Taurus Horoscope for September 2015

This month marks the close of one phase of a powerful period of self-study, Taurus, as is indicated by the recent retrograde of your ruler, Venus, continuing through the first weekend of September. You are mulling over habitual patterns in your life, reassessing nearly everything. You also possess a powerful idealism regarding life direction, and the concrete steps that you might take in order to get yourself there. Your intuitional awareness is quite strong now, so that it pays to tune in. Your self-expression and creativity come more fully into play during the second half of the month. There is a potent dose of spiritual content implicit in the road that you are beginning to travel, although because your current goals are not entirely of this physical world, the inner mandate that you feel can be confusing as well as inspired.

As the month begins, you are enjoying a further stage of a trip to the inside of your psyche, a journey that has been ongoing throughout the previous month. This internal orientation might have been the occasion for feelings of concern, but is a natural correlation to the symbolism of retrograde Venus, the ruler of your solar chart, moving in a backward direction through the sign of Leo, which corresponds to your sector of home and family, and your psychological roots. Also, Venus has just made her helical rise, beginning a new Venus-Sun cycle, in this same sign of Leo. It might be that experiences of the previous few weeks have literally brought back the past, relating to family connections in some way, or that your home environment is going through a period of refinement and reorganization. All these events tie into core issues and your psychological comfort space, and might also refer back to a cycle of renewal corresponding to the previous eight years, the cycle of Venus rising in Leo.

The recent Leo New Moon from the middle of the previous month underscores these themes of Venus retrograde, as does, as well, her station to direct motion in the first weekend of September. The current lunation cycle takes you through the first eleven days of the month, leading up to the Solar Eclipse New Moon of September 12th. This powerful New Moon initiates a new cycle in a different and more outgoing sector of your chart, emblematic of self-expression and artistic output. An eclipse in general represents an extra-powerful New Moon, and at this timing, a stationing Venus and Mercury are in aspect, with Mercury about to retrograde, during these last three weeks of September. You could therefore find yourself during this second half of the month still concerned with inner matters and the refinement of your mission statement.

Unconscious perception and innate knowledge play a large role as well for you this month, with Uranus emphasized, residing in your sector of dream imagination and inner work. Uranus symbolizes the trickster quality of sudden and unexpected events, and of pulling the rug out from under whatever it was that you thought that you had planned. In this sector, especially, this energy refers back to profound levels of intuition that can tell you true when you least expect to know the answer. This is provided that you can remain open to the subtle messages emanating from deep inside you. As the mystical lyrics of the Grateful Dead often remind us, sometime you have to just "close your eyes to see."

Because Neptune is also prominent in this month's astrology, located in your sector of societal connection and future plans, you are feeling an idealized connection to goals and life direction that can be both inspired and, equally, confounding to your more grounded state of mind when operating in the so-called "real" world of your physical senses. Then, too, in the second half of the month, earth-oriented Saturn enters your higher mind sector, providing a stark contrast to the more free-flowing presence, in prominent outgoing sectors, of Jupiter and of Neptune. You are therefore caught between a rock and a soft place, not always knowing which way to go. You do well to watch and wait, allowing the universe to have its way with you when it must, and looking forward to the coming next phase. As you strive to ride out, with grace and a healthy dose of equanimity, the ripples and even the high tides coming at you, you might remember that there is always the turning.
