This is a rather amazing month for you, Taurus, with the New Moon eclipse that begins it right in your sign. This actually takes place on April 30th , and represents issues of identity and idealized future progress along with an emphasis on your public statement and your societal contribution. You may be seeing these important areas of your life in a new way. Recent changes in worldview have given you a new basis for taking deliberate and conscious action where you might have been operating subliminally, including partnerships and embodying your most sincere principles in all that you accomplish. From May 10th on, Mercury retrograding through first your sector of finances, resources, and values, and then subsequently through your identity sector, represented by the signs of Gemini and Taurus, signals a time of great introspection that lasts through to mid-June, when you will question many tendencies and patterns. With the Full Moon eclipse of May 15th you seek a degree of resolution regarding all of the above. Your relationships in particular come up for renewal, review, and revision, along with career commitment and greater reliance on what is fundamental and real for you as you evolve.
The following was written by our resident monthly columnist Elodie St-Onge Aubut of Ninth House Astrology
A Solar Eclipse took place in your sign at the very end of April, governing the current month, and this could bring a significant results for you during May in terms of issues of self-concept and putting your best foot forward. Since an eclipse, the effects of this lunation could last over the following months, including for things related to your needs and your overall mode of operation. Eclipses usually portend changes, and new storylines will tend to emerge over the next several months following an eclipse. You may be experiencing events or situations that push you back to yourself and what you truly want out of life. You might also be forced to acknowledge any compromises you have been making, which are perhaps not sustainable for your long-term happiness. This eclipse could thus be potentially pushing you towards greater autonomy.
Venus enters Aries on the 2nd and will be there for most of the month, illuminating desires and frustrations that could be hiding in the more unconscious parts of your psyche. Even though you might usually be known for your patience, you could feel a specific rebellious energy building up. The Sun is conjunct Uranus in Taurus for the first week of the month, which could bring some restlessness and a desire to break free from stifling influences in your life. Again, if you've been compromising too much, the energy calls for a recalibration at the beginning of May. It may be your opportunity to acknowledge some frustrated parts of you who are begging for more breathing room to explore and do as they please.
The First Quarter Moon in Leo late afternoon or evening on the 8th may highlight a situation where the tension could be channeled productively. This could relate to your home, family, or a domestic scenario that calls for your attention. A few days later, on the 10th, Mercury stations retrograde in Gemini, where it will be moving backward until the beginning of June. You may have to rethink your mode of operation and how you utilize the resources available to you at this time. More extensively, your sense of self-worth and the values you put on yourself may be highlighted, and it could be an excellent period to assess if you are being reimbursed fairly for your skills. Jupiter enters Aries late on the 10th, where it will be transiting until late October and illuminating your chart's soul sector. Your sense of faith and connection to the mystical aspects of existence could receive a boost. However, you may also have to wrestle between your material ambitions and your desire to surrender to more spiritual realms.
A second eclipse and Full Moon takes place on May 15th, in the sign of Scorpio, a Lunar Eclipse which might well bring up important relational dynamics. There may be a link between your dreams for the future and a meaningful partnership. Mars in Pisces rules over the sign of Scorpio and therefore rules over this Lunar Eclipse. Mars closely conjoins with Neptune mid-month, potentially creating some wishful thinking or deception. Be mindful of where you invest your energy and deliberate with your actions. Don't waste your time on something that is of no benefit to you or feels depleting. It may be wise to conserve your energy for what is essential at this time. There is a lot of momentum available for letting go of things that are stagnating or feel frustrating.
On May 20th, the Sun enters Gemini which helps ease the intensity that came with the eclipses since the beginning of May. Things will start to make sense as the Sun in Gemini illuminates your resources and values in the coming weeks. Mercury Retrograde in Gemini meets the Sun upon its entry into the sign of the Twins, which could bring essential answers related to your finances or what you have to work with. You may have a lot more power to make a dream come true than you realize, but you may have to deal with things threatening to stall your progress before you can experience the good things that are knocking at your door.
Mars enters Aries on the 24th, which is a significant ingress for you as it joins Jupiter and Venus there, and brings an emphasis on your previous sign of Aries. Your inner world might be calling out to you more forcibly and you could feel this impact quite strongly.
You could channel a lot of your frustrations or impatience into gaining more autonomy at this time, thanks to a beautiful New Moon in Gemini that occurs on the 30th. This could imply an increased desire for independence in the following weeks and less patience available for compromises. Festering anger is more likely if you try to keep the peace in a scenario. Set your intentions on your personal goals and your ambitions.
