Mercury Stations Direct Trine Pluto: Transforming Collective Thought

We’re closing in on one of the peak moments of this entire and unusually strong Mercury Retrograde period this evening, as the quicksilver planet of mental pursuits and communication stations direct. This happens today, September 21 at 10:31pm PST. After this, Mercury takes two weeks to move through the second half of Virgo one more time, recovering completely from its Shadow period and returning to the degree at which it began its retrograde, the very last degree of Virgo, on October 6th.
This has indeed been a potent Retrograde period, complete with two intense eclipses. Now, as Mercury stations, and its influence amplifies, this is echoed poignantly by the partile trine that it makes with transformative Pluto. This speaks to Virgoic themes of massive re-organization and purification as this retrograde, now changing form, asks us to integrate all that we’ve sorted out. This shapes itself into the new structure that is beginning to emerge, both collectively and individually, in correspondence with Pluto’s long journey through Capricornian realms of structure and boundaries.
The extremely powerful aspect of Mercury trine Pluto, as Mercury stations, and as Pluto himself is slowing down, preparing to station direct on the 26th, has the potential to support us in transforming our thoughts, our higher mind understandings, and our belief structures. That which is no longer serving each of us to live in our most aligned, authentic, and joyful selves continues to be shed. This can look chaotic and turbulent while we cling to outdated ways of thinking and feeling, and yet can appear more easeful when we consciously choose new and more empowered paths of being.
This is therefore a good time to become very watchful of the thoughts that are coming through your head, remembering that it is, to a degree, with our thoughts that we create our reality. At this juncture you might want to pause and ask yourself “What thought am I creating right now? How does it feel? Is there a different thought that feels better, and is it one that I can choose in this moment?” Another question that might arise: Is this thought supportive of love or of fear? Of joy or sorrow? This is not to say that positive thinking is easy to come by, or will suddenly dissolve the world's pain and anguish, or even your own. Yet this exercise, of pausing to watch your thoughts without condemnation or shame, or allowing to let your mind go on chattering, and then being mindful with your choices, has the potential to put you back in touch with your true nature as creator of your own reality, and arbiter of your own power.
If, as individuals, more and more of us choose to do this, then collective belief systems begin to be unstuck as well, and our culture is reborn.
