This month represents another somewhat difficult one for you, Taurus, a continuation of the interesting series of recent configurations that symbolize personal transformation and as well societal change amidst the raging pandemic, with yet recently a hopeful eventual outcome. A stellium of planetary influences in the sign of Aquarius presages that you are currently mulling over in a big way what constitutes your true work in the world, associated with Aquarius for members of your sign. This includes career and public statement/persona and involves as well the retrograde of Mercury through Aquarius, implying a thoroughgoing revision of priorities, together, as you come to novel realizations, with requisite course corrections. In the mid-month timing of the Aquarius New Moon you will find a plethora of fresh new ideas of what can be accomplished when you listen to inner guidance over consensus normative conceptualizations. Your worldview is shifting. It cannot be over-emphasized that this month and the next constitute an entirely climactic period for getting a better handle on where you are heading – and to what end.
The following was written by our resident monthly columnist Elodie St-Onge-Aubut of Ninth House Astrology
Venus, your ruling planet, enters the sign of Aquarius at the beginning of the month to join Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury and the Sun already in Aquarius. Needless to say the spotlight this month is on the Aquarian part of the zodiac corresponding to your sector of career and profession, where you might find the winds of necessary change are indeed blowing. These five planets transiting in Aquarius are bringing a concentrated focus on your vocational goals. With Mars currently transiting in your sign, and squaring the Sun in Aquarius, you may well feel a powerful desire for advancement in your chosen field. You could be called to assert your individual path more openly, or find yourself wanting to integrate more progressive visions into your work without having to censor yourself. There may actually be no available job description the precisely fits right now as you reinvent the meaning, for you, of what it means to be successful.
Venus conjunct Saturn on the 5th to the 7th brings a realistic and serious influence to the first weekend of your month. You could be contemplating big goals with a heavy filter which in turn could make you lose your sense of perspective. There is also the urge to break free however, as Venus almost simultaneously is entered into a square with Uranus in Taurus. This latter could manifest as almost blowing up any rigid assumptions you may be feeling regarding your work or your career direction. You will have to accept the pioneering energy currently flowing into your life if you are to pursue your passions.
Mercury is retrograde in Aquarius for the first three weeks of February, and meets the Sun on the 8th which marks the halfway point of its retrograde cycle. Mercury’s inferior conjunction with the Sun may bring new developments in your career. However, Mercury is still transiting retrograde until the 20th, or longer taking the retrograde shadow into account, which means that projects in the works could still need fine-tuning for you to feel satisfied. You might want things to happen faster than they can, or be caught between what you want to do versus what is possible. There is a delicate balance needed right now between your desire for total personal agency and the compromise you must make for your work or career to evolve. You may feel frustrated by a deadline or be caught between your own notion of personal advancement versus what is expected from you.
You may be able to reconcile some of the inherent tension this month especially once the New Moon in Aquarius occurs on the 11th. You may at this time get the chance to reinvent some of your titles or job description to fit your burgeoning perspectives. Venus conjunct Jupiter at the time of the New Moon offers a good deal of hope – and the possibility for progress – especially in terms of your career objectives. Also, Saturn and Uranus squaring each other at the time of the New Moon highlights the existing tension between your need to have total freedom of expression and the compromise you have to make on a professional level. This first square culminates on the 17th of February, and is within 2 degrees until the 21st, and may bring some form of negotiations. This square will occur again from mid-May to July 4th, and from December 2021 to January 9, 2022, which could mean that fighting for your unique and progressive vision will likely continue to be an ongoing battle throughout 2021.
The Sun enters Pisces on the 18th, reliving some of the pressure you may have felt since the beginning of the month and gradually shift your attention on to your community, your friends and your place within an organization. Mercury stationing direct in Aquarius on the 20th could also start to bring some tangible solutions for professional issues you’ve been wrestling with since mid-January. Powerful developments and the ability to push for your vision is possible as Mars in Taurus trines Pluto in Capricorn on the 24th. Venus enters Pisces on the 25th where she will grace your social sector for the next month increasing the possibilities for enhanced friendship and for networking. Things should start to feel a bit less polarizing as you progress through Pisces season and into the last week of the month.
The Full Moon in Virgo on the 27th culminates in your creative and romantic sector highlighting personal projects, children, self-expression, and what you do for pleasure. This may be a time when you are able to connect clearly with your desires or you might be bringing a creative project to completion. The Virgo Full Moon may also bring up any issues around perfectionism that sometimes keep you from finding your flow. On the other hand, it is a good time to acknowledge how fussing over details may also be part of the creative process. “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.”
