Welcome to an inner-oriented month, Aries. You are well and truly slowed down this first half of April, while Saturn is strong overhead and Mercury has been in reverse motion through your sign. This is a challenging time, and also an opportunity for you to get a better handle on where you are heading with your life. Discovering and ruminating upon your most deeply ch Erished values has become increasingly important as you contemplate necessary changes. You are very committed to work and career, and you find yourself holding steady through a series of obstacles that you have the stamina and the perspicacity to overcome. Yet, still, the occasional wild hair takes over and you feel the urge to pursue departures from the acceptable status quo that you also ch Erish. It is necessary that you pay full attention to these rebellious impulses, because they might well contain the clues for inspiring the next stage of your life adventure.
The following was written by this month's guest columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School
As the Month of April begins, Mars, your ruler, is coming to conjoin with Saturn in your tenth house of career, achievements, authority figures, and public reputation. This is a hard-working transit that should keep you busy and focused. You might be working under great stress or pressure, but this planetary combination tends to thrive when there are deadlines and the need for productivity and tangible results. This transit will perfect on April 1st and April 2nd, but its effects will be at play throughout the month.
At the same time, on April 1st, Mercury will be cazimi (closely conjunct) with the Sun in Aries in your first house of self/health and new beginnings, and then on April 5th Mercury will square Saturn in your 10th house of career. You may find that you are empowered to speak, teach, or communicate your thoughts and ideas very persuasively at this time, or you might be ready to accept a powerful commission or task from someone in power. Because you are often the leader of the pack, remember to empower others and to encourage others to express their own voices, as well. Don’t be too rigid but be careful not to compromise your values, either. You are at your best when advocating passionately for something while also inspiring others around you.
Between April 7th and April 11th, Venus will be moving through Taurus in your second house of finances, possessions, and values, and making a trine to both Saturn and Mars in Capricorn in your tenth house of career. This is a good time to see promotion, growth, or returns from all the hard work taking place in your career house this month. It’s also a fitting time for making allegiances or finding agreement between yourself and others in the work place or surrounding financial negotiations. This transit requires patience and tact. We’re talking about a conglomeration of planets in the earth signs here, so that it might help you to remember not to bulldoze or steamroll toward your goals. Take your time and allow things to develop naturally.
Late in the evening of April 10th and into April 11th the Sun in Aries in your first house (the house of self, new beginnings, and health), will make a powerful square to Pluto in the 10th house of career. This is a cathartic and transformative moment for you. Your reputation might be on the line in some way, or you might be challenging authority or tradition, or struggling to lead a project or group of people through a challenging experience. Remember not to let any power granted to you go to your head, and keep in mind the larger spiritual purpose that you are here to serve. Don’t be surprised if you are also personally challenged to make some positive changes at this time.
April 15th to 18th the Sun in Aries will conjoin with the rebellious and unpredictable Uranus in Aries in your first house, exact just days after a New Moon in your first house on April 15th. This is a very powerful moment of creative revolution, independence, rebellion, new beginnings, or liberation. Expect to feel fired up and expect to face the temptation to burn bridges or go it alone. This transit could represent a breakthrough for you, but it could also represent a self-centered meltdown. With the rest of the planets working together very harmoniously right now, it’s either a time to inject your own unique contribution into the mix, or it’s a time to be very careful of knocking things over and ruining potential collaborations with others.
Between April 16th and 17th, Venus in Taurus in your second house of finances, possessions, and values, will oppose Jupiter in your eighth house of death, transformation, and shared resources, while also making a trine to Pluto in your 10th house of career. You may find that you are considering a new financial or work-related opportunity, or you might be considering the balance of power and resources within your relationships while simultaneously looking at new opportunities professionally. Because all these planets are, again, in earth and water signs, and you are a fire sign, it’s important to be tactful and patient. This transit will require the art of subtlety. No matter how charged up you might be feeling, and no matter how tempted you might be to take the reigns and charge forward, there are powerful changes brewing that will require you to work cooperatively for the common good. Be especially careful about big expenses or big projects that will put you into debt.
Finally, on April 26th, Mars will conjoin with Pluto in Capricorn in your tenth house of career, public reputation and authority. Expect a massive release of power, force, and vigor in the work place. Be careful not to get into power struggles with authority figures, unless it’s necessary or unless the truth needs to be spoken. Try to be as tactful as you can, but don’t be surprised if you are caught up in the power and dynamism of the moment. This transit has the power to propel you forward past your old limitations, but it may also indicate that something has expired and that some confrontation or fated moment of transformation is before you. As an Aries, you were made for moments like these. Just remember not to let your ego get in the way and let the peaceful warrior light your path!
