Leo Horoscope for January 2022

Posted on December 30, 2021 by Henry Seltzer of ASTROGRAPH.COM

This is another somewhat difficult and yet also joyous month for you, Leo. As has been the case for much of last year, career choices continue to be all over the place, with a serious mode of commitment there both coming and going, depending on the occasion. Transformation is to be found for you in this important area of outer world commitment, and also in terms of relationship, which requires review and potential revision as you make your way forward. You are very other-oriented at this time, and yet your own spiritual development is on the line. This is as a result of how you handle things during a climactic monthly cycle that leads into the next month as well. Mercury retrogrades in your partnership sector mid-month, beginning on the 14th, and you will want to suspend judgment in every possible way until at least the middle of February. Your awareness is there for your mission of service to the others, and to the collective. The trick, if you are to successfully foster your own growth and evolution, might be that you check within yourself intuitionally to the greatest possible extent.

The astrological month of January begins with a New Moon in Capricorn on the 2nd, in your sector of health and day-to-day routines, which is the perfect opportunity to set your intentions for the year ahead. There is a lot of action in Capricorn this month which means it's a great time to come up with the resolutions that can help you prosper in 2022. Venus is still moving retrograde in Capricorn which could be highlighting your desire to find work that is more meaningful. Uranus in Taurus forms a supportive trine with the New Moon which may bring career opportunities or exciting ideas surrounding your vocation. You may be looking for work that is different from what you are used to and you may be able to make headway especially if you are willing to try new things. Mars is still in Sagittarius for most of January which helps fuel your creativity and your ability to have fun no matter what the circumstances. With some hard work, you may be able to take the first step towards the actualization of a cherished vision. Your collaborations and partnerships may be the anchor that you need to get things done so don’t be afraid to ask for help this month. Remember that there are a lot of people who are willing to help you with your ideas so don’t close yourself off from your support network.

Mercury, which rules over communication, enters the sign of Aquarius at the beginning of January highlighting your partnership sector. You may be in the process of negotiating the terms of an agreement with someone but with Mercury slowing down and preparing to station retrograde mid-month, these negotiations could take longer than expected so be sure to keep that in mind.

You may be wondering about financial backing or other resources that could be provided if you teamed up with someone. Jupiter is moving through the sign of Pisces for the next four and half months which emphasizes the benefits that may come your way from your intimate or business partnerships. From the 4th to the 6th, Venus sextile Neptune could mirror some of these benefits while Venus conjunct the Sun on the 8th could help clarify ongoing logistical or scheduling issues.

On the 14th, Mercury stations retrograde in Aquarius which could throw a kink into ongoing dialogues you may be having with someone. The next three weeks and more could represent a time of redefining pre-existing expectations so that both parties might need to compromise in order to get what they want. There could be a financial component to these negotiations or you may have to assess the give and take of a particular relationship to attempt to ensure everyone can get their needs met.

The Cancer Full Moon on January 17th illuminates hidden aspects of yourself that relate to a real or imagined lack of support or safety. By plunging further to the inside you might also be able to gain ground on self-understanding. You could perhaps be feeling moody and introspective in the days leading up to the Full Moon so that it may be important to acknowledge your powerful emotions at this time. You might be concerned with your health or the health of a loved one or you could simply be feeling more vulnerable than usual. Pluto in Capricorn opposes this Full Moon, and this may bring fears to the surface so that they can be processed. Moving through this period with self-knowledge and awareness can allow you to purge or come to terms with long-buried emotions.

On the 18th, the North and South Nodes of the Moon enter the sign of Taurus and Scorpio, respectively, signaling – come spring – the beginning of one and a half year eclipse cycle in these signs, The eclipses here later this year could progressively bring new opportunities or changing circumstances in your career and in your domestic life.

On January 19th, the Sun enters the Fixed Air sign of Aquarius, your opposite sign and your sector of partnership, highlighting your relationships for the next month. Mercury Retrograde in Aquarius conjunct the Sun on the 23rd may provide additional new insights or helpful perspectives. You may have to sacrifice some of your autonomy in order to receive the help that you want, and you may also be more willing to compromise for others at this time.

At the beginning of the last week of January, on the 24th and the 25th, Mars enters Capricorn and Mercury retrogrades back into Capricorn while Venus stations direct in this sign. All this action in Capricorn takes place in the sector of your chart that relates to your workplace, health and daily routines so this promises to be a busy time.

Venus slows down to a standstill and stations direct on the 29th, in Capricorn as mentioned, and trine Uranus in your career sector. This is a significant time for you, especially with the Sun in Aquarius simultaneously squaring Uranus. The choices for you professionally may greatly magnify or surprises there provide unexpected enlightenment. This also may force you to divide your time between a partner and your responsibility at work. However, you should make sure you have some time left for yourself at the end of the day.
