This is another major month for you, Pisces, with additions to your already-steep learning curve and with a studied and almost unconscious determination to advance your evolutionary agenda. As you are beginning to recognize, the more so, the more you can allow yourself to dream into what your inner world is trying to tell you, there is a steady and yet friendly pressure upon you on the part of the universe to define who you really are, You are attempting to seize the moment for coming to better understand and act upon your own unique values. As you sort things out, what truly comes to your aid is the current retrograde of Venus through your sector of higher mind. Your worldview is subject to changes now, and you do well to allow these to happen to you naturally. You are coming into more intimate terms with others around you, and with your own inner world, and your deeper self is silently applauding the process.
The following was written by this month's guest columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School
On October 1st and 2nd, your month gets started with Mercury in Libra, in your eighth house of death and rebirth, squaring Pluto in Capricorn in your eleventh house of friends and groups. Social anxiety is sometimes a sign that we are ready to embody a new version of ourselves, or it can be an indication that something needs to change in relation to the people or groups we associated with. Either way, you can expect that the content of your social life will be in the spotlight, with an opportunity for deeper honesty, sharing, and transformation.
On October 5th, Venus will turn retrograde in your ninth house of the higher mind and long journeys. For the rest of the month you will be evaluating or reflecting upon your beliefs. Ever since last November, for almost a year now your ruling planet, Jupiter, has been transiting through your ninth house, indicating that you’ve been in a lengthy process of learning, studying, or perhaps committing yourself more deeply to spiritual study. Now, just as Jupiter prepares to enter your tenth house of career next month, and as Venus turns retrograde, this process of learning and expanding your mind and heart is culminating with an exploration of how the changes you’ve been experiencing in this area are aligning with your relationships. It’s an excellent time to explore how your beliefs inform your relationships and vice versa, as you near a time of great personal and professional expansion in the year ahead.
On October 8th, the New Moon in Libra falls in your eighth house of death and rebirth. The eighth house was also traditionally related to “other people’s money” or even inheritance or loans. It’s therefore possible for this New Moon to put financial topics into the spotlight, along with questions about your relationships. With Pluto emphasized, the way that you put your energy out there socially will also come up for revision and alteration, along with your plans for the future. Additionally, the 8th house New Moon indicates that you are on the cusp of a significant moment of personal transformation in general. The changes ahead may involve the challenges of facing your fears or letting go of that which is no longer serving you. Even though the unknown can be scary, you are poised for a significant breakthrough, so that you can relax and allow yourself trust the process.
On October 10th Venus retrograde in Scorpio in your ninth house of the higher mind will square Mars in Aquarius in your twelfth house of dissolution and transcendence, and at the same time, Mercury enters Scorpio to there oppose rebellious Uranus in the sign of Taurus in your third house of mentality, learning, siblings, and communication. You are ready to communicate something of the inspiration or learning that you’ve accumulated over a long period of time, or perhaps you are poised to speak your mind or engage in an important debate or dialogue. However, with Mars in your twelfth house, it’s possible that whatever has been pent up or hidden from sight is also ready to come out right now, in which case you should exercise some degree of caution, or at least be prepared for a slightly disruptive spate of energy. It’s also not uncommon to receive unexpected news, flashes of insight, or sudden inspiration during a transit like this.
October 11th, the Sun in Libra in the eighth house of death and rebirth will exactly square Pluto in your eleventh house of friends and groups. You can easily see through the façade right now, both your own and others, so it’s a good time to enlighten up and make changes, especially within your social circles or in groups you belong to. Try to remain as balanced and objective as you can about whatever anxieties, doubts, or fears you are experiencing right now, but remember that no amount of rationalizing will eliminate the reality of mystery and uncertainty from our lives!
October 19th, Mercury in Scorpio in your ninth house of the higher mind will square Mars in Aquarius in your twelfth house of dissolution and transcendence. It’s an excellent time to mine the depths of a subject or to get immersed in a learning process. Mercury and Mars together bring mental sharpness and agility, argumentation and debate, and rapid learning or skill development. At the same time, you may be feeling easily agitated, moody, or restless during this transit, so be sure to find ways of venting both mentally and emotionally so that you don’t get overwhelmed.
Lastly, the Full Moon of October 24th will conjoin Uranus in Taurus in your third house of communication and the mind, there to oppose Venus retrograde in Scorpio in the ninth house of higher mind. With Venus in Scorpio also set to oppose Uranus in Taurus on October 30th, and then crossing backward into Libra on the 31st, the end of the month is going to be intense. While the emphasis on spirituality, learning, and maybe even travel, are undoubtedly pronounced this month, so too are themes of mental and intellectual innovation or rebellion. You are ready to communicate more openly with others about what you’ve been learning for the past year, and you might be ready to plant your flag and take a stand about something intellectually, morally, or spiritually. The question of how to best approach these things within your relationships is potentially delicate and vulnerable. Just remember, you are naturally a person of compassion, and as you express whatever passion you are ready to share with the world, you are at your best when you embody a spirit of wisdom and compassion all at once.
