This is a key month for you, Leo, in this your birthday time of the year. The New Moon in your sign of the first full day of August is quite significant. This month speaks to evolving identity, accelerated by the deep-seated changes of this dynamic year, and also signals fresh winds blowing through your career and professional life. What you do out in the world must partake more than ever of what you hold inside, a mantra than becomes more evident as the month continues to unfold. The Aquarius Full Moon of August 15th brings up issues of relationship dynamic, and especially the balance of self and other. It is simultaneously true as well that you will also be more connected to your mission of service to the surrounding collective. You are all about walking your talk these days, seeking how to combine your work in the world with your most cherished values as your “two eyes make one in sight,” not allowing there to be any discernible difference.
The following was written by our resident monthly columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School
The month begins just after a New Moon in your home sign of Leo, on July 31st, and just as Sun, Moon, and Venus in your home sign of Leo are making a square to Uranus in Taurus in your tenth house of career. Overall, this month is therefore toned by the need to make a fresh start, by the need to actively seek out greater freedoms or opportunities for creative self-expression and career choices that somehow transcend or defy limitations or conventions. You may also find that your health, appearance, or personal care routines are being dramatically changed or altered right now, or that you are working to redefine yourself both personally and professionally. These themes will likely persist throughout the month.
Late on July 31st, also, or early Thursday, August 1st, Mercury will also turn direct in the sign of Cancer, in your twelfth house of self-undoing and dissolution. This transit signals the beginning of the end of a period of emotional, mental, and communicative challenges in relationships, or perhaps with family members. It may also suggest the end of a challenging period financially, since Mercury is the ruler of your second house of money and resources. After several weeks of Mercury’s retrograde, this should be welcome news to start the month with.
Between August 5th and the 8th, the Sun and Venus in your home sign of Leo will make trines to Jupiter in Sagittarius in your fifth house of creativity, joy, and good fortune, a signal that you are likely going to be feeling energized, playful, creative, and inspired. You may also receive a wave of positive support from your relationships during this time.
On August 11th, Mercury will then enter your home sign of Leo, just as Uranus turns retrograde in your tenth house of career, and just as Jupiter is turning direct in your fifth house of creativity and joy. This is a powerful sequence of events, which suggests that your career or professional trajectory might be slowly starting to shift, and perhaps for the better, just as you are also starting to find your voice or regain a sense of confidence and mental clarity.
On August 15th, the Full Moon in Aquarius will land in your seventh house of relationships, emphasizing your partners or partnerships. Given Mercury’s square to defiant Uranus happening at the same time, it would not be surprising for you to be entering into more heated, provocative, or inspiring conversations with others right now. Given the strong need for freedom and autonomy you are likely experiencing at the same time of this Full Moon, it could make for a tricky balancing act to consider the needs of others.
On August 18th, Mars will then enter Virgo and move into your second house of finances, emphasizing productivity, hard work, and possibly even a series of challenges or conflicts related to money, business, or personal resources for more than a month to come.
Between August 23rd and 25th, Venus in Virgo will conjoin Mars in Virgo in your second house, followed by Mercury entering Virgo on the 29th, and then a New Moon in Virgo on August 30th. This entire sequence of planetary events points to a very powerful emphasis on the topic of your money and finances in the month ahead. Given the Virgo/Mercurial emphasis, it is likely that you are cleaning, organizing, and purging your environment, re-visioning your budget, selling things you no longer need, or even changing your diet. With a loos T-square being formed to Neptune in Pisces and Jupiter in Sagittarius from the Virgo stellium, it’s a great time to develop or hone ideas or skills that may become more profitable or lucrative in the future. At the same time, you should be careful that you do not become a perfectionist or that you do not slave away toward a set of unrealistic wishes or dreams. If you temper your expectations, work hard but remain open and flexible, good things are likely to come as September rolls along.
