This is an exciting month of challenge and change for you, Virgo. You are seeking an expanded worldview with awareness of your most sincere inner values. Intimacy with yourself and others is a fundamental part of this. The resource of greater self-knowledge is one that you are currently cultivating, and an important effect of this month’s early going. On the 12th, at the timing of the Sagittarius New Moon, your ruler Mercury turns to retrograde motion in your creativity sector, giving you the chance to reflect more deeply about this significant life area, its well-springs and its question marks. As the month continues to unfold, and Mercury re-enters Sagittarius, you may come to further questioning of your family dynamics and issues of your psychological depths. Mercury will not station direct until the evening of January 1st, making this upcoming New Year’s Day a very special changing of the guard. At this New Year’s juncture, your attitude normally shifts, and this time even more so, as you continue the spiritual evolution that is a significant part of your current astrology. As Joni Mitchell was able to articulate in the historic 1960s, “Maybe it is the time of year or maybe it’s the time of man;/ And I don’t know who I am, but life is for learning.”

The Scorpio New Moon that took place in mid-November signaled a powerful new cycle which continues to bring its influence through December and pertaining to your skills, your interactions with others, and the benefits or drawbacks coming from your various partnerships. This first full week December could be a dynamic and creative period however you may find yourself managing a lot of responsibilities at home or at work some of which may not be fully yours to manage alone. Setting your sights on the big picture could help you focus on the essential and let go of small preoccupations that threaten to derail your progress. December is dynamic and making sure you stick to your vision could help you think long term and move forward with the goals you have set for yourself.
The first week of December begins with Mercury entering the sign of Capricorn and forming a supportive trine with Saturn in Pisces on the 2nd. Careful negotiations may be occurring in one of your partnerships and common ground could be reached for the benefits of all parties involved. However, Venus in Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn on the 3rd may bring a hidden power struggle to the surface especially if you are not conscious of your frustrations. Forceful tactics could meet a lot of resistance at this time and it is best to use honey to attract what you want.
Venus enters Scorpio on the 4th and forms a trine with Saturn in Pisces on the 5th which may help smooth things out in your dealings and resolve misunderstandings that may have come up recently. Communication with others should start to feel clearer and more productive and you might be able to get a lot done during the second week of the month.
The Sagittarius New Moon in arrives on December 12th and takes place in the part of your chart that relates to your family, your home and your base of operation. A new cycle begins connected to these topics and you may have your gaze set on new potential emerging thanks to Jupiter in Taurus ruling over this New Moon from the part of your chart related to distant horizons, expansions and long distance travel. There may be new momentum seeded that involves relocation or opportunities related to teaching and learning. The New Moon is also configured in a square with Neptune in Pisces showing that not all new ideas emerging at this time have their basis in reality. It may be important to use discrimination during this period and be deliberate with the intentions you set forward.
Mercury turns retrograde in Capricorn just a few hours after the New Moon, auguring a three week period of revision that may involve logistics around your children, your creative work or your domestic life.
The Sun enters Capricorn on the 21st which signals the Winter Solstice and the longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. This is an important place on the Zodiac and this year, Mercury Retrograde meets the Sun as it enters Capricorn which may bring illuminating insights and support for things related to your children, a creative project or a romantic scenario.
The Full Moon in Cancer arrives a few days later on the 26th culminating in your social sector, making this time particularly ripe for gatherings with friends and loved ones. A flowing trine from Saturn in Pisces highlights long term partnerships while Chiron stationing direct in Aries on the evening of the Full Moon day may offer healing and supportive conversations with loved ones.
The last week of December has an emotional undertow, yet important dialogues with family members may be necessary. Mercury conjoining Mars in Sagittarius on the 27th could bring more direct interactions and at worst some bickering. However, these two are also squaring Neptune which may diffuse some of the tension while also blurring the line between truth and fiction. If you are feeling unsure about a situation with someone, you may have to wait until January to get a clearer picture but either way, lively interactions are sure to fill your home at the end of the year.
Venus enters Sagittarius on the 29th and Jupiter stations direct in Taurus on the 30th connecting once again your domestic sector with the part of your chart that relates to expansion. New horizons may be emerging or new ideas in relation to where you would like to be. The sky may very well be the limit in months ahead so set your sight on the distant peaks calling your name.
