You are currently in recovery and consolidation mode, Aquarius, now that you are past the retrogrades and the eclipses of summer, and you find yourself focusing on home and family issues, also connection with others. The New Moon eclipse of mid-August was huge for you, and put you into a mode of trying to more directly understand important partners as well as the overall impact of relationship in your life. You have experienced limitation and a degree of painful process, and you are struggling to integrate this material. It could be that ancient wounding has been the subject of recent meditations, and that an intuitive understanding of their significance for you in present-day terms has been developing within you. In all of these deliberations there is a noteworthy emphasis on your own unconscious process. As a significant side effect, when you more fully resolve these issues, and how they stem from hidden realms within your psyche, you will also better understand your world and your place within it.
The following was written by this month's guest columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School
The month begins as Mercury in Leo in your seventh house of relationships is making a sextile to Venus in Libra, culminating on September 3rd, in your ninth house of higher education, spirituality, and travel. It’s an excellent time for finding common ground with others, spiritually or intellectually, and it’s also a great time for travel, adventure, or socializing with others. Though you tend to appreciate social life more than the average bear, you are by no means someone who craves the spotlight. However, it may easily annoy you to be around others right now who are seeking excessive attention or constantly dictating the direction of the conversation.
On September 8th, Venus in Libra in your ninth house will then square Mars in Capricorn in your twelfth house of dissolution, healing, and surrender. Mars-Venus squares frequently embody sexual and/or creative tension, which in this case may also take on spiritual or religious dimensions or may involve some level of healing or personal sharing that is more intense and vulnerable. At the same time, you may be working to restrain, control, or balance your passions and desires right now because they are more intense than usual.
On September 9th, the New Moon in Virgo falls in your eighth house of death and rebirth, and other people’s money, in an opposition to Neptune in the second house of money, resources, and values. It’s likely that you are having some conversations about finances in your relationships right now, or it’s possible that you are considering some serious changes to your personal budget or financial strategy, perhaps in the hopes of eliminating debt or excessive expenditures. On the other hand, with the New Moon taking place in a house that was traditionally associated with anxiety, you may be facing some uncertainty about your future. Either way, the promise of an eighth house New Moon is that you are ready to face some fears and to move through them in a healthy way. This works just as long as you are ready to listen to the higher guidance of the universe and to see things as they really are.
On September 12th, Venus in Scorpio in your tenth house of career will oppose Uranus in Taurus in your fourth house of home and family, indicating that there might be some sudden changes either at work or on the home front. Venus in combination with Uranus loves to defy traditional sexual and artistic values, so you might be noticing a rebellious or highly creative energy surrounding the way you communicate or express yourself, or within your close relationships, as well as in the work place or within your home or family.
On September 18th, Mars in Aquarius in your first house will also square Uranus in Taurus in your fourth house of home and family. You have just been through a long summer with Mars retrograde in your first house, a transit that can bring up issues related to personal power and disempowerment, anger and aggression, and even personal health. The good news is that with Mars now moving back through your home sign in direct motion, you are ready to reap the results of all the hard work you’ve been doing. This may manifest right now in terms of the desire for greater independence and freedom, or rapid and intense personal changes that are intimately related to your home or living situation, parents and family, or your personal and ancestral heritage.
Between September 22nd and 23rd the Sun will pass through the gateway of the Fall Equinox, entering Libra and moving for the next thirty days into your ninth house of higher education, religion, and travel. It’s an excellent time for deepening your spiritual or academic studies or practices, connecting with teachers or enlightening friends, planning or taking a travel adventure somewhere, and generally reflecting on the bigger and deeper questions of life.
Finally, on September 24th, the Full Moon will fall in Aries in your third house, opposite the Sun and Mercury in Libra in your ninth house and T-square to Saturn in Capricorn in your twelfth house. You are at a moral, intellectual, and spiritual crossroads right now. With your ruling planet, Saturn, in the twelfth house, you are likely craving solitude, contemplation, and nature, or you may find that you are trying to work yourself out of a funk or reconnect to a larger vision or sense of purpose. Take heart and remember that you thrive when you find meaningful conversations, groups of people, and ideas to stimulate your mind. You are less alone in the world when you share yourself and your inner life with others, and yet, it is also completely natural to feel at times like you are not entirely of this world at all.
