This is, Cancer, a vitally important month for you – punctuated by two eclipses – and it has everything to do with your prospective development and where you choose to put your shoulder to the wheel of social progress. The potent New Moon and Solar Eclipse of Saturday, April 30th, presages this, having taken place in your sector of societal involvement, to include friendships and group activities in your life as well as the way you see your future unfolding. This focus becomes integrated with a general emphasis on career and profession, modified by your evolving worldview. You are understanding more and more that what you do in the world must reflect your deepest values just as though you were the one in total control; and in a way, you are. Mercury retrograding for much of this month and the next lends an introspective air to the proceedings. With the mid-month Lunar Eclipse of Sunday, May 15th, relationships become more central. Your ongoing transformation of this significant area of your life is still an enormous factor now and for the remainder of the year.

Taurus season highlights your support group and the community of people who make you feel connected. They say that home is where the heart is but this could be a complicated equation these days with so many people you love living in different places. A Solar Eclipse in Taurus occurred at the end of April, corresponding to your sector of friendship, goals, and societal impact, which may bring an essential stimulus regarding your dreams and how they relate to the world you want to live in. You could set your vision on ambitious goals, and you could be craving learning experiences and encounters that serve as an initiation into different ways of living. This entire month of May, social consciousness might be the right term for you, especially after two years of pandemic-limited experience with that.
Venus enters Aries, gracing the career and vocational part of your chart until the end of the month. Your home life could also be indirectly connected, primarily if a career opportunity depends on your living arrangement. There could be many different possibilities of knocking at your door, and knowing what you want could be half the battle. Thanks to the Sun conjoined with the rebellious planet Uranus in Taurus, a certain amount of restlessness and unpredictability colors the first week of May. If you find yourself having a hard time making a choice, it might be best to wait until you feel certain about it. Things are in a state of flux this month, and there may be other opportunities you are not seeing right now.
Mercury stations retrograde in Gemini on the 10th, calling for a pause and a re-assessment in the following weeks. Jupiter enters Aries on the same day, where it will be transiting until late October and will most likely be fanning the flames of your ambitions. Taking your time with important decisions at this time could ensure that you can adequately channel the positive influences that Jupiter in Aries may bring to your vocational goals in the following months.
On the 15th, a Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio takes place, which may bring attention to the sacrifice needed to follow a dream. You may realize that you may have to forgo something else to get what you want. This could be an important marker so pay attention to what comes mid-month, especially when it comes to your collaborations with others and your creative output in the world. A natural process of evolution may be taking place that relates to how you use your knowledge for the greater good. It may be time to put yourself out there in new ways, but you may first have to let go of attachments or projects that could be taking a lot of your energy with very little return.
On May 20th, the Sun enters Gemini which signals the beginning of a more introspective period. It could be beneficial to take a step back and take stock of where you are before Cancer season begins in one month. However, you may not be able to put everything on hold as your social life, goals, and long-term projects call for attention. Mercury Retrograde conjunct the Sun in Gemini on the 21st, which is considered an essential part of Mercury's retrograde cycle. You may get some meaningful answers, especially regarding how you feel about the current changes occurring in your life. You may have the ability to understand parts of yourself that operate on a more unconscious level, and this may allow you to choose what needs to happen next.
The last week of May could bring illuminations related to your aspirations and the learning experiences that you crave. However, if a difficult choice needs to happen between following your goals or keeping the status quo in a relationship, then tension could come up.
Venus in Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn on the 27th and this may highlight pre-existing conflicts. Venus entering Taurus the following day should help smooth things over, but you may still have to do more soul-searching before you are at peace with what you want.
A New Moon in Gemini takes place on the 30th, closing the month of May, corresponding to the part of your chart that relates to your unconscious process. With Mercury still retrograde you might find yourself being pulled even more to the inside. There is a new cycle beginning relating to that, and potentially to a new take as well on your dreams and aspirations. You will have to get to the heart of your motivations and make space for your curiosity, and hopes for the future over the following weeks.
