This is an interesting and contradictory month for you, Gemini, with tons of energy at your disposal and yet uncertainty about where to put it. You are on the cross of countervailing tendencies for movement and for stasis that is frustrating and yet profoundly enriching. Your ruler, Mercury, is moving backward in the sky, increasing introspection, and yet you remain, within many parts of your being, optimistic and outgoing. You are caught up in the contrast between the restrained and traditionalist outlook implied by prominent Saturn versus your impulse for adventure and for innovative approaches to future plans. These remain undiminished but must yield to the compromise of a more conservative attitude in order to be maximally effective. You want to leap tall buildings and burn all bridges, yet it is for the truly long (and thoughtful) haul that you must currently focus your energies.
As the month begins, you are still feeling the energy of the Capricorn New Moon that took place on December 28th, just a few days before the beginning of the year, and that landed in your sector of intimacy and personal evolution. This is indicative of an introspective monthly cycle that could reveal to you the major extent of your changes, as you re-assess in this New Year. This is therefore a month of profound realizations that could lead to breakthrough. The career sector emphasis is not at all on business as usual for you, however that might be construed, but rather you are focused on a more integrated approach, top to bottom, of everything that you aspire to and all that you hold inside.
This remains an intensely transformational cycle for you, in terms of further changes and also the recognition of how far you have already come. Pluto, signifying death and rebirth, is strongly featured for you by the presence, last month, in this same solar sector, of retrograde Mercury along with the forming conjunction of Sun and Moon that preceded the advent of the year. The process in which you are engaged is complex and enduring, and involves letting go of those factors of your personality and life structure that no longer serve you.
