This is an interesting month for you, Virgo, when you find yourself mulling over your possibilities, including relationship issues. You are coming down from the transformational intensity that peaked in last month’s Full Moon eclipse, when you were perhaps discovering new fields to conquer in terms of your artistic creativity, and now are beginning to explore greater commitment of service to others around you. Your intuition is especially strong, along with a sense of your evolving worldview. As you more fully explore these areas of life, there is a kind of fuzzy logic that you might find yourself applying, and that will somehow take you farther than mere rationality, although idealization or even self-deception is quite possible where partners are concerned. Inner wounding could also come up, interfering with your most authentic relationship expression until you accept your dark places and move past them. The second half of the month, after Mercury turns to retrograde motion in your opposite sign, will be an introspective time of rethinking your partnership dynamic.
The following was written by our resident monthly columnist Elodie St-Onge-Aubut of Ninth House Astrology
Relationships are on your mind as February begins. On February 2nd, Venus in Pisces sextiles Pluto in Capricorn. Venus is currently transiting in your house of partnerships, and Pluto in your house of creativity and romance. This aspect could therefore indicate that you are currently undergoing a transformative period regarding key relationships. On February 3rd, Venus in Pisces sextiles Saturn in Capricorn. This could indicate a need to have a conversation about boundaries or a desire for serious commitments. On the same day of the 16th, your ruler Mercury enters Pisces where it will station retrograde later this month; much of the month will gravitate around your needs and the needs of people close to you.
On February 4th and 5th, Mercury in Pisces sextiles Uranus in Taurus. For this aspect it is important to note that it will take place again on March 21st around the Equinox. Progressive insights arising at this time could be quite significant this year. There could be opportunities for a learning journey, long-distance travel, academia or a mind-expanding experience on the horizon. If you are itching to get out of any kind of stifling circumstances, solutions may now start to surface.
Venus enters Aries on February 7th (until March 4th) emphasizing intimacy issues, assets you share, and agreements or contracts that bind you to others. There could be some anxiety or fears surfacing around the second week of February that seem to be about relating to things you have little control over. You could feel the urge to have more independence in your life while simultaneously having to contend with agreements that tie you down.
The Full Moon in Leo in the late evening of February 8th/9th, will bring much needed light to the soul-sector of your chart. Revelations are taking place regarding things that were long buried and unconscious patterns are coming to the surface. You are currently being drawn toward a particular path of personal growth and healing. This Full Moon could bring omens or insights that support this work.
Your ruler Mercury stations retrograde in Pisces on February 16th (until March 9th). This retrograde will bring up contracts and partnerships and a desire to create more space in your life for your own personal projects. With many planets still transiting in Capricorn this month, there is a need to find practical solutions. The emphasis will be on organizing your affairs so that you have more creative time. With Mercury moving retrograde in Pisces there could be an initial period of confusion especially in your relationships. There could also be a back-and-forth dialogue as you revise the terms of some agreement. This dialogue could have to do with the material side of life and how to organize your everyday affairs so that both parties get what they need. Mars enters Capricorn on the same day, staying until March 30th. Mars will support you in finding strategies and structures within your creative work.
The Sun enters the Mutable Water sign of Pisces on February 18th signaling the last thirty days of winter in the Northern Hemisphere. The Sun in Pisces illuminates your partnerships and all the work that is currently taking place in that area of your life. Creativity, relationships, romance, love, pleasure and also shared assets are on the agenda. Collaborations could be in the works and you should start to see the shapes of things to come.
February 20th to February 22nd could bring surprising solutions connected to a current conundrum. Synchronicities will be high for those few days; stay open to opportunities around travel and academia coming out of left field. This could be exactly the solution you have been waiting for.
The New Moon in Pisces on February 23rd offers fresh soil for planting new seeds of growth in the realm of your relationships. The night is always the darkest around the New Moon. However it represents a powerful time of inception, when a new cycle is about to begin. What has transpired recently within your collaborations has created fresh fields to work with. You should have a pretty good idea of what you want to plant in your partnership garden at this time. On February 25th, Mercury will meet the Sun in Pisces in an inferior conjunction as an important part of its retrograde cycle. This is a crucial time during Mercury Retrograde that could deliver some solutions on how to proceed next. Mercury will still be moving retrograde in Pisces for another few weeks but this is more or less the halfway point of its retrograde cycle. Mars in Capricorn, and conjoining the South Node on the same day, offering many insights into the past, will augment the opportunity for resolution. The month of February ends with Venus in conjunction with Eris in the sign of Aries squaring Pluto in Capricorn, bringing aesthetics and relating to the fore. The end of the month therefore carries a powerful catalyst for change that should be handled consciously.
