This is an amazing month for you, Cancer, when much will be entangled, and much reveled, although when also you might need to wait until nearly the end of February for your most usable realizations. You have long been in a process of partnership revolution and reconsideration, where the prospect of discovering greater richness in what you are about there has been relatively constant. Now, this month, with the relationship planet, Venus, still in retrograde in your partnership sector from the previous month to the end of January, and in powerful connection to transformational Pluto as it began, you are really going for it in terms of what you can gather, and ultimately react to. This is highlighted by the mid-month Full Moon in your sign. Your work in the world also increasingly partakes of elements corresponding to your bottom-line principles and values, and only to these. Alterations all around need not be sad – or difficult – when you remember that existence itself consists of an interminable process of change. Mercury also retrogrades on the 14th, instigating an ongoing complementary process of deep reflection on your life’s meaning.

As the month gets started, the Capricorn New Moon in your opposite sign January 2nd indicates the beginning of a new cycle for you that affects most directly your relationship sector. There is already a significant emphasis there, thanks to Venus moving retrograde in Capricorn since the last ten days of December. You might be in the process of reevaluating your alliances, and as well the compromises you make for others. Important relationships could be undergoing some needed changes or you could find yourself negotiating the agreements you have with others. You might be more willing to compromise for friends and lovers this month or simply more preoccupied than usual with the well-being of the people you love. Uranus in Taurus forms a supportive trine with the New Moon which may bring exciting opportunities in the following weeks via an acquaintance or a community involvement. Don’t shy away from reaching out to your broader social network. You may be pleasantly surprised by the new connections you can make now. Jupiter has just re-entered the sign of Pisces (for the next four and a half months) and brings his expansive influence to the part of your chart that relates to education and travel. Your attention might be turning towards new learning experiences and it may be a good time to try something new there or get yourself away from the beaten path.
Mercury also enters Aquarius on the 2nd which continues to bring an emphasis on your partnerships and the contract and commitments you have with others.
The second weekend of the month could be clarifying for your relationship as Venus retrograde meets the Sun in Capricorn for her inferior conjunction. Even if you still feel unsure of what someone has to offer at this time, you may experience a renewed sense of faith that things are as they should be.
On the 10th and the 11th, Mars in Sagittarius square Neptune, with the Sun sextile Neptune, starting off the second week of the month, may imply fogginess, and could help you regain a sense of spiritual perspective or open your mind up to new or unfamiliar experiences.
On the 14th, Mercury stations retrograde in Aquarius and will be moving backward through the zodiac for the next three weeks, finally escaping its retrograde shadow on the 24th of February. You may be oscillating between commitment and freedom so that it helps if you can give yourself some time to think things through before making any drastic decisions or sending ultimatums.
There may well be a build-up of intensity in the days leading to the Full Moon in your sign on January 17th. You could feel more self-aware and this could emphasize your needs and desires in a more dramatic way. The Full Moon is opposed by Pluto in Capricorn which may well bring up fears or obsessions in you or in people who are close to you. It could be harder to keep a sense of perspective at this time and this Full Moon could serve as a catharsis for elements that need to be purged. Your relationship with others might be characterized by this intensity so keep that in mind. There may be opportunities to come to terms with things that are no longer working for you and embrace the transformations that are occurring in you or in your partnerships.
On the 18th, the North and South Nodes of the Moon enter the sign of Taurus and Scorpio respectively signaling the beginning in this spring of one and a half year eclipse cycle in these signs which therefore may progressively bring new opportunities to integrate your skills into a broader framework.
The Sun enters the Fixed-Air sign of Aquarius on the 19th which signals the middle of winter in the Northern Hemisphere. Mercury currently moving retrograde in Aquarius conjunct the Sun a few days later on the 23rd which may bring some insights related to an intimate or business partnership.
A process of negotiation could be underway during the last week of January as Mars enters Capricorn on the 24th and the next day Mercury retrogrades back into this sign of the Sea Goat.
On the 29th, Venus stations direct in Capricorn which could bring important progress. It could still take another month before you are completely clear of a reoccurring issue. The Sun in Aquarius squares Uranus in Taurus also, thus ending the month of January on an unpredictable note. You may have to contend with unforeseen factors so its best to be prepared for the unexpected and stay flexible.
