This is a significant monthly cycle for you, Gemini, one in which both birth and death are revealed – don’t these always go together' Although this might sound scary it is all just the fabric of your life unfolding. Your public roles are a bit confused and more than a little mystical to you now. Spiritual intelligence is part of every true act on your part, and your determination to forge ahead is endless. As you more fully examine the very structure of your life, you are also seeking the way to move beyond it, even though treasured things must be given up in this process. The New Moon of February 4th signals a 30-day period of journeying and discovery that can take many forms: travel, educational initiatives, other types of learning, expanded worldview. Partners continue to play an important role. All these explorations form a doorway through which you will emerge into your future self, that totally new phase into which you are just now being born.
The following was written by this month's guest columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School
The month starts with Mars in Aries in your eleventh house of friends and groups, making a square to Pluto in Capricorn in the eighth house on February 2nd. Confrontations within groups and among friends may come up, but the benefit of understanding one another’s motives right now may also bring unexpected cooperation.
At the same time, Venus in Sagittarius in your seventh house of relationships is making a trine to Uranus in Aries in your eleventh house of groups and allies, which is also suggesting a moment of breakthrough, innovation, and originality between yourself and others. Given that Venus in Sagittarius is also making a square to Chiron in Pisces in your tenth house of career, it’s likely that this breakthrough will bring a wave of emotional intensity and healing insights into your professional life, as well. So, while there may be some unexpected disappointment between yourself and your colleagues or friends this month, you are going to grow and learn from these experiences and you may even deepen your relationships with key allies along the way.
On February 3rd, Venus will enter Capricorn and move into your eighth house, focusing on the assets and resources of others, which may come to your aid as the month progresses. An enhanced determination to descend into your depths, as you attempt to understand your own motivations and those of others, will be productive now.
On February 4th, the New Moon lands in Aquarius in your ninth house of long journeys and the higher mind, putting the spotlight on your spiritual life or the process of learning and expanding your horizons in the weeks to come. A highlighted presence of mystical and numinous Neptune in your career sector implies that spiritual consideration must come into play as you proceed with career choices, and that you must also beware of a degree of self-deception in these matters, over the course of this month.
Between February 12th and 13th, Mars will conjoin with Uranus in Aries in your eleventh house of friends, groups, and allies, just prior to entering the sign of Taurus on February 14thand moving into your twelfth house of dissolution and “self-undoing.” Be careful of the temptation to burn bridges or make impulsive decisions right now. While some relationships might be ready to end, the road ahead is far from clear, and Mars’ entrance into the twelfth house signals an interim period of struggle, inertia, or potential frustration for at least the next month to come. This influence will of course pass, but it’s important to prepare for the future by only taking calculated risks right now.
On February 18th and 19th, Venus will conjoin Saturn in Capricorn in the eighth house, bringing themes of commitment and love, finality and beauty, seriousness and grace. On February 18th, also, Chiron will also finally leave your career house and move into your house of friends, allies, and groups, where it will stay for the better part of the next decade, engaging you in a long process of healing and growth related to your social life and social circles.
Then, also on February 19th, the Full Moon in Virgo will land in your fourth house of home, family, roots, and property, shining its light on domestic topics and bringing a moment of culmination related to home and family. At the same time, your ruling planet Mercury’s conjunction to Neptune in the tenth house may signal a professional agreement, inspiring new vision, or moment of inspiration professionally that is fueling the changes taking place on the home front. Be careful of making any impulsive decisions right now in relation to both work and home. With Mercury and Neptune conjoining in Pisces, things may not be exactly as they appear, so take your time with big decisions and be sure to gather all the facts before making a move.
On February 22nd, Venus will conjoin Pluto in the eighth house, bringing upheaval, depth, power, and intensity into relationships or business dealings. As the month winds down, Venus will then move toward a square to Uranus in Aries in the eleventh house of groups and friends, once more indicating that you are ready for a significant changes to overtake you regarding issues of allegiance with colleagues or friends. Incidentally, it might be difficult for you to say whether your changes of this potent month are coming from a place of clarity or a place of fantasy, and you will want to pay close attention to this distinction. With your ruling planet Mercury moving through foggy Pisces this month, and conjuncting Neptune there in the Full Moon timing, you’ll do best to be as sober and rational as possible!
