This month is one to test your commitment to outer world presence, as exemplified in career and profession, Virgo. You are likely to go through several changes of position regarding this important area of life as May continues to unwind. The New Moon from the last ten days of April brought new energy and awareness to issues of education, travel, and worldview, so that the beginning of the month has you shooting off in many different directions in this regard. You might also find this month that the understanding that you have toward the significant partnerships in your life has a strong idealism involved, and takes on a renewed importance. The mid-month timing, from the 12th to the 14th, is an intense time period full of powerful energies that at times chime and at other times seem to conflict and confuse. Through it all, your evolving self-expression remains a key factor in the way that you respond to the ups and downs of this strange period in our cultural history.

Your ruler Mercury is conjoined with trickster Uranus, in Taurus along with the Sun, at the beginning of the month. In any case, Taurus season, following the recent New Moon from the previous month, finds you with an exhilarating mental outlook. It’s an ideal time to break through some of the limitations you impose on yourself. If you have felt blocked by current circumstances, you can expect the beginning of the month to bring progressive ideas and visions. An exciting current initiates the month that should help you gain perspective. It’s been a difficult few months for everyone due to the lockdown. However, unexpected insights are starting to arise for you, especially in connection with your long-term plans.

Venus in Gemini squares Neptune in Pisces from the beginning of May onwards. This will be an aspect that permeates the month bringing creative ideas in connection with your career; however, this aspect must be used wisely. You might be idealizing a certain work scenario or have an inability to see a situation for what it is. With Neptune highlighted in Pisces in your house of partnership, idealizations and misconceptions abound. It could be, for example, that a relationship feels draining, confusing and monopolizing all of your energy. You also might be prompted to sort out your priorities in order to get a clearer picture of where you are heading career-wise. There could be many opportunities and options presenting themselves and your attention and focus could feel diffused or overly invested with others.

The Full Moon in Scorpio on May 7th is an illuminating one for you Virgos. The Moon shines her light brightly on your immediate environment, which in the recent month could have become a lot more ‘’virtual’’. You might come to grasp the reality of the internet and how it serves as a connecting medium between you and your loved ones. This is a facet of the lockdown that carries new implications for better or for worse. Communicating with family members and the people we love also means spending more time on our phones. Mars, being the traditional ruler of Scorpio, rules over this Full Moon and is currently in Aquarius — the part of your chart that speaks of how you manage your days and your habit patterns. Your routines and how you spend your time are thus highlighted with this Full Moon. This is a particularly favorable time for Virgos to organize your schedule in a more efficient way; it is the perfect occasion to assess things and get rid of time-wasting habits.

Creative ideas, romantic situations, relocation, and travel plans are all highlighted well into the second week of May. Mercury in Taurus trines Pluto and then Jupiter in Capricorn, which could make you feel tremendously aware of your current limitations while fuelling your desire to break free of them. Your ruler Mercury enters Gemini on May 11th just as Saturn stations retrograde. Mercury’s ingress into Gemini will bring a refreshing influence in your career sector. If you are already feeling inundated by the multiplicity of tasks you want to get done, Mercury’s transit in Gemini could help you handle more. Saturn moving retrograde for the next several months on the other hand could find you revisiting or restructuring a recent project. There is also quite a bit of movement mid-month with Venus in Gemini stationing retrograde, while Mars enters Pisces on May 13th. Jupiter in Capricorn stations retrograde on May 14th just in time for the Last Quarter Moon in Aquarius. Situations will be shifting but it could be about retracing your step or looking back to gain perspective on how to proceed.

The Sun enters Gemini on May 20th and helps you gain traction especially in connection with your career. The Sun traveling through the sign of Gemini for the next thirty days will support the clarification of your goals even if they seem quite inaccessible at the present moment. Venus, now retrograde in Gemini squares Neptune in Pisces a second time finding you wrestling with a recurring issue that was present at the beginning of the month. The Sun, Mercury and Venus transiting in Gemini, highlights career aspiration while also squaring the sign of Virgo which creates a certain level of tension that can feel hard to reconcile. You might be faced with the difficulty of having to compromise one thing to get another. This tension could be linked to your personal needs and desires, the needs of partnerships, and some of your more ambitious career goals. There are no easy solutions — and this will be a period of brainstorming.

The New Moon in Gemini on May 22nd will be a powerful time of inception. Ideas emerging now will take time and efforts to be concretized. This lunation introducing your birthday time of the year will be both enjoyable and productive, but you will likely be required to reassess an existing situation, perhaps one that is blocking your advancements. You will feel a strong pull towards setting ambitious goals for yourself, and it’s an excellent time to do so.
