Taurus Horoscope for March 2018

This is a very special time for you, Taurus, when you are struggling somewhat to make your dreams a reality, and when you must school yourself on details and take in a more balanced viewpoint on what you are truly up to. In this process you are also learning to trust your heart as well as your head in discovering your ideal pathway forward. Your intuition is strong, as is your sense of your own values, both together with and independent from consensus thinking on the matter. This is a time also of illusion and the potential for self-deception, and also of exaggerated notions of potential gains or possibilities without regard for any downside; a good time in other words to be careful and to look before you leap. The strong presence of limiting Saturn in this month’s alignments ensures that there will be reality checks to deal with down the road, so that it helps to be prepared for them.

The following was written by this month's guest columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School

The month of March begins with a Full Moon in your fifth house of children, creativity and joy. The spotlight shining in this area reminds you to take joy in the small things and to make your happiness and/or the happiness of your children a top priority!

On March 4th the Sun and Neptune conjoin in Pisces, therefore in your eleventh house, while Mercury and Venus also conjoin in Pisces. It’s a good time for finding kindred spirits who share similar dreams and goals, though you should be careful to make sure the path forward is clear and the next steps practical, or else there might be a temptation to get lost in the clouds. You could also end up responsible for more than you can handle, so be careful of what you sign up for!

Late March 5th into early March 6th Mercury will cross into Aries and on March 6th Venus will also enter Aries, both moving into your twelfth house. Communication challenges in relationships are pronounced during this transit. Don’t be a doormat for anyone’s bad attitude, but also be careful that you are speaking your mind. Many a molehill turns into a mountain because we don’t take the time to communicate honestly and openly to others our needs, feelings, or concerns.

Between late in the evening of March 10th through March 13th Mercury and Venus in Aries will be moving through square aspects to Saturn in Capricorn in your ninth house. It’s natural to experience spiritual or existential doubt, and it’s also natural to question authority and tradition. However, if we are to advance on any spiritual or intellectual path we must be open to instruction and constructive criticism, from both within and without.

On March 17th the New Moon in late Pisces and your eleventh house makes for a fresh start in matters of friendship, goals, and group affiliations that you favor. You might feel called to support a just cause for the betterment of society in general. Mars also enters Capricorn and thus moves into your ninth house, signaling a period of growth, hard work, and passionate inquiry into religious or spiritual matters. You may find yourself studying or learning something new, returning to school, working or traveling abroad, or even advocating for a political cause or important ethical matter.

March 20th marks the Spring Equinox, at which time the Sun goes into Aries and moves into your twelfth house. At this time every year you might feel like a butterfly about to emerge from a wintry cocoon. It’s natural to feel somewhat unsettled as the Aries energy is quite youthful, fast, and unstable compared to your stable, Taurean qualities. Don’t worry, the bustle and burn will slow down and soon enough it will be your time to emerge and enjoy the full and luxurious blossomings of Spring!

Next, on March 23rd Venus in Aries in your twelfth house squares Pluto in Capricorn in your ninth, while Mercury also turns retrograde in Aries in your twelfth house. As a Taurus you don’t usually lead with political, religious, or ideological convictions. It’s not that you don’t have them, it’s just that you are always looking to create peace and harmony and so frequently these are topics that lead to anything but peace and harmony. However, as Aristotle once said, “We are political animals,” and this goes for even the peace-loving Bull. Don’t be afraid to explore your beliefs and convictions this month. Don’t be afraid to have it out or air it out. Don’t be afraid to ask your most honest questions. Don’t be afraid to have whatever honest doubts you have. AND, don’t be afraid to find a totally different kind of beauty and peace amid all of these experiences.

On March 28th Venus briefly conjoins Uranus in Aries in your twelfth house. Here we see your ruler, planet of love and relationships, conjoin with the planet of the rebel and the innovator. Your intuition is very strong right now, so that it pays to trust it. You may be called to think outside of the box or to come up with innovative solutions to complex relationship challenges. Don’t be surprised if your inner rebel or child throws a tantrum or two this month, and don’t be surprised if you find an underground current of greater passion and intensity than you’re used to. You might even wind up showing others this hidden side.

Finally, on March 31st it’s a Full Moon in Libra in your sixth house of sickness, suffering, and service. The month thus ends with a call to diplomacy, healing, and being of service to others around you. It’s a great time for personal healing or spring-cleaning. Take good care of yourself and don’t neglect your physical and emotional needs. It’s also a great time to give something of your time, energy, and resources to a good cause or to someone in need.
