Virgo Horoscope for August 2026

Posted on August 1, 2026 by Henry Seltzer of ASTROGRAPH.COM

This August month is another extremely volatile one, Virgo, especially with regard to the configuration of Mercury, your sign’s ruler, in the various lunations that describe the current astrology. For one thing, while Mercury is now direct as August begins, in the recent mid-July New Moon that still conditions the first eleven days of the current month it was retrograde and close to Sun and Moon in your social sector. This gives greater prominence to friendships and group affiliations that you favor as you continue the review and revisioning of their import in your life. At the timing of the very powerful New Moon and Solar Eclipse on August 12th, the impact of which cannot be overstated, your ruler Mercury lies at 5° Leo, opposed to Pluto and trine Neptune for transpersonal effects. It might be that your habitual everyday behaviors are shifting in ways that allow you to grow and expand by discarding certain limiting preconceptions or behavior patterns, adopting more idealized relationship rules, or allowing greater compassion in your dealing with others. A profound shift is in the works within you, and it partakes of what is here and now, as part of the physical 3D world that surrounds you, and also of what is distinctly beyond the physical. The fact that Venus, too, lies at the 5° mark of her own sign of Libra in this eclipse configuration resonates with Mercury’s position there, and reinforces the emphasis on these same outer planets since Venus is opposed to Neptune and trine Pluto. On August 27th, the 4° Pisces Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon in your opposite sign makes a yod from Pluto and Neptune to the Sun in your sign, so that this is another powerful eclipse that will shake things up – hopefully for good eventual effect. Venus, occupying your sector of resources and values, is in aspect to Pluto and also Uranus in this second eclipse, so that Venus adds quite an extra charge to the plethora of energy in these potent and long-lasting lunations.

Previous New Moon in Cancer – July 14th
Where your life is headed — plus who's walking that road with you — may feel open to revision through the first half of August, as the lunation cycle from the recent mid-July New Moon could presage. The Cancer New Moon from last month continues to give life to your eleventh sector, drawing you toward nourishing friendships, long-term hopes, and the communities that make you feel part of something larger than yourself. Before charging toward the next goal, though, the recent Mercury retrograde — your ruling planet — is asking you to look back before moving forward: unfinished dreams, people you once built things with, or ambitions you quietly shelved. Wandering back through them may point to what your future has been missing. The outer planets were all emphasized, continuing into all of the present month. Uranus sits angular at the peak of your chart, where it could shake loose something unexpected in your career or public standing. Neptune blurs the boundaries around intimacy and shared resources, while Pluto intensifies your creativity, romantic inclinations, and yearning for pleasure.

Sun Trine Saturn – August 4th - 8th
This could be a deeply reflective little stretch, and a surprisingly productive one. As the Sun makes you more conscious of your fears and the ways you may hold yourself back, you could easily find them easier to face as the Sun trines Saturn! That inner self-awareness supports Saturn's push to handle intimacy, shared resources, and even crisis with more maturity. Making peace with old defenses could deepen closeness in a lasting way — and you might even receive money through a loss or ending, or move through grief with more grace.

Venus Enters Libra – August 6th
Money may come a little more easily now, as Venus lifts your sense of self-worth and predicts the ability to receive more easily. You might feel more comfortable charging your full rate, asking for more, or simply noticing that income arrives with less strain. It's well-timed, too — your career or vocation is likely shifting, and the trines to Uranus and Pluto connect that change to a genuine evolution in how you work day-to-day! The ease Venus brings could point you toward smarter, more sustainable ways to make a living. Simultaneously, Venus opposes Neptune, which can blur the money picture temporarily — you might grow hazy about combining finances with someone, overspend, or overestimate just how much you deserve.

Mercury Enters Leo – August 9th
As your ruling planet, Mercury, moves through your twelfth sector of rest, reflection, and the unconscious while approaching Jupiter, you may feel drawn to spend more time processing your thoughts, trusting your intuition, or making sense of recent experiences. Quiet breakthroughs or private conversations could bring a welcome sense of peace and perspective. During the first week, however, changing responsibilities or an important development at work may become difficult to ignore, prompting you to question your future direction, long-held beliefs, or whether you're pursuing the path that's truly right for you.

