May shines a spotlight on your relational world and creative expression, Sagittarius, as well as into the depths of your inner world. The month opens in the afterglow of the April 17th Aries New Moon, which contained an incredibly dense stellium igniting new life in your creativity, physicality, and desires. Much of that vitality is still coursing through the month's beginning, though the tone deepens considerably with the Scorpio Full Moon on the 1st, illuminating the hidden waters of your psyche and subconscious dream realms. This transformative churn intensifies as Pluto slows to its retrograde station on the 6th, amplifying the metamorphosis already underway in your communication, cognition, and thought patterns. Your ruling planet Jupiter continues in its exalted placement in Cancer, though tense squares from Mars early in the month bring big inspirations alongside some inner frustration. The Taurus New Moon mid-month initiates a quieter, more grounding cycle, drawing your attention to wellness habits and the quality of your everyday choices. Mid-to-late month, Uranus, who very recently began his long journey through Gemini, is joined by Mercury and the Sun, seeding unexpected epiphanies and surprising developments, particularly in your relationships. The closing days of May carry some potentially sticky power dynamics and a reckoning with your values and sense of duty, much of it hinging on how you choose to channel your considerable creative energy. The month culminates in a Full Moon in your own sign on the 31st, a luminous invitation to come home to yourself and navigate from the joy and truth of who you really are.

Previous New Moon in late Aries – April 17th
Throughout the first half of May, the late Aries New Moon continues to activate your fifth sector of joy, pleasure, sex, and creative expression, influencing as well your sixth sector of health matters, work, plus day-to-day environment and activities. Mars is closely sextile to Pluto in this recent New Moon, so that, since mid-April, your enthusiasm for beginning anew within these areas of your life could be transformative, translating into real action! These first two weeks of May could be a time for new creative projects, romantic endeavors, or perhaps new health routines and workplace adjustments. Chiron, the Wounded Healer, is also featured now, since in this recent lunation, it was closely conjunct Eris, Feminine Warrior for soul intention, and the New Moon degree itself, less than a degree away. You could continue to find echoes of this in your creative self-expression, which could get side-tracked by the vestiges of early-childhood trauma that have remained buried deep within your psyche. If so, this May month could also be an excellent time to explore your inner wounding more thoroughly, leading to eventual healing.
Full Moon in Scorpio – May 1st
This Scorpio Full Moon highlights your twelfth sector of unconscious processes, supported and contrasted by the Taurus Sun in your sixth sector of health and daily routines. This lunation can inspire you to retreat or withdraw your energy, and in this quiet, you may become aware of your subconscious and the Chiron presence from the recent New Moon, so that the recognition of unhelpful automatic mental patterns and inner wounding may spike or otherwise become more obvious. The Aries stellium, minus Sun and Moon, still lingers, providing – again – plenty of energy, and there is also a same-degree conjunction of Mercury to Chiron in this Full Moon therefore providing plenty of analytical thoughtfulness you might be able to apply. Pluto’s square to Sun and Moon indicates that his themes of power struggle and transformation are reinforced and enable evolutionary movement. These can yet cause stress if unaddressed; you need to acknowledge what is calling you from your depths. You can allow this revealing and emotionally impactful Full Moon to assist you in a truly healing rebirth, but you may have to do the inner work related to prior trauma or self-doubt.
Mars Square Jupiter – May 2nd-5th
Mars is powerful in Aries, quickly pushing and cutting through your fifth sector of romance, pleasure, and self-expression. As Mars forms a square to Jupiter (your ruler) in your eighth sector of intimacy, crisis, and rebirth – a necessary pressure is likely to take hold. You may be pushed to or feel compelled to become more intimate with a romantic partner, or even to investigate them! An inner pain could also inspire a creative outburst or moment of grand expression. This tension-filled aspect can support overblown anger, passion, and rushed reactions – leading to burn out and unneeded conflicts. But it can also assist you in being passionately vulnerable and authentic.
Mercury Cazimi – May 14th
Mercury, the planet of thought process and communication, is purified this morning by entering “the heart of the Sun,” forming what’s called a Mercury Cazimi – providing a potent day of mental clarity, pattern recognition, problem solving, and new ideas! Since this cazimi resides in Taurus and your sixth sector of work, regular tasks, and health, you could come up with a brilliant new structure or routine that supports your wellness or a more effective work ethic. Insightful conversations with coworkers can take place and even new ideas around the work or service you’d like to provide could cross your mind.
