This is a passionate and provocative month for you, Aries, with planets changing signs and inner planets changing direction. The universe is nudging you – at times gently and at other times not so gently – into looking beneath the covers of all your relationships for the deeper motivation. You are all the while reviewing and revising your very belief systems toward greater acknowledgment of the unseen and unknown; and these are factors of your subconscious places within you. Everything you have going takes on a major shift mid-month when Venus changes to forward motion in your opposite sign, just as Mercury Retrogrades. This initiates a time of feeling a bit lost to the outer world of events and circumstances, although coming more alive in terms of using an illogical process of deep intuition to allow for course corrections and sudden epiphanies concerning your life’s true direction. As actress and comedienne Lily Tomlin likes to put it, “the road to your success is always under construction.”
The following was written by this month's guest columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School
The month begins with retrograde Venus now in relationship-oriented Libra, corresponding to your seventh house of partnership, while the Leo Moon briefly opposes your ruler Mars, still in Aquarius, corresponding to your eleventh house of friends, group affiliations, and future plans. After considerable thoughtful engagement with all facets of your societal connection, you remain vitally concerned with the way that you exteriorize your deepest values into the social sphere that surrounds you.
Then, on November 7th, the Scorpio New Moon falls in your eighth house of transformation, death, and rebirth. This New Moon promises to catalyze much healing and growth for you, especially in your relationships or through deeper emotional exchanges with others. You are also motivated to find innovative ways to share your most sincere ideas and goals with others around you.
Meanwhile, all month long, Venus will be retrograde in the sign of Libra, in your seventh house of relationships, opposite Uranus in your home sign of Aries, thus in your first house of “self.” The need to amend, revise, or rethink agreements, partnerships, or issues pertaining to your romantic relationships will be pronounced. Watch especially for a shift in the cosmic weather when Venus turns direct on November 17th. This is a good time to consolidate changes that have been in the works for your relationships, or it may reflect a change of direction or momentum in this important area. Also, note that on November 30th, Venus will exactly oppose Uranus, bringing all of the above themes to a head and putting an exclamation point on a month of disruption, change, and innovation.
On November 8th, Jupiter enters Sagittarius and moves into your ninth house of religion, higher education, and the higher mind, where it will stay for the next year. After a long year of Jupiter moving through Scorpio and the eighth house, you are ready to soar to new heights both intellectually and spiritually, or you might literally be ready to travel the globe. Whatever the case might be, the year ahead will bring a fiery focus to the topics of faith, belief, hope, and the quest for truth.
November 15th your ruling planet, Mars, will change signs and move into Pisces after spending most of its time in Aquarius since the middle of May, it will then square Jupiter in Sagittarius on November 19th. This sequence indicates that you are moving into a deeper period of personal introspection as well as religious and spiritual, or intellectual expansion, simultaneously. It is a good time to exert yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally for the sake of your spiritual growth, or to purge or purify yourself from unwanted negativity or environmental toxicity.
On November 17th Mercury turns retrograde in Sagittarius in your ninth house of the higher mind in a square to Neptune in the twelfth house of dissolution and transcendence. This transit similarly points to the need to rethink your beliefs or philosophical commitments. Be careful of becoming zealous as you may not be seeing everything clearly right now, but don’t be surprised if you are also feeling mentally inspired or unusually open to higher messages or visions.
November 22nd into the 23rd, the Full Moon in Gemini in your third house of communication and the mind opposes the Sun and Jupiter in Sagittarius in your ninth house of the higher mind, while also creating a t-square with Mars in Pisces, therefore in your twelfth house. You are being given an opportunity to explore your philosophical, religious, or spiritual values this month, especially your personal doubts. The questions you are consider will likely force you to explore your own shortcomings, personal weaknesses, doubts, fears, or insecurities. Surrender is never easy for the warrior spirit of Aries; although don’t forget, one of the traditional symbolic meanings of the planet Mars was that of the martyr, or that brave soul who might die for the sake of a cause or belief. We don’t have to literally die to serve something bigger than ourselves, but often enough some level of ego death is required.
