This is another in the series of upside-down months for you, Aries, as you recover during its first two weeks from the retrograde of Mercury through your fourth and fifth sectors of home, family, and creative self-expression. These areas have been questioned by you, and continue to be, while you are somewhat struggling to re-define yourself and your sense of mission as the month continues to unfold. By the mid-month Aquarius Full Moon, Mercury is fully out of its retrograde shadow, solidifying new directions for you. Relationships with important others take on added significance at this stage, and partners may be very helpful in helping to refine your viewpoint. Still, you recognize that you are basically on your own in the discovery of new directions for yourself, moving forward. All the while, personal transformation is in the air, as you experience a renewed sense of personal mission statement, attempting to intuit where your own deepest values lie, that are the final determinant in your decision process.
The following was written by our resident monthly columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School
August begins right on the heels of the New Moon in Leo in your fifth house of good fortune, creativity, and joy, and just as Sun, Moon, and Venus in Leo make a square to Uranus in Taurus in your second house of income and expenditures. The lunation cycle ahead is thus toned by the desire to seek out joy, romance, freedom, and beauty in unexpected places or with eccentric or creative people. This transit may also provide a few hiccups or unexpected financial twists and turns, so you should be especially careful of overspending or impulsive purchases.
Late on July 31st, also, or early Thursday, August 1st, Mercury will turn direct in the sign of Cancer in your fourth house after several weeks of being retrograde. Watch for positive turnarounds related to your home and property or related to communication with family members.
Between August 5th to the 8th, the Sun and Venus in Leo in your fifth house will make trines to Jupiter in Sagittarius in your ninth house. Watch for themes of joy, creativity, romance, friendship, faith, learning or travel to show up strongly.
Then on August 11th, Mercury will enter Leo and move into your fifth house, just as Uranus is turning retrograde in your second house and Jupiter is turning direct in your ninth house. With the Moon also conjoining Saturn in your career house at this time, it’s an especially good time to revise your professional and financial trajectory, to adopt a new strategy, or to consider an alternative approach to something you’ve been stuck on. Also, watch for guides and teachers to appear right now, or for your intuition to appear at an opportune moment.
Between August 13th and 14th, Venus will be cazimi with the Sun in Leo in your fifth house of creativity, children, and joy. Watch for an especially empowered moment of creativity, romance, and unexpected good fortune to come along. Don’t be surprised if the importance of women, friendships, and romance is also heightened.
On August 15th, the Full Moon in Aquarius will land in your eleventh house of friends and allies, just as Mercury in Leo is squaring Uranus in Taurus. Watch for an especially inventive and forward-thinking energy, perhaps related to your friends, groups, or colleagues, and watch for it to appear somewhat suddenly. It’s a period of excited mental and intellectual energy, so be careful about overstimulation or nervous energy, as well.
On August 18th, your ruling planet, Mars, will enter Virgo and move into your sixth house of work, sickness, and service, indicating a period of hard and perhaps earthy or detail-oriented work in the weeks to come. Be careful of the potential to suddenly become a perfectionist or to exhaust yourself but otherwise use the energy of Mars to be productive and to improve your health.
Between August 23rd and 25th, Venus will then conjoin with your ruling planet, Mars, in Virgo in your sixth house, emphasizing teamwork, romance or love in the workplace, the need to analyze, fix or perfect problems or shortcomings, perhaps specifically within the context of romantic or work-based relationships.
Finally, on August 30th, the New Moon in Virgo will fall in your sixth house, in a stellium that includes Mercury, Venus, and Mars, as well. Given the loose T-square being created to Neptune in your twelfth house and Jupiter in your ninth house, it’s likely that the Moon cycle to come will be dealing specifically with issues pertaining to your health, to faith and learning, and to a deeper period of introspection or personal healing. We’ll take a deeper look at how this plays out in September’s horoscope. Stay tuned!
