This is yet another whale of a month for you, Cancer, with an emphasis on home and family concerns as well as inner work. Many astrological threads combine for you in October, plus your own sense of identity is also challenged. It is important now that you consider what comes from your own internal principles as the primary – and perhaps the only – basis for your vocational choices; not the consensus or what is a leftover from early conditioning. As you navigate these connections between home life and career choices there is also to be considered the potential for running up against inner wounding. The Full Moon of the evening of October 6th is a time when your awareness there might come to something of a head, with also the Last Quarter Moon a week later, on the 13th, a time when your consciousness in this area might be especially active. Then too, the late Libra New Moon of the 21st could bring up further issues of identity, free-flowing creativity, as well as home and family issues. The concept of inner wounding that seeks resolution through these upcoming lunations might have been festering deep within you for years, maybe, contains also the theme for its release, which is admit the pain, choosing to accept rather than looking away or trying to hide from it, acknowledging that stuff happens, and that your past response might have been to bury the hurt away rather than to try to understand it. There might be a walled-off part of yourself to be rescued. When you welcome this hurt and lonely part of you to the table of your more mature and resourced awareness, this can work wonders in terms of healing what is ready to be healed.

The recent solar eclipse in late Virgo of September 21st, governing the first twenty days of the October month, is bringing you an incentive to get to know your surroundings better, the space you inhabit, and to expand your horizon through conversations, exchanges and excursions in your neighborhood. Uranus and Pluto are quite active in the New Moon eclipse and in the month ahead. You may sense that you are in need of new perspectives and these may not necessarily come via traveling to the other side of the world but instead, the fresh outlook you seek could come from looking at things from a different angle. Jupiter in your sign for another nine months means you are blessed with the perfect amount of curiosity while your intuition is also abundant deep within your psyche, which might make it easier to absorb foreign viewpoints and philosophies as you attempt to make sense of a changing world. You are exploring in a natural way your own depths, which can lead you to the depths of others as well.
On the 1st, Mercury in Libra squares Jupiter in Cancer as Venus in Virgo moves closer to a conjunction with the South Node of the Moon, perfecting on the 4th; and these two aspects emphasize the need to pay attention to the details, sort out what is obsolete and cut through the noise.
The Full Moon culminates in the fiery sign of Aries on October 6th, shining a spotlight on your ambitions and your career accomplishments. Not only should it feel easier to take stock of where you are at with your goals, but it might be a great moment to acknowledge and take a stance for what you are passionate about. It is also possible that inner wounding could rear its head, with an emphasis on Chiron, the wounded healer. You could benefit by regarding this as an opportunity to work with these ancient feelings and make better connections within yourself.
With so many planets in Water signs at this time including Mars in Scorpio which rules over the Full Moon, what is being magnified is your creativity and your ability to fully engage with what you love. You may feel inclined to ‘’level up’’ your offerings in this regard.
Also on the 6th, Mercury enters Scorpio and forms a square with Pluto in Aquarius which should render this task much easier. If communication with someone feels like you’ve been pulling teeth, you might be able to get to the bottom of it with the right tactics path this time.
On the 7th and 8th, the aspects following the Full Moon include a beautiful sextile between Venus in Virgo and Jupiter in Cancer that could function to support the organization of your ideas into a more coherent picture.
The second weekend of October, from the 10th to the 11th, Venus in Virgo opposes Saturn in Pisces, and this might bring obstacles and also a factor of extra commitment to Venus-ruled activities such as friendships, goals, home and family concerns, or your relationships. Venus enters Libra on the 13th in the timing of the Moon’s Last Quarter, and immediately gets to work making aspects to Neptune, Uranus and Pluto which brings renewed activity to these areas.
Pluto also stations direct late on the 13th hinting at the profound changes currently taking place within you and outside of yourself. Where there is change, there is also opportunity as they say and you must first trust the vision before you can see the results.
It might be easier to surrender to where the tides want to take you in the days leading to the New Moon in Libra on the 21st which forms a square with Jupiter in Cancer and carries loads of new energy in the domestic sector of your chart. The status quo may not be enough to sustain at this time and you could feel like you need to level up your game. The impetus to follow through with an idea could be strong and there isn’t much in the astrology to stop you from going after what you want. With Mars and Mercury conjunct in Scorpio energizing your passions, you may feel a kind of hunger that is difficult to satiate and the skies in the later part of October could also support efforts on your part to be more creative and to move even further toward what you love.
You may also have to calibrate your enthusiasm with a degree of strategy for such is the nature of Mercury in Scorpio moving through its shadow phase until it turns retrograde on November 9th. There is a lot of energy for planning that is evident as well, and yet you also might take your cue to be more deliberate with what you commit to at this time to ensure your success down the road.
A grand trine in Water colors the end of the month between Jupiter in your sign, Saturn in Pisces, and Mars in Scorpio, your creativity sector, culminating on the 29th, and may bring a tendency towards excess along with an opportunity to make a lasting move of leaps and bounds in your chosen direction. The real challenge might come from knowing what among your endeavors is excessive versus what could pay off.
