Your month begins with one eclipse and ends with the aftermath of another, Gemini, and the message is greater understanding and conscious soul progress. While the Lunar Eclipse of January 31st featured also Mercury, your ruler, moving to Aquarius, the final two weeks of February depend on the startling poignancy of the February 15th Solar Eclipse taking place there as well, in your sector of higher mind. Your learning curve this month can go as steep as you feel fit for, as you climb. This growth spurt in which you are engaged helps with issues of intimacy and of inner acceptance that have been with you lately, and allow you to penetrate to a unique point of view on future development that takes into account only what comes from deep inside. You are fundamentally optimistic in pursuing this number-one priority, aware of difficulties implicit in your human condition and yet not allowing these to stop you.
The following was written by this month's guest columnist Adam Elenbaas of The Nightlight Astrology School
February begins just one day after the lunar eclipse in Leo on January 31st. The eclipse landed in your third house of communication, siblings, and the mind. Lunar eclipses represent endings and culmination; don’t be surprised if you are seeing the continued effects of the eclipse in these areas of your life. A lunar eclipse in your third house may indicate that you are learning something new, finishing a project, witnessing significant changes in the life of a sibling, or transforming the way you think, speak or communicate.
Meanwhile, on February 3rd Mercury in Aquarius in your ninth house will make a sextile to Mars in Sagittarius in your seventh house. This transit may focus on love or romance abroad, traveling and learning, or discussing your beliefs at length with a partner or spouse. Be careful, as this transit can be somewhat verbally or mentally combative and impatient, as well.
On the same day, Venus in Aquarius in your ninth house will square Jupiter in Scorpio in your sixth house. It might be time to look at your lifestyle or health and how it relates to your beliefs or personal philosophies, or lack thereof. This is the kind of transit that is notorious for overdoing things in the love and romance department, so be careful to practice moderation, but at the same time you might be inspired at this time to heal an old wound or to return yourself to health and wellness after a period of being down and out.
February 7th the Last Quarter Moon in Scorpio will conjoin with Jupiter in your sixth house. It’s a great time to let go, purge, heal, or release what is no longer serving you. If you have gone to any unhealthy extremes, this is a time of potentially difficult karmic consequences for your body and mind, so be good to yourself and find the courage necessary to make the decision to return to your best practices.
February 10th the planet Venus moves into Pisces, where it was traditionally said to be “exalted.” It will also move into your tenth house. Venus will be in Pisces the rest of the month in your career house, but watch around this date because planets entering new signs and houses often make a splash when they first arrive. This transit focuses on a very successful and exciting time for you, professionally. Venus brings charm, good luck, harmony, beauty, and recognition to our work and sometimes even love and romance in the work place.
On February 15th it’s a New Moon and solar eclipse in the sign of Aquarius in your ninth house. Solar eclipses bring powerful new beginnings. You may find yourself planning a vacation or travel abroad, starting down the path of a new learning or spiritual study, or discovering a brand-new vision for the future. Trust in what doors the Universe is opening for you at this time, and be open to whatever guidance might be coming through to you right now.
On February 17th Mars in Sagittarius in your seventh house will square Neptune in Pisces in your tenth house. You might be called to sacrifice something, or you may be tempted to become a martyr for a cause. Don’t let yourself be pushed around, but remember that smart compromises lead to success. You may also feel called to pursue a love interest at this time, or you might be debating a decision surrounding both your career and your love life, simultaneously. Be careful of being too impulsive. You may not have all the facts yet.
On February 17th your ruler, Mercury, is also cazimi (at the heart of the Sun) in the sign of Aquarius. However, shortly after this on the 17th Mercury will also enter its traditional “fall” by moving into Pisces and your tenth house, giving you a new focus on career and profession. This is a peculiar transit that may involve some tricky communication dynamics in the work place. Be careful of who you place your trust in, as well as how you communicate with others. A situation may turn quickly from all green lights to a period of confusion or even chaos. On the other hand, you may find that you are clarifying for yourself a new direction while struggling to communicate or share it with others.
On February 18th the Sun will enter the sign of Pisces and your tenth house, and on February 21st Venus will conjoin Neptune in Pisces in your tenth house. Both transits continue to shine the spotlight directly onto your career. This is a wonderful time for artistic success, love or romance in the work place, or general success in publicizing or putting your work out for an audience to see. This transit may also indicate ongoing negotiations and the need for transparency and clarity in the work place. Be mindful of secret motives or manipulation that might be lying just beneath the surface of the smiles and handshakes.
Following this, Mercury will conjoin with Neptune in Pisces in your tenth house and Venus in Pisces will square Mars in Sagittarius in your seventh house, both on February 25th. This epic series of transits focuses on your overall life direction in relationship to both intimate relationships and your career path.
It’s a challenging month of long-term decisions for you, Gemini. Your career is at the forefront of the planetary conversation, and while you may know exactly what you want or need from your career for the first time in a while, you may also find that other people’s needs, interests, feelings, or convictions are standing in the way, perhaps inviting you to stand in your truth more firmly than ever, or possibly requiring some level of healthy compromise.
