This is a paradoxically active month for you, Aquarius, when your outer accomplishments take place largely on the inside, and when you are making progressive advancements and yet simultaneous holding back from moving too far, too fast. Your traditional ruler, Saturn, dominates the astrological landscape right now, and is located in your sector of unconscious process and inner work. This implies that you can trust some form of inner knowing, including your dreams, to take you where you need to go, which is nothing less than a more complete integration of your entire psyche. With the placement of Uranus, and of retrograde Mars, you are indeed plunging forward in a way that is distinctly introspective. You are engaged in deep learning as you move through your evolutionary spiral, and are wise to accept intuitional information as primary. As you continue to look within, the answers you seek seem to arise as if out of the mist, as though you must half-close your physical eyes in order to more clearly see.
The following was written by our resident monthly columnist Elodie St-Onge-Aubut of Ninth House Astrology
The month begins with you riding the wave of the recent New Moon in your opposite sign. This has brought issues of relationship firmly into the equation of your own self-development, and also indicated that unconscious process plays a large role in what you are all about right now. The Full Moon in Pisces taking place at the very beginning of the month, late evening of September 1st, also brings focus to sharing with partners, and– in general – to the material side of your existence. Pisces corresponds to the money sector of your chart, bringing good news there. Things could also change in this area rather suddenly. You should know by now if a financial situation is worth it, and gained clarity on where you may need to cut your losses. Uranus in Taurus sextile the Full Moon can bring up original ideas that link your work to your home life or your family. Thinking outside of the box for innovative solutions can help you see your options, especially if you are worried about relying too much on someone else.
The Moon joins Chiron in Aries on the 4th, and then a slowing Mars in Aries on the 5th hinting at some themes that may come up in the next few months, with Mars soon turning retrograde. Mars retrograde in Aries could stimulate heated discussions or debates that are difficult to avoid, and that might involve inner wounding coming to the surface, for the potential of healing these issues. Mercury changing signs also could provoke discussions. Even if you avoid current polemics, you could be inclined to think about your overall philosophical outlook on world events.
Venus entering Leo on the 6th likely brings a dose of pleasure and ease to your partnerships for the rest of the month. Your relationships will be supported by Venus’s transit there, and could rouse your more passionate side to come out and play.
On September 9th, Mars stations retrograde in Aries. Mars moves retrograde in your communication sector until November 13th. This is not a great time to send ultimatums, but the next two months are an opportunity to reflect on the ways you communicate, and how you assert yourself, or express your anger. Saying what you think – and meaning what you say – could be under close examination.
The Sun in Virgo opposite Neptune in Pisces, from the 10th to the 12th, could feel confusing. There may be elements missing or you could have a hard time seeing a situation clearly. Jupiter stationing direct in Capricorn on the 12th can help you gain perspective especially concerning a financial scenario.
Romance is in the air on the 13th to the 15th, when the Moon joins Venus in Leo. Venus simultaneously squares Uranus in Taurus bringing unpredictable or exciting elements to your partnerships.
The Virgo New Moon taking place on September 17th represents another powerful juncture. while Mercury squares Jupiter. Relationships are highlighted but there is also a reset present at this time in connection with intimacy. You may be willing to go the extra mile for someone special. You may be willing to show up, and do the work necessary for something to work. It can feel both vulnerable and invigorating to commit to a more profound bond. You’ve gotten over some fears that kept you from moving deeper, and what was once daunting now seems completely natural.
The Sun enters Libra on September 22nd signalling the first day of fall in the Northern Hemisphere and spring in the Southern Hemisphere. You may be fantasizing about bigger projects for yourself but also having a hard time seeing how it’s possible. Mercury in Libra squaring Saturn in Capricorn on the 22nd to the 24th calls for an introspective moment to get a good read on your internal compass but with Mercury also opposing Mars retrograde in Aries you could feel agitated by the current restrictions. There are some uncertain factors at this time that you have to contend with regardless of how hard you want to push. Where you want to be in the world or where you call home may be in a state of flux. However, the current tension you are experiencing is also an opportunity to get creative. Complicated scenarios can also bring amazing new ways of doing things. You just have to play around with the pieces of the puzzle until an image starts emerging.
Mercury enters Scorpio on the 27th carrying the focus over to your career and profession. Mercury will turn retrograde here in a few weeks, signalling a period of review and questioning of your career direction, and you may already be sensing the adjustments you might need to make at your job site for things to work out more smoothly.
The late evening of the 28th, Saturn stations direct in Capricorn while in a square with Mars in Aries. It’s an opportunity to get to the roots of your motivations. The aspect between Mars and Saturn already occurred once at the end of August so that you may be familiar with these themes from this earlier timing. Your personal authority and ability to assert yourself could come up again at the end of the month, or you may feel torn between autonomy and commitment. Assess what you are willing to do, and where you may be over extending yourself. Reflect on your limitations and what boundaries mean to you in order to gain clarity.
