This is a month of coalescing identity, Sagittarius, a time when you will come closer to understanding who you are and who you really want to be. In addition to two interesting eclipses this July, the retrograde of Mercury is powerful, officially starting on the 7th and lasting throughout the month. Taking place in your ninth solar sector, corresponding to themes of Higher Mind, such as education and worldview, this transit parallels your thoughts moving into an introspective and largely internal mode, as you mull over questions of what you are truly up to in this lifetime. Your intuition is powerful now, as is your sense of an important life mission that is yours to fulfill. It is possible that issues of inner wounding could arise for the ultimate purpose of getting better acquainted with the dark places within you, the residue of early childhood trauma. Along with closely examining every nuance of your own interior depths, intimacy with yourself and others becomes a major motif.

The month begins in astrological terms on July 2nd, with a Solar Eclipse in Cancer in your eighth house of death and rebirth. This activates a period of deeper emotional, and perhaps even familial or ancestral transformation in the weeks and months to come. You may also notice that changes in a romantic relationship, or in relationship to a spouse or partner’s job or money is emphasized in the weeks ahead, or that you are taking out a loan or perhaps even paying off a loan. Issues with an inheritance could also come up for you, as well as considerations around joint purchases or investments. These changes may not occur immediately, but may instead take place over the next three to six months.
Between July 7th and 9th, Mercury in Leo will conjoin with Mars in your ninth house of higher education, long journeys, and spirituality, just as Mercury is turning retrograde. A close and critical analysis of your beliefs and ideals might now be called for, and it’s important that you try to take your ego out of the equation. You don’t want to run people over with the force of your convictions. It’s also a good time for adventurous travel, or for a revision or reconfiguring of your guiding principles, rules, or codes, whether they pertain to a relationship, your home, your job, or even your spiritual life.
Then, between July 9th and the 16th, the Sun in Cancer in your eighth house of death, rebirth, and other people’s money, will oppose Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn in your second house of income and expenditures. On July 16th, a Lunar Eclipse will fall in proximity to Pluto in your second house. It’s a great time for downsizing or selling something, or for a significant change of financial structure or even dietary changes. The energy of this Lunar Eclipse signals an ending, as well as a turning point in relation to your possessions, times, money, and energy. There is a restructuring process that is happening, but it first requires that you consolidate or let go of something that you own, in order that you complete some necessary transformation in this area; perhaps something that requires a lot of maintenance or labor.
Then, between July 16th and the 21st, Venus in Cancer will reactivate the eclipse points and oppose Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn in your second house. Whatever financial transformations are at work within your life this month are likely to be involved in your love life, or they might include friends, women, or potential business partners. While the potential for fruitful collaboration is there for you right now, you should also be prepared for the process of this transit to include the sometimes difficult but necessary chore of negotiating serious conflicts of value or interest. Harmony is possible here, but you also shouldn’t be scared to walk away from a deal that isn’t even.
Finally, on July 31st, the New Moon in Leo falls in your ninth house, with Sun and Moon in conjunction with Venus, while these three personal planets make squares to Uranus in Taurus in your sixth house of day-to-day events, health, and service. As you begin to move on next month from the energy of the eclipses, this next lunar cycle places a strong emphasis on your need to dialogue about your beliefs with others, with also a desire for greater creative freedom or independence. You are going to be involved as well with the search for higher truth and its relationship to art, beauty, women, sexuality, and perhaps foreign places or cultures. You may also be prone to breaking tradition and rules, or to finding creative ways of being of service to others.
