This is another amazing and reflective month for you, Scorpio! This is due in part to Mars, your ruler, still in retrograde motion or else moving slowly for the entire month, and Mercury too, when you take its retrograde shadow into account, that follows Mercury's actual station to direct motion. Mars stations on January 12th, at 8 degrees of the sign of Gemini, trine Venus and also the new planet, Makemake, indicating that this is a good timing to think about your relationships, inner work in support of your deepest values, and your own personal evolution in response to the surface details and circumstances of your life here on planet Earth. The recent holiday season has been a thoughtful time of reexamining your priorities, continuing throughout the present month. Next month will be the most likely timing for you to forge ahead with new priorities that have been slowly engendered during the introspective timing of this one. The Aquarius New Moon of January 21st brings partnership commitment more clearly into the picture of your own quite serious forward motion, as you contemplate action that is more closely aligned with your heart center.

Last month’s Capricorn Solstice and Christmastime New Moon put a Capricorn focus to the beginning of your January month, lighting up your sector of curiosity and communication, leading you to intellectually explore new dimensions of your beliefs and worldview. Expansive and optimistic Jupiter was also featured in your sector of day-to-day routines and health regimens. Much of the focus at the beginning of the year could be on your private and domestic life and everything that needs to be done for things to run smoothly. You may be in the process of reorganizing your space and finding better and more efficient ways of doing things.
With Mercury also retrograde in Capricorn right from the very beginning of January, you could be rethinking much of what makes sense to you for you in terms of spoken and written communications and in in your everyday existence. You could become more aware of time-wasting habits that slow down your progress so that the beginning of 2023 could be an excellent time to look more closely into your patterns, especially concerning your health and how to better manage your time.
Venus enters Aquarius on the evening of the 2nd which may bring life partners more fully into the picture of your meditations or lead you to beautify your personal space in the coming weeks. From the 3rd through the 5th, a sextile from Venus to Jupiter in Aries could lighten the mood and bring support, especially for things that require physical strength and movement. There is a way that partners may help you to shape your inner values at this time.
The Cancer Full Moon arrives on the 6th and illuminates themes related to wider philosophical frameworks, travel, and learning. Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn is conjoined with the Sun and opposing the Full Moon in Cancer which might highlight a tension between what you know versus how your knowledge actually manifests in real life. You may also feel tension between the logistical aspects of your daily life and the need to be nourished by more profound experiences. The Full Moon squares Chiron in Aries and the Sun trines Uranus in your opposite sign of Taurus which could emphasize your partnerships and force you out of your comfort zone in surprising ways that might ultimately bring growth to your relationship dynamic.
On the 9th and 10th, Venus in Aquarius comes into a supportive trine with Mars in Gemini just as Mars is slowing down and stationing to direct motion on the 12th. Progress or at least some perspective on your partnership situation could be possible. However, with Mercury still moving retrograde in Capricorn, you could also feel like some things are in the air or unsure of where to focus your attention. Mercury turns direct on the 18th, and then begins to recover its lost zodiacal ground by the end of the month, so that if you can hold on until then, there might begin to be clarifications for things that are not sustainable or not working anymore.
The Sun conjoining Pluto on the 18th might also bring some intensity to your exchanges with others. You could feel compelled to make more powerful statements of your inner truth at this time, although it is helpful to recognize that not everyone may be ready to hear what you have to say. If in doubt, refine your message as much as possible before sending out any ultimatums.
The Aquarius New Moon arrives on January 21st lighting up the sector of your chart that relates to your home, your family, and your psychological roots. The New Moon is again supported by Jupiter in Aries making for an optimistic and generally positive time for themes related to your home. Venus is applying to conjoined Saturn in Aquarius which is exact a day later and may highlight ongoing efforts to root down or make your space more comfortable. Uranus also turns direct in Taurus on the 22nd and you should be able to get a hint of what is to come in the near future at this time.
Venus enters Pisces on the evening of the 26th highlighting the part of your chart that relates to your creativity, your children, and more extensively, romance. The transit of Venus in Pisces in the coming weeks could make it easier for self-expression while bringing out the dreamier aspects of your nature.
From January 28th to the 30th you encounter some supportive influences thanks to the Sun in Aquarius forming a grand trine with Mars in Gemini and Makemake in Libra. This is a mystical event space for these few days, when your sense of yourself at deeper layers of your psyche are involved in an action orientation that could bring a new level of consciousness about what you are up to. Mercury in Capricorn simultaneously trines Uranus in Taurus, so that surprising partnership events could also be in the offing, as you head into a consequential February month.
