This is another crucial month for you, Aries, with depth researches continuing to provide clues to your development. The powerful New Moon of Saturday, May 4th, landing in the middle degrees of financially- and materially-oriented Taurus, is both practical and eventful for you, and yet also partakes of the beyond. In one way this lunar cycle is all about the Benjamins, and yet in another framework, the real issue how and where you can harness your energy to better serve the dictates of your heart. Your worldview is expanding; your concept of your work in the world has been evolving mightily in recent months, and there are further surprises and changes of direction in store for you. Everything you hold dear is undergoing a sea change. Articulating and validating your values is what is really on the line. That is the subtle and vitally important message of these daunting times, questioning how well you can attune yourself to begin to act strictly from the standpoint of what you hold inside.
The following was written by this month's guest columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School
The month begins just as Mercury in Aries in your first house is conjunct Eris and squaring Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn in your tenth house of career, and just as Mercury and your ruling planet Mars, in Gemini, are forming a sextile with mutual reception (May 1st to May 3rd). With Saturn and Pluto having also recently turned retrograde in your tenth house of career, you are likely considering a difficult decision, concentrating your mental and physical energy on something very intensely at work, or communicating your principles and beliefs with greater conviction and force within the workplace. With Mars also set to oppose Jupiter in Sagittarius in your ninth house of higher beliefs between May 4th and 6th you may also be arguing, debating, or fighting for something you believe in, or challenging conventional wisdom or authority figures.
On May 4th, the New Moon in Taurus will fall in your second house of money, resources, and expenditures, placing an emphasis on activities and events related to these topics in the lunar cycle ahead. With Venus also set to enter Taurus on the May 15th, this should be a good month for growing your business or for partnering with others in financial matters. However, you should also be careful of overspending, or overindulging, especially during the second half of the month once Venus enters your second house where she is sometimes prone to high living.
Between May 7th and 8th, Mercury will conjoin Uranus in Taurus, which may also provide you with some sudden flashes of insight and innovation related to finances or business. However, don’t be surprised if it also brings a few unexpected expenses along with it.
Between May 6th to May 10th, Venus in your home sign of Aries will move through squares to Saturn, the South Node, and Pluto in Capricorn in your tenth house of career while also conjuncting Eris in Aries and making a trine to Jupiter in Sagittarius in your ninth house of the higher mind. As you are defining your commitments and values more clearly this month, certain professional relationships are defining themselves and taking on greater importance. However, the need to make a serious commitment or decisions about the future is also weighing on you. It’s important to consider the idea that just because something is good, and true, doesn’t mean it will not come with imperfections. You will need a dose of patience and compromise to move through this period gracefully, without becoming overly rigid or inflexible.
Between May 10th and May 15th, the Sun in Taurus in your second house of money, resources, and expenditures will make trines to Saturn, the South Node, and Pluto in your tenth house of career, creating a time of productivity and hard work. This is a favorable time for building or restructuring a business, or for making practical changes at work or in relation to finances.
On May 16th, your ruling planet Mars will enter the sign of its fall, Cancer, and move into the fourth house of home, family, roots, and property, where it will stay well into June. Don’t be surprised if you are feeling emotionally conflicted about issues related to home or family, or if you are feeling weaker or more vulnerable in the days and weeks to come. This transit reflects a time of increased emotional volatility and sensitivity in relation to your domestic sphere of activities.
On May 18th, the Full Moon in Scorpio will land in your eighth house of death, rebirth, and other people’s money, while Venus conjoins Uranus in Taurus in your second house of money, resources, and expenditures. This is yet another powerful moment of catharsis or revolution this month that is also related to money and finances, but also to friendships or romantic relationships.
On May 22nd to the 24th, Mars in Cancer in your fourth house of home, family, and foundations will square Chiron, the Wounded Healer, in Aries in your 1st house, suggesting a moment of deeper emotional, and possibly even physical healing. There may be some connection here to family or ancestral karma, as well.
Finally, from May 29th to the 30th, Mercury in Gemini in your third house of the mind and communication will square Neptune in Pisces in your twelfth house of dissolution and surrender, and then oppose Jupiter in Sagittarius in your ninth house of the higher mind. This sequence points to a time of deeper questioning, doubt, learning, surrendering, introspection, and listening to close the month. You are likely feeling of “two minds” about something all month long, but don’t worry, by the end of the month a mental and emotional synthesis is possible.
