This is another summer month of transformation for you, Aries. You have long been wrestling with how best to actualize your potential in the world of career and professional life, and the beginning of August puts your creativity on the line along with your larger ideals and most cherished principles. You could find that things might not always be what they seem, or that simple logic could fail you. Your intuition and your angel guidance will be of great help. Meditation and inner awareness are your stabilizers during these dicey times, as are important partners. What is most important of all perhaps is cultivating an awareness that the universe is on your side, and that all of what you are going through in some way serves to further. It is your own evolutionary development that is the point of the exercise. The new planet, Eris, is extremely active now as well, hinting that it is high time to inhabit a warrior stance. In all this, with the help of fellow travelers in your life, you are seeking to become your most authentic self and what is more, succeeding.
The following was written by our resident monthly columnist Elodie St-Onge-Aubut of Ninth House Astrology
The New Moon in Cancer from July 9th brought a fresh cycle to your home and family sector signaling the beginning of a period when it might be easier and even vital for you to root down and feel at home, and lasting into the first week of the present month of August. July also saw Jupiter moving backward through the early degrees of Pisces before exiting the sign on the 28th to re-enter Aquarius, corresponding to your sector of societal connection and future plans. This motion of Jupiter back into Aquarius could represent a time of greater integration, related to your dreams and aspirations, and could include what transpired in that regard during the first half of 2021. You may feel stronger and more self-directed now that the challenges of the beginning of the year are more under control.
The month of August also begins with a Mercury Cazimi in the sign of Leo which may clarify a scenario connected to your creative or romantic life. A Mercury Cazimi is when the planet Mercury passes to conjunct the Sun very closely and is said to be ‘’sitting on the royal throne.’’ This aspect is thought to be a moment of purification for topics of the sign and houses where the Cazimi takes place which in your case falls in the part of your chart relating to what you love to do for fun and what lights up your creative fires. This may signal a time of integration related to your dreams and your connection to pleasure. Along with the Cazimi, Saturn in Aquarius opposes both Mercury and the Sun on August 1st as well, forecasting that discipline is needed if you are to follow your heart and live creatively. This adds a certain level of pressure to get your ducks in a row and spend the extra hours that are needed to see a personal project come into form.
The Leo New Moon arrives on Sunday, August 8th, and continues to bring momentum for self-expression and anything related to pleasure, romance, and creativity. There may be hidden costs involved in the pursuit of happiness however, which is indicated by the New Moon also squaring Uranus in Taurus. Surprises abound. You may have to take a risk on a project you are engaged in, or it could be that an investment is required to pursue something that you are passionate about and you may feel a certain difficulty reconciling pleasure with obligations.
Venus in Virgo opposes Neptune in Pisces from August 8th to the 9th, making things especially spacey and confusing, including, perhaps, your key relationships. This also may be a good opportunity to assess your mind and your body and how they affect each other, dreaming big. You may be more concerned with what you eat and your general health at this time and become aware of the many different influences of various thoughts on your overall well-being. Mercury enters stern Virgo on the 11th which may support the implementation of better habits. The following weeks could be a good time to assess underlying anxiety and to take on a small meditation or mindfulness practice to reduce your stress.
On August 15th, Venus enters Libra where she will grace your relationship sector until September 10th. This may indicate a period when your desire to relate and connect with others is increased which could also call for greater compromises.
The third week of August brings a host of supportive aspects that can help you with logistical and organizational matters especially when it comes to your schedule and your budget. Thinking outside of the box for recurring problems could help you find innovative solutions and confidence in using technologies that can help you become more efficient with your time.
On the 22nd, a second Full Moon in Aquarius takes place, the first one having occurred last month on the same date, 30 days ago. As the Sun prepares to leave Leo for Virgo, this Full Moon is conjunct Jupiter in Aquarius which may bring a considerable shift of perspective or progress in connection with the Sun winding up its course through the sector of your aspirations. With this Jupiter ingress into Aquarius involved, you may finally be able to take a step back from the events and emotions of the last six months and gain clarity about your current situation. The Sun enters Virgo a few hours later joining Mercury and Mars already transiting there which brings even greater emphasis on your daily life, your health, and logistical matters.
Venus in Libra trine Saturn in Aquarius on the 22nd and the 23rd could find you discussing your long-term vision with someone but Mercury in Virgo opposing Neptune in Pisces on the 24th could somewhat confuse your aim. You may need to do a little bit more soul searching after talking things through with someone and assessing the needs of a partnership especially after the 26th when Venus in Libra opposes Chiron in Aries opening up a sensitive issue.
Mercury enters Libra at the end of August. Since Mercury retrogrades there in late September, the dialogues and negotiations that may be taking place at this time could very well continue into late Fall. Sorting out the needs of personal or professional partnerships could be highlighted but this does not need to be a difficult process. Opening up about your needs and your dreams could also help you progress towards them.
