This is a month of highs and lows, Sagittarius. Beginning as it does with a New Moon in your sign, you are likely to feel tons of energy for individual exploration, and for social connection. The distinct downside is the retrograde of Mercury through your sign, which is terrific for introspection and actually not so great for getting things done as you expect. You will do all right if you can get with the program and take it slow, recognizing that meditative introspection will be an important part of your month. The retrograde plot thickens on the 6th, when Mars also retrogrades in a key sector of your chart, your sector of higher mind, related to identity and self-discovery. On the 8th, relationships are up for you, and even more so in the timing of the Gemini Full Moon of December 15th, when, although the vibes are inner-oriented, existing partnerships are brought even more directly into the picture, along with reviewing your entire relationship dynamic. The Capricorn Solstice of the 21st represents another powerful juncture, signaling an emphasis on values and resources for the year ahead, while the Last Quarter Moon the next day, on the 22nd, brings you to something of a crisis in consciousness, as you attempt to integrate social and goal-directed behavior with your own individual take on things including your psychological depths.

December is a monumental month for you, Sagittarius, with so much energy concentrated in your own sign and in the angular sectors of your chart. This is your time to shine, realign, and explore your inner world!
The month begins with the New Moon in your sign late evening of November 30th, so just in time for the early morning of December 1st, and thus activating your first sector of self, and identity. This powerful lunation offers a fresh start, encouraging you to step into your most authentic self and bring a dose of self-love and warm embrace to the wonder that is you! With Mercury also in retrograde in your sign, you may also stumble into the areas where you feel doubtful, or like it’s challenging to communicate your full expression. This is an excellent opportunity to reflect on who have been, and who you feel yourself becoming. The New Moon’s square to Saturn in Pisces may bring some responsibilities or reflections around home and family, while its trine to stationing Mars in Leo invokes boldness and perhaps some restlessness to seek novelty that fuels your evolving sense of self.
On December 3rd and 4th, retrograde Mercury in your sign opposes Jupiter in your partnership sector, and you may well feel an new energy taking hold, reinforcing your huge focus this month on key relationships in your life.
Beginning on December 6th, Mars is retrograde in Leo, your ninth sector of beliefs, higher learning, and distant travel. This transit slows the pace of expansion and exploration, urging you to reassess your goals and the philosophies that guide you, and dig into your inner fire and sense of agency. Mars’s opposition to Pluto in Aquarius throughout the month intensifies this introspection, creating tension between your desire for intellectual freedom and the need to refine how you share your ideas and communicate. Pluto has recently entered Aquarius, marking the beginning of a transformative 20-year journey through your third sector of communication, local environment, and mental processes. This opposition invites you to embrace profound shifts in how you think, speak, and connect. As Mars moves back into your eighth sector of transformation on January 6th, expect a deeper focus on shared resources, intimacy, and delving into your own emotional depths.
Venus joins Pluto in Aquarius and your third sector on December 6th as well, coming into exact conjunction with Pluto through the 8th. This configuration bends Venus’s influence into a caricature of magnetic attraction, yearning for life’s beauty, and innovative ways of learning and expressing in relationship. With Venus opposing Mars in, you may feel tension between melting into relationship and standing tall in your autonomy; the invitation is to find more flow between togetherness and independence. This time may feel intense and tenuous, so it may be wise to utilize practices that ground and center you, as the strong currents pull you in this way and that.
On December 15th, the Full Moon in Gemini illuminates your seventh-first sector axis, placing relationships fully in the spotlight. This brings pivotal realizations, as your closest people provide reflection and amplification of your inner world. Neptune, whose recent station amplifies its presence, lies, in this Full Moon, in a T-square with the Sun and Moon adding a layer of fogginess or confusion so that it may be hard to bring the true matter at hand into focus. The invitation is to invoke your own and others’ sense of compassion and imaginative solutions, for the pathways of logic and rationality may be rather elusive at this time.
On the same day as the Full Moon, Mercury stations direct in your sign, signaling a shift toward clarity in your personal expression and communication. While the post-shadow period means integration will take time, as the days march on your thoughts and ideas may tend to flowing more freely outward. Mercury rules your opposite sign of Gemini, and with Mercury standing dead-still in the sky, and located in your sign, there could be some unexpected things to navigate on the relationship front or perhaps referencing business partnerships.
The Solstice on December 21st brings the Sun into Capricorn and your second sector of personal finances and values, inviting you to focus on grounding and building security as you approach the New Year.
One of the month’s most significant transits takes place from December 20th to the 28th, exact on the 24th, as your ruling planet, Jupiter, in Gemini, forms a square to Saturn in Pisces. This aspect activates your angular sectors — your seventh house of relationships and fourth house of home and emotional foundations. It may bring new awareness of how emotional patterns from childhood influence your current dynamics, particularly as events in close partnerships or relationships trigger those old wounds. While this energy can feel heavy, it offers a profound opportunity to re-parent your inner child, establish healthy boundaries, and expand your vision of what relationships can truly look and feel like. The growth gained during this time will be deeply rooted and have a lasting impact on your life.
As the month concludes, Chiron stations direct in your fifth sector of creativity and self-expression on December 29th, offering healing insights that allow you to reconnect with your passions and find renewed confidence in sharing your light.
The New Moon in Capricorn on December 30th activates your second sector, initiating a fresh cycle of financial planning and value alignment. Use this time to set practical intentions that support your personal growth and prosperity as you step into the New Year with purpose and empowerment.
