This is a great month for many of your activities and predilections, Taurus. There is energy available in spades for you as the New Moon of May 4th lands directly in your sign, with your ruler, Venus, partaking of Neptunian fantasy, and with Trickster Uranus powerfully activated. This implies amazing cosmic coincidences and other surprising events, with also the unexpected enlightenment that you can glean from these departures from the norm. That is, provided you can stay alert and keep your eyes on the true prize. Your work is important to you right now, although more as a path to allowing your inner values greater scope. You are called to a mission of service to a more heart-felt and natural alignment. Only the sky is the limit on what you can currently accomplish by staying true to your intuition. Partners aid you in the further exploration of intimacy with your own insides, as your set of beliefs changes beyond all previous recognition.
The following was written by this month's guest columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School
The month begins just as Mercury in Aries in your twelfth house of dissolution and surrender is conjunct Eris and squaring Saturn, as well as Pluto, in Capricorn in your ninth house of the higher mind, and just as Mercury and Mars in Gemini are forming a sextile with mutual reception (May 1st to May 3rd). With Saturn and Pluto having also recently turned retrograde in your ninth house, you are being invited to look at the difference between limiting ideas and beliefs versus those that support or sustain you. To get the most out of this transit, it’s important that you give yourself plenty of time and space to think and process your thoughts, otherwise you are likely to feel frustrated and run the risk of getting stuck in a stubborn or rigid approach to solving your problems.
On May 4th, the New Moon will fall in your home sign of Taurus, emphasizing the importance of your physical health and well being in the month ahead. With Venus also aspecting Neptune in your eleventh house of future plans, this is a very idealistic period for you. It’s also a great time to birth a new project or to press the reset button on your physical and psychological health.
Between May 5th and May 6th, Mars in Gemini in your second house of finances will oppose Jupiter in Sagittarius in your eighth house. This is a time of increased financial opportunities and growth, as well as financial obligations or expenditures. It’s also a good time to take an aggressive approach to business or investing but be careful that you do not unnecessary risks.
Between May 7th and May 8th, Mercury will conjoin Uranus in your home sign of Taurus, bringing a spark of change, innovation, and insight. You may experience a moment of unusual mental clarity, or you may find that you are receiving unexpected news or learning something new and exciting. You may also feel the need to express yourself in unusual or eccentric ways.
Between May 6th and May 10th, your ruling planet, Venus, from the sign Aries in your twelfth house of dissolution and surrender will square Saturn, the South Node, and Pluto in Capricorn in the ninth house of the higher mind, while simultaneously conjuncting Eris and making a trine to Jupiter in Sagittarius in your eighth house of death and other people’s money. During this period, it’s likely that you will be looking at conflicting values or philosophies in your relationships, perhaps specifically related to money, finances or business. You might be feeling somewhat frustrated this month, but you should be careful not to act from a rash or overly rigid or impulsive position. You will be thinking much more clearly when Venus finally enters your home sign of Taurus on May 15th, at which point a clear solution to challenges is more likely.
Between May 10th and the 15th, the Sun in Taurus will make trines to Saturn, the South Node, and Pluto in Capricorn, and on May 14th, a Grand trine in Earth will take shape while the Moon is in Virgo. All of this marks a period of greater productivity and practicality. You are likely to feel something of a natural high during this period, as Taurus has a natural affinity for the earthy progress and practical action indicated here.
On May 18th, the Full Moon in Scorpio will land in your seventh house of partnership, while Venus will conjoin Uranus in Taurus in your first house, bringing with it a moment of culmination and change in all your relationships. The need to individuate, to break free, and to free yourself from unnecessary constraints will be quite strong during this Full Moon. This might also wind up playing out especially strong in your intimate partnerships.
From May 22nd to the 24th, Mars in Cancer in your third house will square Chiron in Aries in your twelfth house, bringing with it a moment of inner wounds coming up, potentially leading to deep emotional and mental healing. It’s a good time to speak directly, and honestly, with those that you love. However, you should also be careful of being blindsided by someone who may see you as the perfect place to dump or offload their most intense feelings and needs at this time, which may not be a good thing.
From May 29th to the 30th, Mercury in Gemini in your second house of money and finances will square Neptune in Pisces in your eleventh house of friends, allies, and groups, and then immediately oppose Jupiter in Sagittarius in your eighth house of other people’s money. This sequence closes out the month by bringing a synthesis of some kind related to money or business. You are likely looking at some significant decisions around the sale or purchase of something, or at the giving or sharing of resources, perhaps for the sake of a higher philosophical or spiritual purpose. The opportunity for your time and energy to be directed toward something of higher importance is rare and sacred, so remember to make your biggest decisions this month based on your core values and beliefs.
