Virgo Horoscope for July 2017

This is an exciting month for figuring out your future, Virgo. Due to the placement of the recent Cancer New Moon conjunct Mercury, your ruler, you are more attuned than ever to your prospective direction. This is in the light of your evolving world view and the recognition of your deepest values, what in fact is most important to you, long term. Partnership ideals also play a large role for you right now in helping to define your values. You sense major transformational activity just below the level of your conscious awareness and you do well to encourage further explorations of all your possibilities by a process of intuition combined with the hard-and-fast logic that your sign is known for. This affects career moves as well as those representing more personal choices. Everything that you choose right now has implications for a broader application to a more studied life path.

July is a big month for those born under the sign of the Virgin. Early in the month (July 4th), Venus enters your tenth house of career, accomplishments, reputation, and authority and will stay there all month. Whenever Venus enters the career house we can anticipate a few different scenarios. You may find love in the workplace, new friends in the workplace, an attractive new boss or superior in the workplace, or that people are more attracted to YOU in the workplace. On the other hand, you may find that you are simply getting paid more attention to, acting more diplomatically, impressing or charming the right people, or generally finding favorable results with those above you. Venus in the tenth often results in promotions, praise, good reviews, new creative or artistic opportunities, or new networking opportunities. However, like all transits, we can’t just sit back and expect good or bad things to happen; we must participate in the symbolism as much as we can. So, don’t be too timid, servile, passive, or picky this month, and don’t let puritanical virtues be your vice. Move in where there are openings, and show others your intelligence, thoughtfulness, and readiness to contribute or even lead.

As the month wears on, Venus will gradually begin applying to an opposition with Saturn in your fourth house. This opposition presents tensions, difficulties, and confrontations or obstacles between your public life and your private or home life. Every opposition presents the possibility for synthesis, so the good advice is to look for a balance between your private duties and responsibilities at home (Saturn in the fourth) and blossoming opportunities, new relationships, and people taking note of you in public or in the work place (Venus in the tenth).

Meanwhile, there is also a stellium of planets in your eleventh house, in Cancer, this month. For almost all of July Mars will be in its fall and combust beneath the rays of the Sun in your house of friends, wishes and hopes for the future, benefactors, and allies. This is a month where your dreams and goals may be changing before your eyes, or you may find that your friendships, group allegiances, or general sense of life direction is going through a death and rebirth process. In traditional astrology, when the Sun is combusting Mars it means that the synodic cycle between Mars and the Sun is starting over again, which means Mars is dying and will soon be reborn. While the Sun represents our overall sense of purpose and our ambitions in life, Mars is related to the will. So, when the will is reborn in the fires of the Sun, our sense of direction and purpose is going through a tremendous transformation. For you, this is taking place in a house of your future goals and dreams, as well as your friends, or more broadly speaking those people and groups you share common goals and dreams with. Virgos are loyal friends and faithful servants, but Virgos also tend to take on too much, to be overly critical of themselves, and to sometimes sit on the fence for too long worrying. This is a month where the opportunity to transform your entire sense of direction, calling, and purpose, especially in the work place and in terms of your long-term dreams, may present itself. The question is, will you hold yourself back, or will you go for it'
