October turns your attention toward your place in the wider world, Aquarius, and the inner experience of walking your path, being visible, and contributing to the greater whole. Early in the month the Sun opposes your traditional ruler Saturn across your axis of mind and meaning, asking you to weigh your everyday thoughts and conversations against the larger truths you are reaching toward. A grand cross adds intensity, activating your sense of self, your home, your partnerships, and your public standing all at once, with transformative Pluto in your own sign at its heart, in a long chapter of reshaping the sense of who you know yourself to be. As Venus stations retrograde in Scorpio on the 3rd, she begins an intense passage of nearly six weeks through your sector of career, inviting a deep, thoughtful review of your direction, your reputation, and the contribution you wish to make. The New Moon in Libra on the 10th opens a fresh cycle around learning, travel, and the search for meaning, a welcome widening of your horizons. The Sun then moves into Scorpio on the 23rd, joining Venus for her cazimi, a potent day for reflection on relationships, love, and self-worth. When Mercury also stations retrograde in Scorpio on the 24th, it joins Venus in reconsidering your public direction, asking for reflection, adjustment, and a slower pace. The Full Moon in Taurus the following day then illuminates your home and foundations, drawing your gaze back to your roots and reminding you that all your worldly striving rests upon the ground of where and how you feel most at home. What you reconsider now is not resolved in a single month, and these questions accompany you well into November.

Sun Opposite Saturn – October 2nd - 5th
The Sun moving through your ninth sector of travel and broader horizons could draw your attention toward experiences that expand your world, while Saturn in your third sector of conscious thoughts, communications, and curiosity could point to how limiting your current state of mind or environment may be. You might want to pursue something new that feels expansive, only to encounter delays. This opposition may demand patience or dedication from you and sponsor new learning.
Grand Cross: Mars Opposite Pluto Square Mercury Opposite Chiron – October 2nd - 4th
This grand cross lines up with Pluto near your solar chart ascendant at the beginning of your sign, and your other three angles, therefore an indication that further transformational pressures are being brought to bear on your very sense of self. Chiron’s highlighted presence near the beginning of Taurus may also prod old wounds coming up for review, better self-acceptance and the potential for healing. With Chiron’s Aries sign, your ideas, a sibling, or your early education might also be topics that can come up in this way of healing old wounds. Directly opposite, Mercury – at the top of your chart in your tenth or vocational sector – could turn your thinking strategic and energized whether for your career, or in other areas. There is creative energy here for assisting you in calculating your next moves. The other active opposition, between Mars and Pluto, brings strong energy to bear as well, and may result in outbursts of anger unless you can guard against that, or partnership concerns where pride or impulsive clashes could flare. If these impulses can be better channeled, instead of unleashed blindly, all this energy could inspire you to profound action and studied thought that could help you with constructive changes leading toward your next evolutionary stage.
Venus Retrograde – October 3rd - November 13th
Venus turns retrograde in Scorpio, in your tenth sector of career, potentially involving professional strategy or reputation, as well as life direction – and with Venus in detriment in this sign, you may feel less satisfied with your work, or sense it no longer reflects your values. A past role or an old professional connection could also return to haunt you, or a recent bond with a colleague or boss could feel strained or uncertain. You could rethink whether the path you are on is truly worth your energy investment.
Venus Retrograde Square Mars – October 8th - 11th
As you may be reevaluating if your values align with your public role or professional path, or if have the kind of success you desire, a partner or client could become more demanding or defensive, making it harder to pursue your ambitions on your own terms. You might also question your relationship with authority, including who you answer to and how much power you have in your professional life.
New Moon in Libra – October 10th
A new chapter of beliefs, education, or sense of meaning may open as the Libra New Moon arrives in your ninth sector of mental and philosophical expansion. You might feel inspired to broaden your horizons – certainly not in the mood for things to stay the same, and your perspective on life could be shifting. The New Moon’s ruler, Venus, is retrograde in your career sector, so this reset likely ties into your public path; you might reassess what you value professionally or revisit a past goal as you decide what's truly worth pursuing. Your traditional ruler, Saturn, opposes the New Moon from Aries, lending a serious, disciplined weight – asking you to ground grand ideas in patience and consistent effort rather than overreaching. Mars in your partnership sector precisely squares Venus in your career sector, so that there is an energy exchange between key partners in your life, your vocational plans and opportunities, and your changing worldview as you continue to evolve. A relationship’s status or demands could also collide with your ambitions, potentially bringing frustration or conflict. Fortunate Jupiter is also in your relational sector, indicating that a partnership could open doors or give you support as you enter into this new cycle.
Venus Retrograde Square Pluto – October 16th - 21st
You might be questioning what kind of career or recognition actually feels satisfying, and this could expose deeper questions about who you want to be. A professional role may no longer feel like an accurate reflection of your identity – while pressure around your public duties could make you more determined to control how others perceive you.
Sun Enters Scorpio and Venus Cazimi – October 23rd
Your career and public standing may take further center stage this month as the Sun ingresses into your tenth sector of ambition, vocation, and reputation. The Sun’s warmth there could lift your confidence, making you bolder about pursuing your goals, stepping into authority, or being seen for what you do. Scorpio adds weight and depth here, sharpening your drive and perhaps exposing power dynamics with those in charge. This same evening, Venus reaches her Cazimi moment in the heart of the Sun! A clear-eyed epiphany could arrive about what you truly value in your work, maybe recognizing the worth of a role, winning favor with someone influential, or seeing your professional direction with fresh appreciation.
Sun Square Pluto – October 24th - 28th
Your professional ambitions may bring you face-to-face with a stronger need to define yourself on your own terms. Increased visibility could expose a struggle over control, authority, or how much influence you have over your own path. You might feel compelled to change the way you present yourself publicly, while deeper fears around power or vulnerability make that process more complicated. This short period of time could mark a significant shift in how you occupy your role in the world.
Mercury Retrograde – October 24th - November 13th
Mercury retrograde could bring an introspective period of reflection around business goals, thinking about former professional experiences and how they relate to now. You might revisit your ambitions or question whether a particular path still reflects how you want to be seen publicly. You can also get into miscommunications with authorities in your life or suffer contract delays. While Mercury is in retrograde through Scorpio, you could be rethinking any unresolved career strategies and may want to pause before giving more weight to professional decisions. Revisiting long-term plans could help you recognize what needs to change; the suggestion is to research these before moving forward.
Full Moon in Taurus and Venus Enters Libra – October 25th
Emotions could crest in your innermost world as the Full Moon culminates in your fourth sector of family and emotional roots, potentially bringing a private matter to a head. After a stretch centered on your career and public image, your need for security and belonging may suddenly take priority. The Sun and Moon make a very tight T-square to Pluto in your sign and this could bring up heavy, deeply personal feelings like a compulsion, an old wound, or the sense that something in your world is closing while another door opens. With Pluto in your own sign, this could cut especially close to the bone. Transformation might be the difficult answer to an important looming question. Still, the Moon in Taurus, the sign of her exaltation, can offer a deep well of comfort – nurturing your inner foundations, leaning on those who feel like home, or letting yourself be cared for could soothe you to the core. The Moon's ruler, Venus, has also just retrograded into Libra and your sector of beliefs, understanding, and travel, perhaps drawing you back to a philosophy, a place, or a teacher from your past that's worth revisiting with fresh, and perhaps more balanced, eyes.
