Leo Horoscope for July 2018

Posted on June 30, 2018 by Henry Seltzer of ASTROGRAPH.COM

This is a month of depth work for you, Leo. You emerge out of one kind of tunnel through unknown waters and into another at the July 27th Lunar Eclipse, when partnership becomes your focus. Leading up to this, through the very dramatic Solar Eclipse of July 12th, you are living consciously only part way. Much of your attention is plunged into the wellsprings of your personality – the further stretches that lie below the visible layers where dwell many monsters of the deep. While living large below the surface, you are also putting yourself out there, in all senses, with career perspectives that keep shifting to ever more nuanced levels. Your future plans have a great deal of focus now, and are steeped in dreamscapes of unconscious communication, as well as real-world commitment. You will however encounter obstacles in seeing the dream fulfilled. After midmonth the streams of unconscious perspectives become louder and more insistent. You are seeing your way through to a brand-new mode of thinking and of feeling.

It’s a dynamic month for you Leo, with a major lunar eclipse rolling through your opposite sign of Aquarius at the end of this month, affecting relationships and your attitude toward the very concept of partnership in your life.

Your month gets kick-started on July 5th when Mercury in Leo in your first house opposes Mars retrograde in Aquarius in your seventh house, while both planets are simultaneously conjunct the nodes of the Moon. You’re at a karmic crossroads this month in terms of your relationships. This transit is foreshadowing a deeper dialogue, conflict, or negotiation you are trying to accomplish. It might be taking place between yourself and a partner, or it may be a theme that is permeating all your interpersonal connections. Either way, be sure to listen to the requirements and challenges of others while also communicating your own needs and your own struggles. Balanced communication will go a long way toward avoiding blowouts.

Then, also on July 5th, the Sun in Cancer in your twelfth house will trine Jupiter in Scorpio in your fourth house with Jupiter moving quite slowly, getting ready to turn direct on July 10th. Watch for themes of healing, growth, and transformation in your home and family life. You may have to confront some shadows, sadness, grief, or inner angst, although this call to the inside is basically positive, featuring your living situation, or perhaps your family of origin or current family dynamics, and with Jupiter turning direct, there is an opportunity for a positive change of direction and a restoral of faith and confidence.

On July 9th Mercury in Leo in your first house will square Jupiter in Scorpio in your fourth house. You may be concerned right now with your legacy, with your family history, or with issues pertaining to land or property. Watch for themes of aggrandizement, overly confident or cocksure communication, boasting, or bullying. On the other hand, it’s a great time to communicate with deeper conviction, heart, and wisdom. If you have something to say, and if it’s coming from your heart, then remember that you have the amazing ability of encouraging and inspiring those around you!

On July 12th the Sun opposes Pluto in your sixth house as the New Moon (a solar eclipse!) occurs in Cancer in your twelfth house. This solar eclipse emphasizes the need for emotional healing this month, especially in relation to your home and family. You might seek out time alone to heal or to process what you’re feeling, or you may need some time set aside for meditation and reflection. This eclipse may force you to make significant lifestyle changes in relation to your mental, physical, and spiritual health, and especially if you are hiding from fully acknowledging any bad habits or unhealthy secrets.

July 18th Mars conjoins the South Node of the Moon in Aquarius in your seventh house. The topic of your relationships is a strong one for you all summer, as Mars continues its long retrograde in your house of marriage and partnerships. The conjunction of Mars to the South Node right now represents a significant turning point, a moment of release, culmination, or catharsis. Your partner may be experiencing significant changes or challenges, or your relationship itself might be demanding that things change if the partnership is to last. On the other hand, if you are single, you might be revisiting themes or people from your romantic past right now, or you might be considering whether to commit to someone you’ve recently met.

On July 24th, Venus will oppose Neptune across your second and eighth house axis. Watch for themes of overindulgence and intoxication, impulsive spending and loose boundAries, as well as cravings, fantasies, and romantic impulses that can’t be bothered with critical thinking. On the other hand, you may find that you are enjoying a romantic vacation or a temporary break from the daily grind. It’s a magical moment, appealing to your senses and your wallet at once. Make sure that you aren’t being manipulated by the forces of this glamorous transit, whether these come from within or without!

Finally, on July 27th the Sun in Leo opposes Mars in Aquarius at the time of a Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius, across your 1st and 8thhouse axis, while both are square to Uranus in Taurus in your tenth house. This is a huge eclipse for you that once again shines the spotlight on your relationships and on the need for a balance between your own personal interests and the requirements, demands, or tribulations of others. You could also be looking under the covers of your partnership motivation for the truest story. There is a unique pressure being placed on you right now from the tenth house of your career, where the planetary archetype of trickster Uranus is coaxing you to make modifications professionally, to challenge authority or convention, or to make sweeping life changes that affect all areas of your life. The temptation to cut ties, burn bridges, and trim the fat may be strong, but just remember that nobody does anything alone. You will always need allies, lovers, friends, and peers to support and share your victories with, and the way you end things almost always marks the way you begin things!
