This is another powerful month for you, Pisces, when your sense of identity is even further strengthened, and when you are spending considerable time thinking about the contents of your own inner world. The recent Scorpio New Moon landed in your sector of higher mind, beliefs, and worldview, suggesting that this are of your life has become a focus for you at this ending of the year. You are transforming in the way you see yourself at the deeper layers of your psyche, and this includes commitment to your own inner truth. With the Sagittarius New Moon of December 12th falling in your career sector, you are seeking to match your outer world deeds to your inward principles and values. This is a thoughtful time, with Mercury also now in retrograde, in your sector of future plans and societal contribution. You are attempting to investigate and eventually apply an important sense that you have of yourself, of honor in activities that have an impact on others, trying for what you yourself would like to receive if it were the other way around. You could be arriving at the conclusion that business and personal decisions can be made on the basis of right action and truth-telling, and still be beneficial for yourself alone; and perhaps even more so.
The following was written by our guest columnist Elodie St-Onge Aubut of Ninth House Astrology
The month begins in the wake of the potent mid-November Scorpio New Moon and in the midst of the current lunation cycle that was then initiated and which has eleven days still to go as of December 1st. This involves the higher mind sector of your solar chart, which relates to journeys, both literal and metaphorical, and experiences that can open your mind and perspectives towards new frameworks as you evolve. You could be craving something out of the ordinary in December’s early going, something that can pull you out of your routine and Perhaps you could also look into signing up for a class or planning a trip somewhere that could feel far away from the pressure you may be feeling in other parts of your life. The planet Saturn at the very beginning of your sign is aspected by the new Nature planet Haumea bringing you a serious sense of commitment to be feeling into your innermost values and to start applying them to the ways in which you spend your time and where you invest your energies.
On December 1st, Mercury enters Capricorn and forms a sextile with Saturn in Pisces from the 1st to the 2nd, emphasizing your roles and responsibilities within your community. Something could transpire during this first week of December that may need to be revisited down the road as this aspect will occur again on the 21st as Mercury retrogrades.
Venus in Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn on the 2nd and the 3rd before entering Scorpio on the 4th and forming a trine with Saturn in Pisces on the 5th. Power struggles could surface at this time and yet things could easily get smoothed over with the right approach.
On the 6th, Neptune stations direct in your sign which could boost your sense of your own identity. Prominent Saturn in this first part of the month may also help delineate better boundaries with others in the coming weeks and make greater distinction between altruism and sacrifice.
The Sagittarius New Moon arrives on December 12th, and is a dynamic one for you as it takes place in the sector of your chart that symbolizes your career and public life. A new cycle begins related to your ambitions, yet with Neptune in Pisces forming a square to the New Moon this cycle may be more about refining pre-existing forms and working with what you have as opposed to taking on more projects at the risk of scattering your focus in too many directions. Jupiter currently in earthy Taurus rules over this New Moon emphasizing the need to take care of your immediate reality as opposed to fantasizing about unknown and far away pastures.
Mercury in Capricorn turns retrograde the late evening of the New Moon auguring an incoming three-week period of re-assessments, culminating with Mercury’s station direct on the evening of January 1st, followed by another nearly three weeks of the post-retrograde shadow period when Mercury is still wobblily. All this time it is best to research and to reevaluate rather than to innovate. As they say, don’t push the river at this time but let everything flow.
You may feel some confusion regarding what you should focus on especially in the days leading up to the Sun squaring Neptune on the 17th. It might help to give yourself permission to not have all the answers right now. This might be especially so when it comes to what you want versus what you think is expected from you.
On the 21st the Sun enters Capricorn signaling the Capricorn Solstice when it is beginning of Winter in the Northern Hemisphere and a more social time of the year for you. Mercury conjoins the Sun in Capricorn on the 22nd before exiting the sign and re-entering Sagittarius where it will be until mid-January. The days following the Capricorn Solstice may bring ideas about your future vision for yourself, your ambitions, and your overall direction. Mercury being still retrograde so it might be best to wait a while before acting on these. You will want to pay attention to what or whom is capturing your attention at this time as it may offer a path forward.
The Full Moon in Cancer culminates on the 26th, in your compatible Water sign signifying your creative self-expression. The Moon forms a grand trine with Saturn in your sign, and Haumea in early Scorpio, and this is a beautiful planetary pattern signifying better meet-up between your inner truth, your projects, and their active concretization This Full Moon lights up the sector of your chart that relates to pleasure and creativity. Children and romantic partners could feature more prominently for the remainder of the month, and it could be easier to focus on what you love while still meeting your responsibilities.
On the 27th, Mercury still retrograde, and now in Sagittarius, meets up with warrior planet Mars and this pair form a square with Neptune, your ruler, in your sign. This might bring up argumentative discussions which could however be illuminating to you. It may be a good idea to filter your words more deliberately around this time. You could perhaps feel impatient to say what you think in this short period or it may be that other people in your life are coming on more strongly than usual.
The last few days of the old year sees Venus entering Sagittarius on the 29th and Jupiter stationing direct in Taurus on the 30th. Your career or profession, or your overall life direction, may be on your mind or you may be preoccupied with the logistical aspects of your work. New ideas could be coming in and you could be excited to test them. It might be best to keep a sense of proportion and go slow, taking real, actionable steps towards your goals by mid-January to ensure that you reach the objectives you set for yourself for 2024.
