Cancer Horoscope for March 2017

This is another month of intensity for you Cancer, and yet also of the opportunity to take away some fresh insights, as you are able to read between the lines of events and stories. Even though your work in the outer world is buzzing like a super productive hive, although at times in unexpected directions, your primary mission is to glean wisdom from everything that is happening to you now, including on the relationship front. In spite of business accolades you are very tied to your own inner world, just as the astrological currents have stimulated your thirst for an expanded worldview that depends on more fully understanding yourself in these deeper layers of your psyche. In the midst of turns and twists of circumstance, and in spite of preconceived ideas, you are being gently nudged to embrace the fundamental paradox of existence and to surrender to what is.

Eclipse seasons are always important for the Crab because the Crab is ruled by the Moon. This month begins after a solar eclipse (Feb 26th) in your 9th house of religion, mysticism, travel, beliefs, and higher education. You may therefore find yourself traveling, learning, or broadening your horizons (both inner and outer) this month, or you may find that the call to travel or expand your mind has recently entered your life and is making its presence felt now and for at least several months to come (eclipses have staying power!). Sometimes a solar eclipse in the 9th house simply indicates that you are renewing your faith or commitment to something you believe in but have drifted away from in recent months or years.

Meanwhile, the tone of the entire month of March is set by the planets Venus, Uranus, and Mars in Aries in your 10th house of career and calling, opposite Jupiter in your 4th house of home, family and psychological foundations. For Cancer, this is a month where growth and expansion are happening all around you. Given your tendency toward shyness, privacy, and emotional security, this month may push you outside of your comfort zone as big changes, strong actions, and possibly even confrontations abound in the work place and at home simultaneously. You may find that you are being called out of the home and into professional drama right at the moment where you are most needed or wanted by your family, or perhaps just the opposite.

On March 4th, Venus will station and then begin her retrograde in your career house for the rest of the month. Since Venus is the ruler of your 4th house of home and family, note how issues related to your home, family, and foundations are influencing issues related to your career or workplace. This tension will continue to be the theme all month, though the first week of March will be particularly intense.
On March 9th, Mars will enter Taurus and your 11th house of friends, allies, and wishes or hopes for the future. We might notice that our friends or allies are challenging us rather than helping us, perhaps because of a strong difference of opinions or values, or we might notice that there are strong forces stepping forward to advocate for us and help us along within a difficult situation.

On March 12th, the Full Moon will fall across your 3rd and 9th house axis, highlighting the themes of your beliefs or convictions alongside of various challenges to these. Traditionally the 9th house was related to religious affiliation, whereas the 3rd house has sometimes been compared (opposite the 9th) as the house of the heretic. Overall, we might therefore say that this month’s changes at home and in the work place are being deeply influenced by what you believe, how strongly you believe it, and how willing you are to compromise your beliefs, or not.
