulence while working to revise or transform structures and patterns at work, or in relation to money, health, and finances. Whatever the challenges of this moment might be, you have the opportunity to make some course corrections that could eventually lead to a greater degree of personal and professional freedom and happiness in the long run.
On May 4th, the New Moon in Taurus will fall in your ninth house of the higher mind, pointing to a deeper and more contemplative Moon cycle to come.
This is followed by an exciting if not somewhat erratic conjunction between Mercury and Uranus in Taurus, also in your ninth house, between May 7th and May 8th, which also points to the potential for an intellectual or spiritual breakthrough. Opening yourself to new ways of thinking right now will lead to positive developments this month. Keep your eye out for unexpected teachers, messages, or messengers entering your life, as well.
Between May 5th and May 6th, Mars in Gemini in your tenth house of career will oppose Jupiter in Sagittarius in your fourth house of home and family, bringing similar philosophical, spiritual and intellectual themes into a dynamic tension between your work life and your family or home life.
Between May 6th to the 10th, the deeper transformational work you started off the month with is now focusing specifically on relationships, beauty, pleasure, and desire. Venus moving through the eighth house of transformation, begins to conjunct Eris, and in succession squares the heavy, karmic lineup of Saturn, the South Node of the Moon, and Pluto in your fifth house of self-expression, which was traditionally called “the Joy of Venus.” It’s a time of both reckoning and healing. It will be better to square up and face things right now than trying to avoid, resist, or deny the obvious.
Between May 10th and the 15th, things will become increasingly productive and practical. With the Sun in Taurus moving through your 9th house of the higher mind, you will be implementing new principles, techniques, rules, or ideas that will have an immediately positive affect on you. Watch for the most tangible results to manifest around May 14th, when the Moon in Virgo will create a temporary Grand Earth trine from your first house.
On May 18th, the Full Moon will fall in Scorpio in your third house of the mind, bringing an intense emotional and mental energy with it. With Venus simultaneously conjoining Uranus in Taurus in the ninth house of the higher mind, it’s likely that the philosophical transformation occurring in your life this month will be affecting your relationships or friendships quite powerfully.
On May 22nd to the 24th, Mars in Cancer in your eleventh house of friends, groups, and allies, will square Chiron, the Wounded Healer, in Aries in your eighth house of death and rebirth. You might be helping a friend to cope or heal with a loss right now, or you might be called on to offer support or guidance to someone in need. Alternatively, you could be called on to do some deeper healing work on your own, regarding friends, colleagues, or allies at this time, perhaps offering or accepting an olive branch.
Finally, from May 29th to the 30th, Mercury in Gemini in your tenth house of career will square Neptune in Pisces in your seventh house of relationships while also opposing Jupiter in Sagittarius in your fourth house of home and family. This moment represents a synthesis of opposing ideas and forces between your work or professional life, your social life and relationships, as well as your private home and family situation. As a child of Mercury, it’s sometimes difficult to find a consistent way of expressing yourself, but right now it’s incredibly important that you be clear within yourself, and with others. The truth in this moment really will set you free!
