Gemini Horoscope for July 2018

This is another vital and changeful month for you, Gemini, when your values and the way that you convey them to others around you are truly on the line. There has been a rush of energy for inhabiting your own unique viewpoint, based in part on a potent intuitional awareness of what is going on below the surface, including inner wounding, with the weight of personal relationships poised as a counter-balance. You have been feeling a mystical pull to higher service, to the extent that you can open to it, overshadowing normative career paths. After midmonth it all becomes more intense, with the eclipses of summer upon us. The July 12th Solar Eclipse is powerful, enhancing and bringing into far greater focus all the areas described above, as you move into an even greater understanding of the impact of the ideals of partnership versus the actuality, and your own consequent transformation. The July 27th Lunar Eclipse sees you revisioning your worldview and future plans.

This month features two big eclipses, plus the ongoing effects of Mars retrograde. These affect you in areas of intimacy, interpersonal communication, and learning curve in general. Things haven’t slowed down much in the sky over the past few months, so I hope you’re ready for another adventure.

The month gets kick-started on July 5th when Mercury in Leo in your third house opposes Mars retrograde in Aquarius in your ninth house, while both planets are simultaneously conjunct the nodes of the Moon. You may find yourself at an intellectual or spiritual crossroads right now, perhaps asking yourself what is worth fighting for and where compromises should be made. Watch for themes of communicative conflict, reappearing beliefs or debates from the past, as well as the need to assert yourself, your mind, or your beliefs. Though you are generally as flexible as they come, you may find that you are ready to define your commitments.

Then, also on July 5th, the Sun in Cancer in your second house will trine Jupiter in Scorpio in your sixth house with Jupiter moving quite slowly, getting ready to turn direct on July 10th. You may be given ample opportunities for work right now, or you might find that with some hard work and good luck you are seeing rapid returns on work-related projects. With Jupiter about to turn direct you may also find that you are at an auspicious turning point with projects you have been revising or working on for a long time now.

On July 9th Mercury in Leo in your third house will square Jupiter in Scorpio in your sixth house. You may have some hard negotiating to do, or some critical choices to make. It’s important to keep a level head because the temptation to either overthink or overestimate things is strong.

July 12th the Sun opposes Pluto as the New Moon eclipse takes place in Cancer and thus your second house. This is technically a solar eclipse, even though the nodes will still be in Leo and Aquarius, so prepare for an especially powerful change in relation to your finances. This could involve a legacy or other forms of “money from others.” You may be signing a new contract, beginning a new job, or investing in something new. This eclipse marks a powerful transformation in relation to your values, material possessions or expenses, or even your overall financial philosophy. The waves from this juncture will be rippling through your life for months to come. With the Sun and Moon opposite Pluto, you may also notice themes of death and rebirth, or personal transformation and the call to evaluate your values and priorities from an entirely new perspective.


July 18th Mars conjoins the South Node of the Moon in Aquarius in your ninth house. All summer long as Mars retrogrades through your ninth house along with the South Node you are searching for higher truth, whether that be through returning to school, deepening your current studies, or wrestling over your beliefs. There is an opportunity right now to greatly simplify or reconsider a philosophy that you’ve tried without success too many times in the past. Now may be the perfect moment to let go of convictions and beliefs that aren’t serving you in favor of a new set of beliefs or practices.

On July 24th, Venus will oppose Neptune across your tenth and fourth house axis. You might be longing for an impossible love right now, or you may find your attention wandering from one fantasy to the next without a clear idea of what you really need or want. Watch for themes of creative inspiration, romantic impulsivity, intoxication and delusion, and altered states of consciousness. You are also working toward a balance between the earthly realities of your everyday life, such as your home and family situation, and the larger professional dreams or deep calling that you feel.

Finally, on July 27th the Sun in Leo opposes Mars in Aquarius at the time of a Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius, across your 3rd and 9th house axis, while both are square to Uranus in Taurus in your twelfth house. You will find renewed emphasis on themes related to your mind, speech, communication, learning, and/or higher beliefs. A strong power of intuition is available to you as you look more deeply into your plans for the future. Be careful though of rationalizing self-destructive behavior, or of a reckless impulse to make sudden changes based on impulsive new ideas or a surging sense of self-righteous conviction. On the other hand, sometimes to grow and heal and evolve we must take a stand for what we believe, and while it may not be easy, if it’s our truth, then we must act decisively. Your relationship to truth is precious to you Gemini, and it is made ever more precious when you have come a long way, with much open-minded pondering, to arrive at a firm commitment.
