Hallow's Eve Grand Trine: Honoring the Mystery

This Halloween we have a special celestial configuration- a grand trine in Water signs between the Sun, Moon, and Neptune.

The Sun is continuing to shine his light into the mystical intensity of Scorpio, while the Moon matches the Water element from her own home sign in the emotional depths of Cancer, and nebulous Neptune is also at home in dreamy Piscean realms. The Water element brings the astral plane into our spiritual awareness. This is a day when it is said that "the veil is thin" between the worlds, and this very watery triad could dramatically heighten this effect. You could find ease and fun in leaving the stable door open and allowing your wild imaginings to run free, feeling the beauty and temporality of every moment.

In the same breath, this return to child-like wonder and curiosity could have our sensitivities running high. In the freedom and presence of the moment, we can also feel the nearness of death as integral part of life, just as the Sun in Scorpio would like to remind us on this day. Halloween, or All Hallow's Eve, is a day and time of year where diverse cultures across the globe honor and celebrate the dead, so that this grand trine also speaks to us of the preciousness of life in the midst of the mystery of the unknown. We live in a global culture obsessed with knowledge, where rational thought reigns supreme. Collecting knowledge can be seen as a way to gain the illusion of control. We might need a touch of uncertainty every once in a while to calm us down and awaken us to the uncertainty of living close to the deep mysteries of the universe. This can be frightening, and yet, if we face this deep concept instead of hiding from it, we can take a bit of comfort as well. Perhaps today we can make a gesture to the places we cannot know or see with our conscious rational minds, but can feel with our hearts, our guts, our very bones.

It may be of benefit for us today to accept this invitation to mystery, and to honor those who have passed on from this physical realm and into the unknown by living with a sparkle in our eye, and fierce kindness in our hearts, because in the end we all are bound for the same fate - and glory.
