The July month comes on slowly for you, Aries, and then starts to gain momentum although in directions that are still distinctly inner contemplative, as well as transformational, in their impact. As July gets going, we have the Mercury retrograde in Cancer, an influence that goes on all month, when you take Mercury’s post-retrograde shadow into account. With Mercury moving backward through your home and family sector, you could be re-thinking anything that has to do with your dwelling space or its denizens. Familial inter-communications might be especially front and center in your introspective review and your ruminations. There is also the possibility that inner wounding of one sort or another might come forward to raise its difficult and yet rewarding head. This could be an especially productive time for you to tackle such things. Mercury will station on the 23rd, which could also be difficult, since Chiron is again activated, and then will gradually straighten out. The major theme of this rather tricky July month is transformational. This affects every aspect of your life, from community connections to self-worth and identity, to intuitional communicative events. From the 4th on, you are more aware than ever about what is going on beneath the surface layers of your psyche, and how that activity could wind up being a total game-changer for you as this volatile summer continues on apace.

Previous New Moon in Gemini – June 14th
If last month's New Moon sparked a conversation, idea, or new way of looking at a situation, expect that story to continue developing during the first half of July. Influencing your third sector of communication and learning, this lunation may still be bringing insights, unexpected news, and opportunities to expand your perspective. Conversations could prove especially revealing, while a growing interest or emerging idea begins to take on a life of its own. The Capricorn Full Moon of two weeks later, with the Sun opposite in Cancer, took place just two days before the start of the present month, and emphasized your outer statement, since Capricorn represents your tenth sector of vocation and how you show up in public. In general, issues of private versus public might also affect you for July’s first two weeks.
Mars Conjunct Uranus – July 1st - 5th
With your planetary ruler Mars involved, this Mars-Uranus conjunction can bring a fast-moving and potentially disruptive period surrounding communication, travel, and daily logistics. Unexpected news may arrive, plans could change suddenly, or a conversation may force an issue into the open. You might feel especially restless, reactive, or eager to take action, too! While this transit can coincide with disagreements, surprises, or abrupt changes of course, it can also deliver the clarity needed to make an overdue decision and break free from a limiting mindset or circumstance. What begins as a disruption could ultimately help you reclaim a greater sense of agency. It may also prove to be quite significant that Neptune in your sign, along with Pluto in your social sector are aspecting Mars-Uranus by sextile and trine. This implies that the transformational effects of Pluto are more greatly prominent through July’s early days, affecting not only your communications but also your friendships and group affiliations, which might be altering in some powerful way, as you grow and evolve. Your identity is also changing, and this could be interpreted, through Neptune’s lens, as confusing or illusory, and ultimately less material in its scope.
Sun Square Saturn – July 3rd - 7th
You might feel torn between the pressure to keep pushing forward and the need to tend to your emotional wellbeing. Responsibilities, long-term goals, or a desire to stay strong could compete with what your inner world is asking of you. Personal fears, doubts, or questions surrounding security may become more apparent now, too. While delays to emotional satisfaction are possible, family matters or domestic concerns can also require additional patience. The challenge now may be finding a more sustainable way to balance personal ambitions with your obligations at home.
Venus Enters Virgo – July 9th
As Venus enters Virgo, you may feel inspired to create greater harmony between your daily duties and physical wellbeing. Finding more pleasure in your routines, work, or health practices is on the docket. However, as Venus builds toward a square with Uranus, an unexpected conversation, realization, or change of plans could disrupt your usual rhythm! Fortunately, Uranus is also supported by Neptune, Pluto, and Jupiter, suggesting that these surprises can help you align with a more inspiring future, encourage meaningful personal growth, and bring greater joy, creativity, or fulfillment into your life.
Mercury Cazimi in Cancer – July 12th
A few times every year, Mercury lines up perfectly with the Sun for a powerfully mind-clearing and invigorating moment called a Mercury Cazimi. In your fourth sector of home, family, and emotional foundations, a revealing insight this afternoon or evening could help you better understand a longstanding emotional pattern or the roots of a current situation. You may see yourself, your family dynamics, or your living situation with greater clarity than usual. This awareness can help you move through old feelings and make room for a more supportive future.
New Moon in Cancer – July 14th
This Cancer New Moon plants the seeds for a fresh beginning surrounding your home, family, and emotional foundations. With Mercury in retrograde through Cancer as well, tightly accompanying the Moon in this lunation, your path forward is additionally likely to encourage you to revisit unfinished domestic matters, family conversations, or lingering emotional concerns, along the way to projected new beginnings! It could be wise in this astrological environment to look backwards as well as forward, remembering as well that interior matters like intuition, emotions, and your instincts are likely to influence your decisions as much or more than logic alone can do. Because Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are still aligned by trine and sextile within their respective signs, transformational pressure is still in the air and in your heart in this powerful moment, making a strong case for spiritual evolution as a life factor for the remainder of the current month, and on into the next during this climactic summer.
Sun Enters Leo – July 22nd
The Sun bursts into fellow fire sign Leo, shining a light on joy, creativity, romance, and the parts of life that remind you how good it feels to express yourself. Leo Season begins with the Sun immediately squaring Chiron in Taurus, suggesting that old insecurities surrounding self-worth, your talents, or even financial stability could briefly overshadow your confidence. Even so, this tension may help reveal where you've been undervaluing yourself or allowing fear to diminish your gifts. By month's end, you may find yourself feeling far more confident embracing the people, passions, and experiences that bring you genuine happiness.
Mercury Stations Direct in Cancer – July 23rd
Home and family matters shift and eventually begin moving forward again as Mercury stations direct in Cancer. Over the next two weeks of the post-retrograde shadow period, conversations with relatives may become easier, while decisions surrounding your living situation could grow more straightforward. If you've been reorganizing your home, reflecting on family dynamics, or reconsidering where you want to put down roots, this station marks a turning point toward resolution. By the end of the first week of August, you'll likely find it easier to communicate your needs and begin making more lasting decisions.
Sun Conjunct Jupiter, Opposite Pluto, Sextile Uranus + Trine Neptune – July 25th - 29th The Sun joins Jupiter in Leo, amplifying your desire to create, celebrate, connect with what brings you joy, and express yourself more fully! Yet this powerful conjunction also opposes Pluto, suggesting your relationship with happiness, pleasure, or creative fulfillment may be undergoing a profound shift. You could begin recognizing how you've outgrown certain ways of seeking enjoyment, how your creative voice is evolving, or how some friendships and group dynamics no longer gel with you. Rather than shrinking yourself to meet others' expectations, this transit encourages a more honest and possibly vulnerable expression of who you are. Supportive aspects to Neptune and Uranus, while still challenging, can help you trust your evolving sense of self while remaining open to unexpected ideas and new social connections.
Full Moon in Aquarius – July 29th
This Aquarius Full Moon marks a powerful culmination surrounding your dreams for the future, long-term objectives, and friendships. With the Moon conjunct Pluto and directly opposing the Sun-Jupiter conjunction in Leo, emotions may feel especially intense as something reaches a breaking point or can no longer be ignored. You could recognize which relationships support your growth, where group dynamics have become limiting, or how your future vision has outgrown the people around you. Strong emotions, a desire for control, or the urge to make something happen may be difficult to ignore, while simultaneously feeling a powerful desire to express yourself, embrace what brings you joy, and share more of yourself with the world around you. Fortunately, Uranus lends a helping hand, making it easier to approach old problems from a fresh perspective, think more innovatively, and recognize where both your personal growth and the transformation of the future you're working toward are unfolding at the very same time.