Mars Enters Cancer – August 11th
You may feel compelled to confront tensions within your friendships or community while pushing harder toward your long-term goals as Mars enters your eleventh sector of community, friendships, and aspirations. During Mars' first few days in Cancer, blurred expectations surrounding shared finances or trust may leave you second-guessing your next move, even as you're eager to enjoy the resources you have. Allowing yourself to learn as you go may strengthen your confidence in the road ahead.

Solar Eclipse in Leo – August 12th
The Solar Eclipse New Moon in Leo could mark the beginning of a deeply transformative chapter. Occurring in your twelfth sector of unconscious process and inner work alongside the South Node, this eclipse may coincide with the shedding of buried patterns, hidden fears, or ways in which you've unknowingly worked against yourself — making room for a new understanding of the dark places within you. The grand cross involved in this eclipse highlights the potential strain between your need for solitude or alone time, versus your daily responsibilities, the way you think, and the beliefs you hold. Mercury and Pluto in opposition could prompt important decisions or intense reflection surrounding your work, routines, or health, making it increasingly difficult to separate your professional direction from your psychological wellbeing. As the ruler of both your first and tenth sectors, the fact that Mercury plays an especially significant role in this eclipse really matters and suggests that these inner sorts of shifts could ultimately reshape both your identity and life path. Chiron, the Wounded Healer, could bring up any doubts you have about  your beliefs, education, or the confidence in your own perspective, while the new Nature planet Haumea supports the birth of a new way of thinking, communicating, and approaching your everyday life. Additionally, Venus’ trine to both Pluto and Uranus supports you, as your view on daily duties and career are rapidly altering, to being prioritizing your self-worth.

Mercury Conjunct Jupiter – August 14th - 15th
A spiritual insight or newfound sense of faith could greatly capture your attention as Mercury, your planetary ruler, joins Jupiter in your twelfth sector of the unconscious, inner work, and retreat. With these curious planets working together, you're supported in exploring your typically hidden thought patterns with greater curiosity and compassion, helping you uncover self-limiting motivations or fears. While some discoveries may feel uncomfortable at first, they may offer a powerful opportunity for healing, closure, and personal growth.

Sun Enters Virgo – August 22nd
Virgo Season is all about you, bringing greater self-awareness and possibly a clearer sense of who you are. You could feel increasingly confident in the direction you're heading as you make meaningful adjustments to your approach to life. The moment Virgo Season begins, Venus opposes Saturn, likely placing financial limitations on your ability to indulge or spend freely. Around August 27th, an unexpected career opportunity, change in direction, or public recognition could challenge your sense of identity.

Mercury Enters Virgo – August 25th
Life may be especially busy, yet flow somewhat smoothly as Mercury (your ruling planet) enters your sign, and it’s home sign of Virgo! You'll likely be more decisive, articulate, and confident in your judgment, making it easier to tackle important decisions, solve problems, and trust yourself. You could be more curious, social and craving of movement as well!

Lunar Eclipse in Pisces – August 27th
Relationships of all kinds may enter a meaningful new chapter under this deeply feeling Pisces Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon. Occurring within your seventh sector of partnership and relationship, this eclipse could coincide with major beginnings and endings involving marriage, dating, business partnerships, clients, or other one-on-one commitments. While one dynamic may be evolving, the North Node leaves you feeling inspired to cultivate stronger, more growth-oriented connections moving forward. Adding another layer to this eclipse, it follows immediately after a Mercury Cazimi in Virgo, offering sharper insight into your identity, personal priorities, appearance, or the direction you'd like your life to take. You may better recognize what feels authentic, communicate your needs with greater confidence, and make decisions that genuinely reflect who you're becoming. At the same time, Uranus squares both the Sun and this eclipse from your tenth sector of public life, suggesting that unexpected developments involving your career, reputation, or professional direction could simultaneously reshape your sense of self and the dynamics within your closest relationships. Lastly, a Yod to the Sun, from Pluto and Neptune, adds another layer to this eclipse. As your sense of self becomes more clearly defined, changing work responsibilities and new developments involving trust, intimacy, or shared resources could make it difficult to remain exactly as you are.
