Progressions

Progressions are a symbolic method for tracking inner development over time. Rather than representing real-time planetary movement like transits, progressions advance the natal chart forward according to a time-based key—most commonly, one day after birth equals one year of life. This creates a dynamic "progressed chart" that reflects how a person evolves psychologically and emotionally as life unfolds.

The most widely used technique is Secondary Progressions, which move each planet and point in the chart forward by its actual motion in the days following birth. This method captures the natural variation in planetary speed and reflects deeply personal changes, especially through the progressed Sun, Moon, and angles.

Another technique, known as Solar Arc Directions, moves all planets forward at the same rate as the progressed Sun—roughly one degree per year. This creates a more uniform system that highlights major life shifts, often used for timing key events.

In TimePassages, you can view your Secondary Progressions in both chart and list form, alongside interpretations of the aspects they form to your natal planets. Progressions offer subtle yet meaningful insights, showing how your internal landscape shifts over time, often reflecting periods of growth, readiness, and long-term change.
