This month, in its first two weeks, harkens back to the Taurus New Moon from the middle of the previous month, which kicked off the thirty-day lunation cycle that is still current as the June month gets underway. The Full Moon of May 31st just one day before the month officially begins is also relevant in terms of its configuration affecting the opening half of June, and then subsequently we have the June 14th New Moon at 24° Gemini, which sets the stage for the last half of the month, leading up to the Full Moon of the 29th, in Cancer–Capricorn. Throughout, both Chiron, the Wounded Healer, and Eris, Feminine Warrior in support of soul intention, are featured, and connected to Mercury, making for a very mentally active time, with both rationality and intuitional messages from our own deep psyche bringing us information. This is knowledge that we will want to regard with great discernment, to act on as appropriate, as the essentially revolutionary tenor of these fractious times continues to confound us. As related to the powerful Pluto presence in these recent lunations, plus also the inner meaning of Eris as a planetary archetype, we will want to try our best to explore what our most sincere values and goals are, deep within our psyche, what we cannot not do, and proceed to action based on this standpoint alone.
In discussing major archetypal presences now – not just during June but as a long-term trend for 2025-2026 – we cannot ignore the elephant in the room, which is the trine/sextile arrangement of the significant outer planets, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, highlighted in the recent New Moon configuration for the June month, and even more so for July and August. This features Uranus and Pluto in close trine, with Neptune at the midpoint, sextile to both, and signals personal and societal transformation as being an important theme as this 2026 year continues to unfold. Pluto in Aquarius is greatly aided in doing his work of thorough-going societal change with rebel Uranus in trine, and with the mystical and numinous presence of Neptune.
As far as the lunations of June, the highlighted presence of Mercury, Chiron, and Eris in the Taurus New Moon from May 16th, provides an amazing configuration. Mercury lies in a close three-degree conjunction with Uranus, bringing deep intuition into the picture, while Eris, at 25° of Aries, with the recent New Moon degree in Taurus also 25°, there is that perfect semi-sextile to the Sun and Moon to consider, right off the bat. Additionally, we find Eris in close sextile, within two degrees, with Venus at 27° Gemini. Mars and Chiron, at 28° Aries, in exact conjunction, to the minute of a degree, are partile semi-sextile to Mercury at 28° of Taurus, which is conjunct the New Moon. Neptune and Eris are also closely parallel – to within a mere 2 minutes of a degree, which brings far greater prominence to both. With Mercury bridging Chiron, Mars, and Uranus, this is a very active influence on mental attitudes, including what takes place below the surface layers, referenced as intuition, and for our thought process in general at both individual and collective levels. The effect is to render more conscious our internal intuitional perspective and, as well, our pain.
With Chiron so prominent this month, as described above with the configuration of the recent Taurus New Moon and including Chiron’s tight sextile with Mercury in the even more recent May 31st Full Moon, we can see the theme of greater consciousness coming to our own buried past trauma and to our resulting individual internal complexes that we struggle with. This is what we now have the opportunity to work on, and this can be quite a good thing – in the long run. All this Chiron now reflects the painful situation as well in the global economy when especially US citizens, due to health care cuts, are having a hard time making ends meet – leading to difficult household decisions of what to leave unpaid. The pain of living in our society as it struggles to evolve beyond materialism is one way that Chiron is currently in play within us, in addition to the more personal hidden complexes continuing to bubble up from deep inside.
As the month winds down, Mercury Stations to retrograde motion on the Sunday morning of the 29th, while the Capricorn Full Moon takes place later the same day. This in another significant lunation, when Mercury is dead still in the sky, in retrograde, and additionally square Eris and conjunct Jupiter, while Mars and Uranus in Gemini are closely conjunct, presaging further instances of surprising events, unexpected revelations, and startling conclusions.
Taken altogether, this is a month of difficulty that can border on the extreme, and yet it is one with solid learning experiences also, that might prove quite significant as our ongoing societal transformation continues to unfold. We all have a part to play in that evolutionary process, especially when we can take a stand for our most sincere values; that is, those principles emanating solely from deep within ourselves. And this is the messages of prominent Eris, as we have been describing. Although times are tough, our faith in the universe, as we can come to it, will see us through.