New Moon in Taurus – May 16th
The potentially grounding Taurus New Moon forms in your sixth sector of service, work, daily routines, and habit patterns – encouraging you to make a fresh start of some kind within this department of life. This might imply dabbling with new ways to enhance your efficiency and improve your health regimens or taking a deeper look at old and outmoded habitual behaviors that you are ready to transcend. New information can also come to light, which can assist you in making new choices. Also, with the Moon in the sign of her exaltation, this New Moon may mark a comforting moment of awareness around your ability to help others or yourself in productive ways! There is also another strong dose of Chiron in this mid-month New Moon configuration with Mars in perfect conjunction, to the minute, with Chiron. The conjunction is sextile with Venus, the ruler of this New Moon, giving you a string drive toward healing. This begins with curiosity and caring, as you attempt to reach down into your deep psyche for what may be isolated and walled away. When you can find it within you to do this work, recognition of what has occurred in the past – together with acceptance and compassion for the hurt places within you – can produce wonders. With Mercury and Venus also in semi-sextile, new inquisitive interest related to partners is also present and could facilitate a drive for real results.
Mercury Enters Gemini and Conjuncts Uranus – May 17th
Mercury enthusiastically enters its domicile sign of Gemini – beginning a three-week long journey through your seventh sector of partnership and others. You may be quite curious about what others have to say, wanting to understand, relate, and mentally connect with them. Your social calendar could be very active! If a relationship has been confusing or suffering from miscommunication recently, this is when you’re apt to figure out how to improve the situation. Plus, for the first few days of this ingress, Mercury conjuncts Uranus! Wild revelations can shift your perspective of a partnership, or a partner could have surprising information for you – which shifts the dynamic. This is also when you can solve an old relationship problem with a new idea!
Mars Enters Taurus and Venus Enters Cancer – May 18th
As Mars enters Taurus and your sixth sector of labor and wellness, Venus also switches signs – into Cancer and your eighth sector of personal evolution, intimacy, and resources from others. You could have a lot of work on your plate at this time, feeling challenged to rush through it – but with patient and thorough work ethic, this could result in receiving money from others. In sextile to each other, Mars and Venus can also assist you in cutting out poor health habits that keep you from addressing your personal shadows or compulsions. Finding ways to integrate more time for intimacy into your day-to-day could also be a manifestation of this transit!
Sun Enters Gemini and Conjuncts Uranus – May 20th
When the Sun enters your opposing sign of Gemini, your important one-on-one relationships and how you relate to others come further into focus. Your partner’s needs or motivations may take precedence now, and so can having to get along with or work with others. New partnerships can also be created as you’re naturally less focused on yourself, and more interested in relationships. Also, the Sun will conjunct Uranus for the first few days of Gemini Season – potentially unlocking a whole new level of excitement around where certain relationships are going, although this electric energy can also destabilize them! This can sometimes be an uncomfortable or disruptive phase, as others can surprise you with their actions and you have to adjust.
Mars Square Pluto + Sun Trine Pluto – May 23rd-26th
Both the Sun and Mars aspect Pluto over these few days. On one level, you could be going through an intensely positive mental transformation which directly affects your partnerships, and even how you interact with your community and local environment. At the same time, these relational and mental shifts can force you to uncomfortably deal with matters of physical health and work life. There is a lesson in authenticity and pushing your personal evolution forward within these aspects.
Venus Square Saturn – May 27th-29th
As Venus squares Saturn, delayed satisfaction can be a theme, as this may be time to face inner shadows and psychological issues, rather than kicking back and relaxing. You could also be captivated by your inner pain and how to transform through it – which may put pressure on romantic partnerships or your relationship with your children. Attempting to be vulnerable and authentic within these relationships could be the key to relieving this pressure. This transit could assist you in devoting more deeply to expressing yourself from a genuine place and figuring out how to be more intimate with your romantic partner, any children you may have, and even your creative self.
Full Moon in Sagittarius – May 31st
The growth-oriented Full Moon in your sign forms in the most sensitive part of your chart – the first sector of identity, personal perspective, and the physical body. The Gemini Sun has been directing your attention toward relationship including your or a potential partner’s motivations and your own internal relationship energy. In addition to having relationships that meet your needs, this lunation highlights seeking a good balance between self and other, plus the importance of being true to yourself and taking independent action. It also could be a good time to assess if your relationships are doing the trick in these regards, and if you are able to be free and authentic within them. Since this Full Moon sextiles Pluto and has a close aspect to Saturn, while forming an opposition to Uranus, there could be surprise changes affecting to a particular relationship dynamic which might result in buried emotions coming to the surface. This may signal a breakthrough that helps you reclaim your independence and leave you feeling more stable and secure.
